Physically, either (1) a ring of bones around the neck or (2) a string of beads numbering 108. Such prayer beads are common in Eastern and Western religions, and they normally number 108. This number also carries many levels of meaning, but primarily the beads are a reminder to the spiritual aspirant that our time in a humanoid body is short: the normal cycle of manifestations in a human body is limited to 108; those who fail to acheive the Self-realization of the Being within their 108 lives are recycled by nature through the process of devolution and the Second Death.
