the ego is a prison, therefore life for us is experienced similarly to how a convict experiences prison?

( just do your time try not to die. program yourself with a routine. then manipulate others for some resource)

if another planet looked at our everyday life, would it look to be similar to if someone on earth looked at the everyday life of an imprisoned convict?

what are the implications or the practical real world experience of of the gnostic idea that life is a prison?

Hello,

Thank you for the question. There are many writings by Samael Aun Weor that provide a clear answer to your question on the ego. In these studies, we understand that we must work to eliminate the ego, while also working to serve others. By doing so, we begin our journey toward freedom.

In your question, you mentioned
( just do your time try not to die. program yourself with a routine. then manipulate others for some resource)

Just doing time without working to eliminate the ego (death of the “I”/psychological aggregates) and merely being routine would equate to being no more than ‘lukewarm’ and would still confine us within the prison of our egos.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. – Revelation 3: 15, 16

Furthermore, chapter 24 of the Pistis Sophia provides more insight into our internal essence and the conditions which we find ourselves:

Unquestionably, the Essence is found bottled up within multiple, inhuman psychic aggregates. Such aggregates personify our psychological defects: anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, laziness, gluttony, etc. In Egypt, such undesirable elements were known as the red demons of Seth.

Each demon of Seth is an “I” in itself. This is irrefutable and indisputable. As long as the psychic Essence continues to be bottled up within the red demons of Seth, the consciousness will process itself by virtue of its own embottlement.

Indubitably, the bottled up consciousness sleeps profoundly. People live asleep, unconscious. This is how they exist, work, and suffer. Nevertheless, they think that they are awake.

Those who annihilate the red demons of Seth will liberate their consciousness. They will radically awaken it.

The annihilation of the psychic aggregates can be made possible only by radically comprehending our errors through meditation and by the evident Self-reflection of the Being.

Here again, we see guidance that points to the need to eliminate our “I” in order to awaken and find freedom

On manipulating others, in these studies, we understand that one of many differences between white and black magicians is in how they use energy. If our thoughts, will, and actions are driven to manipulate others, then this is using energy as a black magician. If one aspires to serve others, then this is working towards becoming a white magician.

On how occupants of other planets perceive us, this would really depend on their level of being. Perhaps for some, the earth is not a prison, while for others it is. We cannot know for sure unless we live on said planet and have the same level of being as they do.

I hope this provides some clarity. I invite you to read the links provided and hope that I have provided some clarity.

If someone remains lukewarm what becomes of them?
is staying lukewarm the path to becoming a marut?

"To understand this chapter, it is necessary to know that there are beings who achieved some degree of spiritual purity, but fell into disgrace, creating a division in their psyche. They are called fallen angels, demons, hasnamussen, maruts, etc. These terms refer to awakened beings with a “split personality”—one side with knowledge of the light, and the other submerged in darkness. Here, the Zohar describes five types of such beings."...

..." These five races survived till the time of the fourth captivity of [the archetypes of] Israel, whose chief enemies they were, and therefore called instruments of iniquity. They are denoted in scripture by the words:

“And the earth also was [sexually] corrupt before Elohim, and the earth was filled with [wars and sexual] violence.” - Genesis 6: 11.
Of these, the first race was the Amalekites."
