Judas

The name Judas (Greek) is a translation from the Hebrew name Judah, the most exalted tribe of Israel. In Hebrew, Judah is יהודה, a very significant name that joins the most holy name of God (יהוה) with the letter ד Daleth, which represents a doorway and is the first letter of the word Daath (knowledge), indicating the secret teachings.

The name Judas is most known in relation to two disciples of Jesus, particularly Judas Iscariot, who led the Rabbis to Jesus and began the process of his torture and crucifixion, a role that has since associated the name Judas with betrayal.
