Chapter:

Purification

To reach purification from any harmful psychological element, we need to work with three defined stages:

  1. Observation
  2. Judgment
  3. Elimination

The harmful elements in us do not deserve forgiveness or mercy. They are the cause of suffering, and can only produce suffering. They must be eliminated.

During observation, we pay close attention to how the element attempts to influence our three brains: intellect (thoughts), heart (emotions), and body (impulses, desires). Observation is a process of collecting facts, not theories or guesses. At trial, only facts are considered.

Observation that only gathers data through the five senses of the physical body is akin to a detective who lacks evidence from the scene of the crime. The scene of the crime in us is psychological. Thus, we need to gather psychological evidence. That is, we need to observe the facts of our thoughts, feelings, and impulses as they actually happened. For this to be effective, we need to gather data in two ways:

1. By observing the element that is active in us in any given moment

2. By scientifically reviewing the scene of action; this is a technique of meditation

Without conscious observation of ourselves from moment to moment, we cannot gather the facts regarding how our psychological gang operates.

Without profound meditation on the actions of those elements, we cannot perceive their inner, psychological roots.

Observation and meditation must accompany one another in our daily life.

Observation must be active, awake, and continuous.

Meditation must be perfectly relaxed, totally withdrawn from the exterior world, and capable of profoundly clear visualization.

Both observation and meditation have a single goal: to gather information.

For observation and meditation to be effective, they must be free of the influence of any psychological element. In other words, our point of view must be the work of free, unconditioned consciousness that observes without pride, shame, envy, lust, craving, aversion, gluttony, greed, laziness, or any type of self-will.

After we have gathered sufficient facts for analysis, we can judge the element and condemn it.

Judgment occurs when we are convinced of the crime and its cause, and repentance emerges spontaneously.

When we unable to act on the impulses of the element, we have comprehended it. An element of anger is comprehended when, upon suddenly seeing the former object of our anger, we do not feel anger, but love. This shows that the element of anger that previously influenced us cannot any longer, and is ready to be eliminated.

Elimination is given by the divine. Elimination of psychological formations is performed by the Divine Mother in us. She is able to accomplish this if we have saved our sexual energy and dedicated it for her use.

She, the Divine Mother, has the power to create life and to take it. She is Athena, Kali, Tara, Mary, Hera, Aphrodite. She is Kundalini.

Those who do not eliminate the psychological errors by their own will are subjected to purification in hell. That is the domain of Persephone, Hekate, the goddess of the underworld, who oversees the purification of conditioned consciousness.

Therefore, whether by our will during our daily life now, or against our will while descending into hell after death, the Divine Mother cleanses us of our errors. It is better to do it on our own. This is a superior action that originates enormous benefits. One of those benefits is that She can forgive us of many kinds of karma. She is our mother, and loves us dearly. She does not want to see us suffer.
