Secret Teachings of Moses

Chapter 13: The Fruits of the Tree of Life

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?—Matthew 7:16

There is a reason why grapes and figs are used in this verse. It is because the grape is the outcome of the vine. The grape encloses the Christic Solar force that circulates through the vine, the symbol of the two forces, beams of the cross or polarities (Pingala and Ida, Adam and Eve), the two branches that entwine in the spinal column; that is the grape:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. —John 15: 1, 2

This is why the grape is the symbol of the Eucharist. From the grape we make the wine, or grape juice, in order to celebrate the Eucharist, which symbolizes the blood of the Lord. This is the symbol of transmutation or transubstantiation.

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but [Klipothic] leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. —Matthew 21:19

The fig tree symbolizes the feminine sexual forces. The feminine sexual forces are symbolized in a woman, but are also symbolized in the man and a woman by the left serpent of the Caduceus of Mercury, called Ida, or the lunar forces that the physical body gathers. Thus, we have Eve (Ida, Obd) connected to one of our testicles or ovaries, and that is the serpent of the Caduceus of Mercury that ate the forbidden fruit, or that offered the forbidden fruit to the sexual organs. Eve also represents the sexual organs, while Adam represents the brain.

The forbidden fruit was offered to Eve, not to Adam. The forbidden fruit is offered to Eve, the sexual organs and the feminine serpent within each of us. The forbidden fruit is the orgasm. Thus, when Eve succumbs to temptation and indulges in the orgasm, she passes the fruit to Adam, the brain. The consequences of fornication (Eve, sexual organs) infect Adam (the brain), which is the central nervous system, connected to the medulla and to the other centers, which are connected to the Tree of Life (spinal column).

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. —Genesis 3:7

This is why we do not eat anymore of the fruits of the Tree of Life: the superior senses. This is because through Eve, the sexual organs, we abused the sexual energy.

This is why Daath, the Tree of Knowledge of Tob טוב (good) and Ra רע (evil, pollution), is the sexual energy that connects us to the two world. Tob טוב, good in Hebrew, is in the spinal column; Ra רע, pollution or evil in Hebrew, is the negatively charged sexual force (Kundabuffer) that goes into hell. This is why it is stated that Eve connects us to hell. The figs are the symbol of Eve, the feminine force.

Through the orgasm we open the doors of hell. The orgasm is how we abuse the sexual energy in Eden, Yesod. Thus, now, we appear here in this physical world as the physical vehicles of hell. This is what our society is now… because of fornication, all of us opened the doors of hell and brought this hell up into the physical world that we inhabit.

Each one of us brings his or her own hell through the activities of the sexual act. The more sexual degeneration expands, the more the pollution from Klipoth enters into the physical world. Problems such as illness, whether physical, psychological, psychosomatic, etc, are the outcome of this. This hell in which we live exists because of our sexual behavior.

Remember that every time we manipulate the sexual energy through masturbation or the sexual connection in a negative fashion, we squander the energy of Eden. In other words, we are already out of Eden, and we keep repeating the same perversity keeping us out of Eden.

Yet:

...[if] thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness [be] as the noonday:

And [Jehovah יהוה] shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered גן [gan: garden], and like a spring of מים [mayim: waters], whose מים [mayim: waters] fail not.

And [they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, “The repairer of the breach [of Eden], The restorer of paths to dwell in [Eden].”

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a ענג [oneg: delight], the holy of [Jehovah], honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words:

Then shalt thou ענג [oneg: delight] thyself in יהוה [Jehovah]; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the ארץ [Ha’aretz, earth], and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of יהוה [Jehovah] hath spoken [it]. —Isaiah 58:10-14

“Delight” in Hebrew is Oneg ענג, written with the letters, Ayin ע, Nun נ, and Gimel ג.

The first letter is Ayin ע, which is the letter with which we write Eden. The second letter is Nun נ, with which we write Nahar נהר (river). The third letter is Gimel ג, with which we write Gan גן, garden. So Oneg ענג (delight) is an acrostic of three letters, which indicates: “a river went out of Eden in order to water the garden.” From “delight,” the upper Eden, came a river, from the heart came life to water the garden or to water with the sexual force the physical body with life.

The river that flows from the superior Eden is the Son, Christ, the Solar Light. The Son, Christ, is not a person; it is the Solar Light, the Solar Force, which is life. That is why Christ in the body of Jesus said, “I am the light of the world,” because the Solar Light is the light of the world.

That solar light is the vehicle of life. It is the Cosmic Christ that should be humanized in each one of us. He enters everywhere. There is not a single physical body in this Earth where the Lord does not enter. Christ enters whether you are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist—Christ does not care about your religion. Christ always enters into you, through your blood, and gives life to your body. Christ is the river that comes out of Eden; it is “delight” from above. The solar light enters into your body and waters the garden, your physical body, with life.

In order to return into that delight, Oneg ענג, we have to change our sexual behavior. This is why it is stated that many false prophets will come and teach you the contrary.

So, you have to gather figs and grapes, which are symbols of the sexual force that you have in yourself little by little. “Ye shall know them by their fruits” because these senses awaken and give you the power of tongues, which means the power of interpreting the word of God.

The power of tongues is not epileptic attacks where people fall unconscious on the ground, talking nonsense, saying that the Holy Spirit is talking through them. The Holy Spirit is the creative force of God, not a font of gibberish and rolling eyes. These fits of nonsensical words are ominous and negative. In reality, the power of tongues is to know how to understand what is written in scripture, how to understand the word of God, not only in the Bible, but in any sacred book.

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. – Matthew 7:17-20

Indeed, we are only concerned with two types of good fruits: the fruits of Tree of Life and the fruits of Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. These are the only two good fruits that we want to bring forth inside, in our own garden.

Notwithstanding, we already abandoned our own garden.

Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept. —Song of Songs of Solomon 1:6

Now we have to return to caring for our garden, and comprehend why the Bible states:

For Jehovah Elohim had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. —Genesis 2:5

We are that soul that could become Adam, yet for this we must learn how to till the ground of our own particular garden, which is our physical body and its vitality (Yesod).

We may believe in and understand this teaching, but our own vineyard or garden is abandoned if we squander our sexual energy. We must learn to obey the Elohim, the Holy Spirit, in order to till our ground and to put into activity all of those elements which are in potentiality in our garden, since still there are no good fruits from the trees.

The male physical body is a yielding tree and the female is a fruit tree. The male is a yielding tree because he gives fruits to the female, and the female flourishes with fruits; thus, the female is a fruit tree. Remember that Eve took from the fruit tree and opened the doors of hell.

Everyone is a trio of body, soul, and spirit. The spirit is God within, who is connected to Jah-Havah Elohim, connected to Father and Mother above is the spirit which the Bible calls Ruach Elohim. Our own particular spirit descends from above into our physical body. He is sent by the Holy Spirit, Jehovah Elohim, in order to prepare the physical body for the soul. As souls we have the duty of tilling the ground of this physical body and manipulating the forces of this physical body for our spirit, for our God. We need to obey the spirit in order to take care of the body.

Symbolically, alchemically, the Holy Spirit, Jah-Havah Elohim, was the one who placed Adam in the Garden of Eden in order for Adam to take care of it. Similarly, our own particular spirit places us (our soul) into the Garden of Eden (our physicality) in order to take care of it. Regrettably, we do not take care of it. Remember that the superior part of the physical body is the vital or ethereal body, and is related with Eden; thus, by taking care of our vitality, we obey the law.

The first commandment given to the soul (symbolized in Tiphereth, the sixth Sephirah) in the Garden of Eden, was:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil [the sexual force], thou shalt not eat of it [through the orgasm]: for in the day that thou eatest thereof [as an animal] thou shalt surely die. – Genesis 2: 17

This commandment is related to the Sephirah Tiphereth, which is the Human Soul, so it was given to the soul, which is represented in the number six, counting the Sephiroth downwards from Kether.

Genesis 2:17 relates to the sixth commandment, “You shall not fornicate.” This is why you read in the Bible many passages that teach that you shall not fornicate, that you shall avoid fornication in order to return—as a soul—into the Garden of Eden.

This is why in Kabbalah we relate the mother letter Mem מ/ם with Yesod, the waters, and this is why Jesus was baptized in the river of Yesod, in the waters. From the waters he emerged, and the Holy Spirit from Daath came upon him and was delighted because he was coming from pleasure, chastity, below.

The secret of the Garden of Eden encompasses the whole Bible, since the Garden of Eden encloses the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge, which together encloses the entire doctrine of Moses. The doctrine of the Garden of Eden is related with Yesod and Daath, with Father and Mother, and with all the commandments.
