Hello.
I would like to start off by expressing my gratitude for this amazing resource.
I came across these teachings a few months ago and have delved right in due to the fact that it resonates strongly with me.
However I have some misgivings about certain things that I would like some clarity on if possible.
Of course as the master says one must investigate within to find the truth and I am on that path but I hope that some perspective on my points of confusion might help myself and others to tread with more vigilance.
My perspective of Samael Aun Weor as a person has shifted recently and has made me question this doctrine. It still resonates as a whole but if the person giving the teaching contradicts himself then it becomes harder to take the whole thing seriously.
I heard in a podcast episode the other day that Samael said that if someone claims to be the reincarnation of some historical figure or saint, such as Mary Magdalene, that one should disregard them as an authentic teacher, but Samael himself claims to have been Julius Caesar in a previous life and also to be such and such avatar so on and so forth, the archangel Samael himself. Why would he say that if he goes on to do the very same thing he warned about charlatans saying?
Another thing that sounded alarm bells for me was what he said about his mummy in Egypt. That just doesn't seem believable. Why wouldn't he reincarnate in a womb?
Another thing is that he seems to regularly speak with judgement about people who love in degeneracy, calling them "imbeciles" simply for being ignorant of the correct way to live. This does not sit right.
And finally there are a few things that he says that just seem ridiculous and absurd. For instance the lecture titled "Christ, Maitreya, Resurrection, Communism, Karl Marx, Faith, Past Loves", when talking about Lemuria and a tribe of small people:

We witnessed all of this. Between fire and earthquakes, Lemuria sank into the Pacific, for 10,000 years...

Student: And there were survivors, then?

Samael Aun Weor: Yes, there were survivors. Some of those devolved so much that they became Lilliputian. Recently, in Bolivia, they found a group of Lilliputians (so small). They were there; they had a little town over there, but this is not a story of “Walt Disney”... They were like 10 centimeters around there, or 20; the tallest were giants, they were 20 centimeters (those were already giants) well, the little town was all made up of little houses that looked like doll town, like a doll town. And what would the little pots be like, where the Lilliputians cooked? everything was like that, little one! But, overnight, those people disappeared. What did they do? They went inside the fourth vertical and left.

Those were Lemurians already devolved, devolved... However, the town is preserved and that tribe that exists in that region, never allows any civilized to approach that town; it is guarded by the tribe.

Student: By whom?

Samael Aun Weor: By the tribe... It's a little town that looks like a doll town, with a huge, very high hill, or several very high hills that surround it... Each hill is so high that at most it can reach about 30 centimeters; but for them it is a big hill, of course. Well, some may be 40 centimeters or 50 at most...

I'm sorry but with all due respect what on earth is he talking about? Disregarding how absurd the whole thing is one thing that just doesn't make logical sense is this idea of a 40-50 centimeter hill being a "big hill" for a person who is 10-20 centimeters. That's only a little more than double the person's height. Not a big hill at all.
My point is that it comes across as if he's making some things up as he goes along. Is he having a laugh? Similar with his mummy in Egypt. The whole dialogue about that just seems ridiculous.

Any light you could shed on these concerns would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. -Hamlet (1.5.167-8)
The way to know about what he is talking about is through meditation and dream yoga (or astral travel). Otherwise, if we do not awaken our consciousness and experience what is written, either in his books or in the scriptures, then this doctrine will not make sense in a deep and profound way. Do not follow anyone. Learn to know your own internal divinity and see what is real from within. If there are things that do not sit well with you, then be patient, wait, and investigate. Meditation is what opens the doors to reconciling these controversial and confusing things. Appearances are often illusory and we can be easily fooled by our own mind. Therefore, intuition, conscience, experience, and practice is what builds certainty.

The following course comes to mind and addresses the controversial and provocative nature of the Archangel Samael. It might provide some clarity and context for you.

Any insights on why he claimed to be a reincarnation of Julius Caesar? By his own advice we should consider him a charlatan for making that claim...
