As Genesis explains, according to initiation, there is enmity between the seed of the tempting serpent and the seed of the woman who follows the path of chastity. Afterwards, we see the enmity between the seed of Sarai (Daath, the upper Eden), the wife of Abraham, and the seed of Hagar/Agar הגר (Malkuth, Mizrayim, Egypt—the lower Eden).
Hagar gives birth to Ishmael, which is the outcome of the tempting serpent, because Abraham has this child with a slave of Egypt; this means a sexual organ enslaved by the laws of Malkuth. Yet Sarai, as Sarah, gives life to Isaac in Daath, which is the fire of God rising in the spinal column. Isaac represents the soul (Abel) that we have to resurrect through initiation.
For it is written, that Abraham [Chesed, the Ruach Elohim] had two sons, the one by a bondmaid [in the physical womb], the other by a freewoman [in the spinal column].
But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh [orgasm]; but he of the freewoman was by promise [sexual transmutation].
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai [the physical womb], which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar [Hagar]. For this Agar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to [the tridimensional, physical] Jerusalem [below Yesod] which now is, and is in bondage [of the laws of the wheel of Samsara] with her children.
But Jerusalem which is above [Yesod, in Daath] is free, which is [Aima Elohim] the [Divine] Mother [Kundalini] of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for [through the orgasm] the desolate hath many more children [in Malkuth] than she [the Divine Mother Kundalini] which [through sexual sublimation] hath an husband [the Ruach Elohim, Abraham, the Father from the height].
Now we, brethren [in the initiation], as Isaac was [born in the spinal column, the second womb], are the children of promise [scientific chastity].
But as then he that was born after the flesh [orgasm] persecuted him that was born after the Spirit [of God or Ruach Elohim, Abraham, Chesed], even so it is now.
Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son [into the mechanical laws of Malkuth, the Wheel of Samsara]: for the son of the bondwoman [who dresses with lunar, lustful rugs] shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman [who dresses with Solar Christic garments].
So then, brethren [in the initiation], we are not children of the bondwoman [who engender children for the second death], but of the free [who engender children to eternal life—Chai]. – Galatians 4:22-31
In the first initiation of Major Mysteries, we find the second enmity in which Sarah, who is the woman that is following the laws of God, gives birth to Isaac. Yet, before that, Hagar, who is a slave of the laws of Malkuth, gives birth to Ishmael. Within them are the two seeds:
- Ishmael, the seed of the tempting serpent
- Isaac, the seed of the chaste woman, the Divine Mother Kundalini
Continuing on the path of initiation you find that Rebecca, the wife of Isaac in Yesod, in the second initiation of Major Mysteries, creates another enmity, since from her womb she gives birth to twins, who are Jacob and Esau. It is written Esau was cunning, because he was the seed of the tempting serpent.
And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob. – Genesis 25:27, 28
Esau and Jacob are born inside of initiates in the second initiation of Major Mysteries. Esau, the sensual mind, is a cunning hunter in the field (Shaddai) of Yesod, the lower Eden. Jacob, who symbolizes the human soul, follows the seed of the woman, Aima Elohim, represented in Rebecca in Daath, the upper Eden.
In the lower Eden, Mary Magdalene represents the woman, the priestess wife, who in us also represents the body and the sexual organ, which has this conflict in every initiation when we try to recuperate our heavenly Edenic state. We do this in steps; it does not happen mechanically or automatically, as many people think.
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I [as Esau] am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that [Esau, who] dwelleth in me.
For I know that in me [that is, in my flesh,] dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that [Esau, who] dwelleth in me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil [which is Esau] is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after [Jacob] the inward man [or inner mind]: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my [inward] mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is [Esau] in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord [the Christic fire in Yesod]. So then with the mind [of Jacob] I myself serve the law of God; but with [Esau] the flesh the law of sin. —Romans 7:14-25
First we have to recognize that we have Cain, the sensual mind in our head, and that Cain killed our soul, who is Abel. Knowing that this enmity exists within us because of the tempting serpent, we have to then start working in the initiation.
Then, by following the first initiation, we realize, that there is another division within us—between Ishmael and Isaac. They are symbolic within the person who knows this knowledge and who studies this doctrine but who is psychologically dead. It is not enough to know about the doctrine; we have to practice it, in order to give chance to our own particular Sarai (the princess) who—in other words—is the woman who represents the Divine Mother, the Princess Kundalini, who gives birth to Isaac within the spinal column of each one of us. Thereafter, we have the duality within: the experience of the direct knowledge within us, that is experienced by Isaac, our soul, our psyche; and the knowledge that we have that is literal, intellectual and that we study and have faith in it, that is Ishmael within us.
Ishmael also represents those who know the Bible alchemically, but do not take action. God does not want anything to do with Ishmael: those who hear the word but do not act on it.
And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly [in Malkuth]; twelve princes shall he beget [the twelve physical tribes in the physical world, related to the twelve zodiacal signs], and I will make him a great [Gentile] nation [the Goyim, the Aryan Root Race].
But my covenant will I establish with Isaac [who is Geburah, the divine soul], which Sarah [the Divine Princess Kundalini] shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year [in the spinal column].
And he left off talking with him, and Elohim went up on [the spinal column of] Abraham. —Genesis 17:20-22
This is how Elohim establishes his covenant with Isaac.
Isaac is a practical fire that from Yesod (sex) must go up to the head within the spinal column in the first initiation of Major Mysteries; this is how Isaac becomes the son of Sarah (in Daath, the upper Eden). Isaac is not the son of Hagar (Malkuth, Mizrayim, Egypt—the lower Eden).
As you see here, there are two covenants:
- the covenant where one studies the doctrine
- the covenant where one practices the doctrine
It is as the apostle James stated:
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
For if any be [as Ishmael] a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man [is as Isaac, who] shall be blessed in his deed. —James 1:22—25
Sequentially, after the division that occurs in the first initiation of Major Mysteries, comes this other division related with Jacob and Esau, which symbolizes another initiatic process within us. Here we realize that the potency in our sexual organs that wants the satisfaction of desire comes from Esau (the sensual mind), yet there is Jacob (the inner mind, the inward man) inside of us, who (as the apostle Paul stated) is that element within us who delights in the law of God after Jacob, the inward man. This happens in Yesod, another initiatic level.
Thus, when you conquer that level, you enter into the level of Joseph, who is related with the Sephirah Hod, the astral-emotional body. Likewise, when you enter into this initiation, we find this enmity between the two seeds. Rachel, the wife of Jacob, was also a woman who had difficulties with procreation. Symbolically, as we already know, Jacob had four women, and Rachel had difficulties with procreation. Eventually, Rachel gave birth to Joseph and Benjamin. These two children relate to other initiatic aspects that we must develop when we enter into Hod after passing through the different levels of this psychological development, through this enmity between the tempting serpent and the woman.
Finally we reach the level of Moses. Moses was born from a priest and priestess of the tribe of Levi. This priestess is also that woman who is conquering the tempting serpent—as it is written:
When Pharaoh [the king of Mizrayim, Egypt, Malkuth] shall speak unto you, saying, Show a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as Jah-Chavah had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent [the Divine Mother Kundalini].
Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers [of Klipoth]: now the [fornicator] magicians of Egypt [Mizrayim, Malkuth], they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents [the Kundabuffer]: but Aaron’s rod [through scientific chastity] swallowed up their [lustful] rods. – Exodus 7: 9-12
As it is written:
And Jehovah Elohim [Binah] said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this [lustful act], thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every [Chaioth] beast of the field [Shaddai]; upon thy belly [seat of desires] shalt thou go, and dust [the archetypes within the wheel of Samsara] shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed [the magicians of Egypt, Malkuth] and her seed [Moses, in Daath]; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. —Genesis 3:15
“And her seed (Moses); it shall bruise thy head”—in other words, the seed of the priestess of Levi, Moses, shall bruise the head of the tempting serpent (that is represented in the Pharaoh), since the tempting serpent of black magicians goes down writhing upon their belly of desires.
The last initiatic step between this tempting serpent and the woman is written in the gospels of Jesus Christ. Here the woman appears already holy, which is when the initiate reaches the fifth initiation of Major Mysteries. This is when the four bodies of sin have become Hadosh (holy), or as we say, “Chaioth ha Kadosh.” This occurs when the physical/vital body, the astral body, the mental body, and the causal body are already holy, when their matter is already chaste. They then become “Chaioth ha Kadosh,” holy creatures. Thus, when all of those bodies are holy, when there is not a fallen lunar element in that soul, then the Virgin appears. She is the woman who already conquered the tempting serpent in many levels. This woman is the Virgin Mary or Miriam, who is represented in the mother of Jesus of Nazareth, who represents Joshua (the savior). Miriam gives birth to the savior, yet this is a very high level in which the woman, the Divine Mother, is already in Daath conquering the tempting serpent.
This occurs inside of the initiate. It is not outside, but inside of us. This “Ieshua” the Christ, is Chokmah that unites himself with the soul (Tiphereth). Ieshua the savior is born from that woman that conquered the tempting serpent from the bottom of Malkuth to the top in Tiphereth; she is the woman who reached the level of Tiphereth. That woman is the Divine Mother Kundalini represented in Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, the woman who is the priestess of Levi, who gives birth to Moses—the woman who is transforming herself by means of initiatic work into Miriam, the Virgin Mary. םירמ Miriam represents the two wombs, the two mems מם which procreate through chastity: physically and spiritually.
So when that woman becomes the Virgin Mary, she is ready, because she is pure and an immaculate virgin within all of our human nature. Thus, she gives birth to Jesus Christ within us.
Jesus Christ represents the initiate that already conquered the tempting serpent and who has to annihilate the evil consequences of the serpent, which manifest in the drama of the passion of Christ. In the gospel of John, that virgin appears in the wedding of Cana:
And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and [םירמ Miriam] the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him: They have no wine. – John 2: 1-3
This is a reference to the couple, since they are newlywed and they are not transmuting their sexual libido yet. In other words, Mary is telling Jesus to teach them chastity, to do something in their favor, thus:
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come. – John 2: 4
The relationship of Miriam to Jesus has to do with the annihilation of all the defects and vices that we have to disintegrate in order to reach perfection. However, such an hour has not yet come for the newlyweds. First they have to raise their Abraham and then they need to raise their Isaac, Jacob, and, finally, Moses. In other words, what Jesus is saying is this: “Woman, they have to reach the level of Moses in order for me to act.”
Nevertheless, Jesus teaches in John 2:1-4 that in order to reach that level they have to transmute their sexual force (the water) into wine, which symbolizes the fire. This is why Jesus says: “Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come.”
That hour for the savior to arrive does not come easily. The hour of the savior comes when Moses reaches the top of the Mountain of Initiation; the hour of Moses comes after the hour of Joseph, and the hour of Joseph comes after the hour of Jacob, and the hour of Jacob comes after the hour of Isaac, and the hour of Isaac comes after the hour of Abraham. As you see, hours are times, ages of initiations in which we have to work with these archetypes. So the final archetype that we have to work on with the woman (the force of the woman, the genitalia) is Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the highest archetype, the savior within each one of us that we have to develop. Before reaching the hour of Jesus, we have to purify our own particular matter and transform it into our own Virgin Matter. The Virgin Matter, Virgin Mary, Virgin Miriam, gives birth to our own particular individual Jesus Christ. Such are the hours of transformation.
This is what is associated with what Jesus said to Nicodemus:
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up... —John 3:14
Moses is a symbol of the body of willpower, the body of Tiphereth, whose essence began to rise from the bottom. Moses resurrected in Abraham; Moses resurrected in Isaac; Moses resurrected in Jacob and Moses resurrected in Joseph, in order to finally appear as Moses—the body of willpower on top of the mountain of God. So the resurrection of Moses represents the resurrection of Abel, the soul that was killed by Cain. Thus, Abel resurrected in Moses. This is why Moses controls the serpent, which is the first wonder that Moses does in front of the Pharaoh with the help of Jehovah Elohim:
And Iod-Havah said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it [the serpent] by the tail [Yesod]. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod [which is the letter Vav] in his hand. – Exodus 4:4
This means that Moses controlled the tempting serpent of Eden. Moses conquered Ra רע (evil) and therefore Moses is ready for the next step. And God saw that Moses was doing good.
People do not comprehend that Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness because such a serpent was fallen; therefore as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Adam (the human soul, Abel) be lifted up. This is what Jesus taught to Nicodemus.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. —Matthew 10:16
This means that in order to become wise you have to develop the wisdom of the serpent through chastity and be harmless as doves; the dove is the symbol of the Holy Spirit, Jehovah Elohim, Binah. By being wise as a serpent and meek as a dove is how we become a prophet.
We reach that level of the wise when that woman, which is our own particular individual, Divine Mother inside of us, conquers the serpent and is fecundated by the dove in order to give birth to Jesus. This is how Jesus is born within us as a savior and starts doing the hard work, which is the annihilation of the evil consequences of the tempting serpent of Eden; such is the main work of the savior. The savior wants to save the soul completely; for such a task he has to annihilate:
- Pilate, who represents the demon of the mind
- Caiaphas, who represents the demon of evil will
- Judas, who represents the demon of sexual desire
Those demons are children of Satan or Shatan, since they were born in Shaddai (Yesod, sex). Remember the meaning of Shaddai is: “field, demon, devil, fiend, goblin, gremlin, sprite, bogey, ghost, ghoul, incubus, Mephistopheles, phantom, daredevil, etc.” Thus from Shaddai is born any devil, and from Shaddai is born any Angel; it depends upon how you use your sexual energy.
Jesus annihilates that through the Eight Venustic Initiations. This is how the savior comes from the woman and develops within you. The savior has to eliminate the evil seed of the serpent, namely: lust, anger, pride, greed, envy, gluttony, laziness, etc. This is why he goes to the cross and descends into hell in order to annihilate that and thereafter resurrects without the evil seed of the serpent within, meaning without any defects.
This is the whole work of the woman and the serpent—the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman. It is a long process that begins in Genesis and ends with the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. So, the whole story of initiation is written in a cryptic, symbolic manner in Genesis. This is why Samael Aun Weor said:
“Wisdom is hidden within the Hebrew words... The teachings of the Ninth Sphere (Yesod) must be shown through Kabbalah in order for the people to know the truth.” —Samael Aun Weor, Tarot and Kabbalah
It helps to write the Hebrew words and learn the meaning of each letter. Then we will know that we are working with life, Chai, Chaioth, Chaim, Chavah, and the serpent. The serpent is always within us, tempting us to do the contrary.
Remember that temptation is fire and the triumph over temptation is light, lux, Lucifer. Therefore, the savior himself is Kristus-Lucifer, who works in Shaddai, the field of Yesod. The whole work of self-realization is performed there.
All of the masters from the Hebrew pantheon—beginning with Moses who wrote the book of Genesis—were serpentine masters. Jesus said:
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.
Here we find how these two great masters—from Judaism and Christianity—are joined by the serpentine wisdom.
