Nychthemeron, The Hours of Apollonius, Part 1

“And Elohim said, Let there be [two] lights in the firmament of the heavens [of the consciousness] to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs [or symbols], and for seasons [or for humiliations and exaltations], and for days [or initiations], and years [or esoteric ages]: And let them be four lights [guidance] in the firmament of the heavens [of the consciousness] to give light [to the mind] upon the earth [physicality]: and it was so. And Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day [the Mera], and the lesser light to rule the night [the Nychta]: he made the stars [of the zodiac] also”... - 1: 14-16  

And the evening and the morning were the fourth Nychthemeron. 

Nychta- Mera. Nychthemeron.  Nychthemeron is a Greek word which is divided into two words: Nychta and Mera.  Nychta is "night" and Mera, ”day”, “daytime”.  Nychthemeron literally means a night and a day or a night enlightened by the day. It is equivalent to, “And the evening and the morning were the first day,” and likewise, the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth days of the first chapter of the book of Genesis.  

The beginning of the Nychthemeron is the point where the setting sun intersects the circle of the horizon. Therefore the Nychthemeron extends from the moment when the sun disappears from the horizon until his next disappearance on the same horizon the following day. From this point of view it is obvious that the timespan of night and day, of the Nychthemeron, is made of 24 hours.   

Thus, only from this strictly Solar alchemical and kabbalistic point of view, the night and day of each one of the days of Genesis have 24 hours.  We are going to study these hours from this solar point of view, since the time that the Nychthemeron addresses is not the ordinary time that we experience in this three dimensional world.  As we know, the clock with twelve hours relate to twelve hours of light and twelve hours of night.  These solar hours have precisely a meaning in this Nychthemeron. Christ, the Sun, is named in Greek mythology: Apollo. In the book, “The Gnostic Bible: the Pistis Sophia Unveiled”, Master Samael Aun Weor explains very clear that Apollo, the sun, in the internal planes, in our dreams, symbolizes the Christ:

“The Sun of Midnight guides the initiates in the superior worlds. The initiates must know the symbolic movements of the Sun of Midnight. Sunrise is equivalent to the birth, to the rising, and to the manifestation of Him, etc. Sunset allegorizes the death of something, the descent of something, etc. The Sun, with complete splendor in midday, allegorizes complete plenitude, complete triumph, success of such and such initiation, etc..We are emphatically referring to the Sun Christ, the Logos, the Astral Sun. The mystics see the Astral Sun. He guides them along the path of the razor’s edge.When the clouds of the sky are covering the Astral Sun, this signifies that the animal ego is still very strong within the Initiate”.  - Pistis Sophia Unveiled by Samael Aun Weor

From this Greek name Apollo comes the name of a great sage that existed in the first century in the Christian era whose name was Apollonius; this name means “of Apollo,” or  better said, “of the Sun.” The Nychthemeron relates to the 12 hours of Apollonius, the twelve hours of the sun.  When you observe the horizon, the time when the sun sets and is sinking into the ocean is precisely the moment of its entrance into the submerged world which is called Klipoth, Hell, inferno. The Sun gives its light even to the infernal dimensions.  If you observe this symbolism, that is, Apollo sinking into the abyss, into Klipoth, into the infernos, you then will understand how the Solar light, the Ray of Creation, that begins in the Ain Soph Aur, the Solar Absolute, descends through the Tree of Life through all the ten Sephiroth to finally sink into the West which is precisely Malkuth, the earth.  In Kabbalah the East is Tiphereth, the sixth Sephirah of the Tree of Life, and the West is Malkuth, the earth. When the sun sinks into the West, it is sinking into the abyss, to finally reach the ninth sphere were Dante found Lucifer which is a Latin word that means Light Carrier - from lux - lucis "light" + ferre "carry" - luci-ferry.  Lucifer.  

The Sun Christ, Apollo in Greek, mythology, when sinking into the abyss becomes the Latin Lucifer,  in Greek it is called Apollyon, the destroyer. Behold here the root of the same name: Apollo, Apollonius and Apollyon the destroyer, which the book of Revelation talks extensively about. Apollyon is called the angel of the abyss.  

Remember that we are citing the name Apollyon in a Kabbalistic alchemical manner.  We are not talking about any individual.  Apollo, Christ is a Solar force, a Solar energy that during the day gives the light and during the night sinks into the abyss in order to do what he has to do.  The abyss, inferno, Klipoth, the nine spheres of hell, are the place where the souls pay their karma and where their iniquities are finally disintegrated and destroyed by the fire of the earth which is the solar fire.   The solar light transformed is nature, which transforms its light into fire in the inferior dimensions.  Now of course we the Gnostics know that eventually the ego which is what we call lust, anger, pride, greed, envy, gluttony, laziness, will eventually be destroyed within the inferior regions of this planet.  This is a mechanical process that the souls of any planet experience in their own particular inferior dimensions.  The psyche becomes clean in the inferior dimensions, mechanically.  

Now there is a way for the initiates, the adepts, to annihilate their inhuman animalistic elements from their psyche by their own will; this is an initiatic process which endures twelve alchemical hours in accordance with the Nychthemeron.  Apollonius wrote the Nychthemeron based on this initiatic path of twelve hours which are twelve hours related with the famous twelve works of Hercules. The work that we have to do with the Sun.  The work that we have to do with Apollo, with Christ, the Solar energy within each one of us.  This is how the Nychthemeron is explained. 

The Solar path is written in synthesis in Genesis.  Many times we state that Genesis is the book of the Gnostics.  A book of alchemy and Kabbalah that is studied in different manners. If you observed the book of Genesis it talks about the Nychthemeron, the night and day, which Genesis refers to as “the evening and the morning was the first day”. Obviously a day has twenty-four hours, but I repeat these hours are not the hours we experience in this three dimensional world, but the hours related with the path of the Self-realization of the Being.  

Each day has twenty-four hours which is the experience of the earth rotating in itself, as you know.  In this case the earth is Malkuth which is us.  In many Lectures we state that Malkuth is the earth.  But physically speaking Malkuth is us.  It is the way in which the Solar light spins around us.  Remember that the day and night in this physical plane is happening in accordance with the sunlight.  In summer for instance the days are very long. The light of day is very long and the night of those days are short, but all of them sum twenty-four hours.   

This is precisely the point where many investigators fail when trying to investigate the days of Genesis.  We say these hours are not related with physical time or the conventional twenty-four hours but that these relate to other time, another cosmic time.  Now we are stating that it relates to the twenty-four hours, but from an esoteric point of view, within us.  

Remember that there also exist the Zodiacal belt with twelve constellations; these twelve constellations are related with these twelve hours. They also relate to the twelve apostles and twelve tribes of Israel, which are related with Tiphereth [splendor], the center of the Tree of Life.  These twelve hours, these twelve zodiacal signs are related with the two lights addressed in the fourth day of Genesis:  

“And Elohim said, Let there be [two] lights in the firmament of the heavens [of the consciousness] to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs [or symbols], and for seasons [or for humiliations and exaltations], and for days [or initiations], and years [or esoteric ages]: And let them be four lights [guidance] in the firmament of the heavens [of the consciousness] to give light [to the mind] upon the earth [physicality]: and it was so. And Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day [the Mera], and the lesser light to rule the night [the Nychta]: he made the stars [of the zodiac] also”. 1: 14-16 

Eliphas Levi explains in his books that the 12 Sings of the Zodiac correspond to the twenty-four crowned elders in the Apocalypse: 

“It is known that the Signs of the Zodiac correspond to various celestial influences and consequently signify an annual alternative of good or evil [light and night]”.

Master Samael Aun Weor also states that there are twenty-four elders, two for each constellation that relate to the twelve zodiacal signs. The twelve hours are the twelve  Saviors or twelve Horus, which correspond to the cosmic voyage of the light of Horus, the Sun, around the twelve hours of the clock or Zodiacal Belt.  The light of Horus is hidden in these Twelve Hours or stars of heaven.

Remember the book of Revelation states:

“The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him [Ain Soph Aur] that lives for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord [Solar Absolute], to receive glory and honor and power: for thou [Cosmic Christ] hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created”. - Revelation 4: 10, 11

These are the twenty-four elders that throw their crowns before him, who is Christ the Solar light, Horus or Apollo, that sat on the throne or central nervous system.  

This is an alchemical work that we have to perform between night and day, between nychta and mera, the Nychthemeron, which is a process within every single initiation because every day of Genesis is related with the Nychthemeron.  The book of Genesis describe these four and twenty hours of the Nychthemeron, “And there was the evening and the morning” or the twelve hours of night and twelve hours of day in order to complete the twenty-four hours of our first voyage, or initiation or first day.  This is why the time table, the Nychthemeron is shown by Apollonius. This means, the Nychthemeron is the time table of Apollo, of Horus, of the Sun, in order to show us the process in which we are regarding the level or hour which relate to that particular development that we are doing through our initiatic life.  

Sometimes during dreams we see the clock.  Two o’clock, three o’clock, ten o’clock, thus, if we remember the time we saw on the clock during our dreams, such an hour is showing us, is telling us, something in relation to the twelve hours of Apollonius.  

The Nychthemeron is related to the development of the true human being which in Hebrew, in the Bible, is named Adam and which is translated as man.  In order for us to understand how Adam relates to the Nychthemeron in a simple way, let us explain it in a Kabbalistic manner.  Let us multiply the twenty-four hours of a day by the six days described in the first chapter of the book of Genesis. Thus, twenty-four multiplied by six gives us the total of one hundred forty-four hours.  Let us take now the Hebrew alphabet and enquire how these one hundred forty-four hours related to Adam. The value of Aleph is one; the value of Daleth is four, and the value of Mem is forty. Aleph, Daleth and Mem spell Adam.  This is why it is written that Adam is made in the six day of Genesis. 

“And Elohim said, Let the earth bring forth the living soul after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good. And Elohim said, Let us make Adam in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So Elohim created Adam in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them”. - Genesis 1: 24-27

Thereafter, Moses explains in the fifth chapter of the book of Genesis:

“This is the book of the generations of Adam [or of how Adam was generated]. In the day that Elohim created [or generated the androgynous] Adam, in the likeness of Elohim made he him; male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created”.

So, if we make the addition of the numerals 1440 of the letters Aleph, Daleth, Mem of the name Adam we make the synthesis of nine.  The ninth sphere is Yesod.  In synthesis, Adam was made in the ninth sphere, which is where we find the union of the image and likeness of Jehovah or Yod Hei Vav Hei. 

According to the Tree of Life, the four letters Yod Hei Vav Hei relate, in synthesis, to the four worlds of Kabbalah. Namely, the letter Yod whose value is ten relates to the world of archetypes or Atziluth.  The value of the two letters Yod and Hei make the addition of fifteen and relate to the world of Briah, the world of creation.  The value of the three letters Yod, Hei, Vav, make the addition of twenty-one and relate to the world of Yetzirah, the world of formation and of Angels. And the value of the four letters Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei, make the addition of twenty-six and relate to our physicality, Malkuth, Assiah. Thus, 10+15+21+26 makes the addition of seventy-two.  This is precisely why in Kabbalah we state that God has seventy-two names; seventy-two 7+2 is equal to 9 nine.  In synthesis , the 72 names of God are equal to nine, which is also the synthesis of the number of Adam.

This is how Kabbalistically, its explained how Adam is made into the image and likeness of Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei.  This is why we find Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei or the famous Tetragrammaton, written on one of the arms of the mysterious star, the Pentagram, and the name of Adam on the other. The Pentagram symbolizes Apollo, Christ, Horus, which also symbolizes Adam Solus.  Adam Solus, the Solar Adam or in other words the Solar Man, the Christ incarnated in Adam, the Man.  

This is why we find Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei and Adam written on the arms of the Pentagram. The Pentagram is a powerful symbol since, as we explained above, each one of these two names are equal to nine.  

Moreover,  the four letters Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei, sum 26, which is equal to 8; plus the three letters Aleph, Daleth, Mem of Adam sum 1440, which is equal to 9;  and 26 + 9 = 35, which is equal to 8, the infinite.

The two names: Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei and Aleph, Daleth, Mem of Adam are written above on the arms of the Pentagram because in Kabbalah the Solar Man is called Adam Yod Hei Vav Hei or Adam Yod-Havah; the Adam made into the image and likeness of Elohim.  This is also the Adam Kadmon, the symbol of the Cosmic Christ.  

The value of the letters of Adam equals 9 and the value of the four kabbalistic worlds synthesized in Yod-Hei Vav Hei equals 72, which equals 9. Thus, if we add the two nines 9+9 = 18; 1+8 = 9.  

If we place the Pentagram upside down, then these two nines also symbolize the expelling of Adam from Eden into Malkuth, the kingdom of the beasts because of the crime of expelling Yod-Hei Vav Hei from his body as a beast. Thus, the mind, heart and sex of Tiphereth [sixth sephirah], the man, become a three centered beast 666, a demon or fallen angel, which is totally the opposite of the Edenic Man, the Solar Adam. 

Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man [Adam]; and his number is Six hundred sixty-six [18]. - Revelation 13: 18

Behold the Tetragrammaton, and the meaning of Adam Yod Hei Vav Hei on the arms of the Pentagram, which is a powerful symbol.  This symbol encloses the mystery of the five lights, the five helpers.  Let us read what the Pistis Sophia states in the first chapter:

“It came to pass, when Jesus had risen from the dead, that he passed eleven years discoursing with his disciples, and instructing them only up to the regions of the First Commandment and up to the regions of the First Mystery, that within the Veil, within the First Commandment, which is the four and twentieth mystery without and below - those (four and twenty) which are in [Briah] the second space of the First Mystery which is before all mysteries, the Father in the form of a dove.

And Jesus said to his disciples: “I am come forth out of that First Mystery, which is the last mystery, that is the four and twentieth mystery.” And his disciples have not known nor understood that anything existed within that mystery; but they thought of that mystery, that it is [Kether] the head of the universe and the head of all existence; and they thought it is the completion of all completions, because Jesus had said to them concerning that mystery, that it surrounded the First Commandment and the five Impressions and the great Light and the five Helpers and the whole Treasury of the Light [the Pentagram]”. 

These are the first two paragraphs of the Pistis Sophia.  They indeed enclose all of the mysteries as we can see.  

The Pentagram enclose the five impressions and the Great light, which is the Solar light.  The five impressions and the Great Light that Jesus explains relate to the whole Treasury of the Light.  What is the Treasury of the Light?   It is the Solar light. It is the Sun; it is the Solar force of the Solar Absolute that gives life to all of the universe.  

Jesus also explains that the First Mystery is the last Mystery, which is the four and twentieth mystery.  What is the First Mystery that relates to the first hour of Apollonius?  The First Mystery is equal to the four and twentieth mystery, which is the study of the mysteries of Malkuth, our physicality, which are equal to the twenty-four hours of night and day.  The twenty-fourth mystery is 2+4 equals 6, or the creation of Adam, 1440, in the sixth day which is 24 hours multiplied by 6 days.  If you inquire in the Tarot you discover that the twenty-fourth Arcanum is the weaver.  The weaver is the mystery of the Divine Mother Nature, weaving the loom of God, the mystery we are explaining here. 

The twenty-fourth mystery relates to Malkuth, because we stated Malkuth has twenty-four hours.  In other words, these twenty-four hours relate to the twenty-fourth mystery, which is the weaver or nature. The Divine Mother that weaves the destiny of every soul through the Solar light, the First Mystery.  The strands of the loom of the Divine Mother Nature are made of Solar light. The rays of the Sun are the strands of light that Mother Nature weaves within the different elements which become the different light forces that we need to acquire in order to develop spiritually, psychologically.  This is why nature is the wife of God.  

The First Mystery is Kether, the Crown, the Father of all the lights. When we, Gnostics name the Father, we say, “the Father of all the lights,” Kether.  His wife is the twenty-fourth mystery, which is Malkuth, which contains all the lights.  That is why the First Mystery is equal to the twenty-fourth because the First Mystery is the Solar light, the light of the Sun, the light of the Father which is within nature.  This is why it is stated:

 “And on the seventh day [Malkuth] Elohim ended his work which he had made; and he rested on [Malkuth] the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And Elohim blessed [Malkuth] the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made.”

Elohim rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. In other words, Elohim rested on Malkuth, on Mother Nature from all his work which he had made. Why  is it the seventh day? Because among the lower seven Sephiroth, Malkuth is the seventh Sephirah. Thus, the solar forces develops through twenty-four hours within our Mother Nature.  In our case, Malkuth is our physical body which is our own particular nature.

Moreover, we remind you that in other lectures we talk about the seven cosmoses, and that the fifth cosmos is named Mesocosmos, which is the earth itself, or any planet, that is ruled by twenty-four laws.  Behold how nothing is missing here;  the sixth cosmos is the microcosmos that emerges from the twenty-four laws that rule every planet in itself and that relates to the twenty-four Arcanum, which is the First Mystery.  Thus, from the Mesocosmos emerges the five Solar bodies or five impressions of the light that form the authentic Microcosmos which is called the Pentagram. This also represents the Cosmic Christ, the Father in the form of a white dove. This is what Pistis Sophia states, “The white dove is the symbol of the Holy Spirit, Binah, Intelligence.  Through Binah, the Holy Spirit, Christ the Father impregnates Christ the Mother which is the twenty-fourth mystery in order for the five Solar bodies, which are the marvelous impressions of the Solar light, the Pentagram, the Sun, the Son as well, the Christ, to appear in us as the sixth mystery, the Microcosmos.   

This is why we find in the Gospels that when Master Jesus is talking as Christ he said: “I am the light of the world,” because the Solar light was incarnated in him. In Pistis Sophia he said; “I am come forth out of that First Mystery, which is the last mystery, that is the four and twentieth mystery.” This, is telling us a lot.  He is saying that the savior Yeshuah comes forth, it emerges from the First Mystery, but that the First Mystery is within nature, which is the last mystery, that is the four and twentieth mystery.  So, where is the Father the Creator?  We find Him within nature because He is the Solar light.  Thus, we find Him within the twenty-fourth mystery, which is the mystery of the weaver, our Divine Mother Nature.  

In the Venustic Cosmic Initiation, the Cosmic Mother is represented by that woman of Revelation who is clothed with the Sun, the day, and the Moon, the night, under her feet and upon her head the Nychthemeron, or crown of twelve stars. She is the twenty-fourth mystery having the mystery of the twenty-four elders from the twelve constellations or stars crowning her head. The two elders represent humiliation and exaltation for each one of the twelve constellations which relate to the twenty-four hours of night and day. The Cosmic Mother is above, in Daath, being with child, travailing in birth and pained to be delivered into Malkuth, our own individual physicality or Mother Nature below.  

Behold here how the Christic work that we have to perform relates to the stellar Solar light, and how it relates to the Sun and to the Moon in Malkuth, to the Nychthemeron that we have to study in detail in order to comprehend what level we are at.  Remember every initiation, every single day, has twenty-four hours, which are divided into night and day, evening and morning, Moon and Sun, which are  for signs or symbols for seasons or humiliations and exaltations, and for days or initiations, and years or esoteric ages.   

The Bible addresses this in a very cryptic manner, especially in the letters of the Apostle Paul of Tarsus.  When we read the Epistles or the letters of the Apostle Paul, who - not by coincidence – changed his name from Sheol or Saul to Paul or the apostle Apollo, as it is stated:

“Now this I say, that every one of you say, I am of Paul; and others I am of Apollos” (Corinthians 1: 12).  

 “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven [from Apollo, the Sun]. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” (Acts 9: 3) 

A-Paul, Apollo talks very clear about the Nychthemeron, in 2 Corinthians 11:23-29.  He says, 

“Are they Diakonos (a word that means ministers or what in Sanskrit means Bodhisattvas) of Christ?”  

In other words, are they really following the light of the Sun? Given that Paul always talks about the internal Christ which is the Solar light that we have to develop, he continues, 

“I speak as a fool”

Meaning it is our human nature which speaks as a fool because among the cards of the Tarot, the card 21 is the Fool which relates to the ego that we have.  Yet, Christ is the light from heaven, the Solar light of Apollo. It is the light of the world, the light of life, which enlightens or gives wisdom to every man that comes into the world. It is light that gives life to anything that was made. It is the light that suddenly shone round about Saul in his journey to Damascus.  So, who is the one that always talks about Christ?  In my case, in my example, it is the Fool.  I am the Fool.  Thus, the physicality, the personality, of any speaking initiate, is the Fool.  The initiate finishes, ceases, to be the Fool when he resurrects.  Before resurrection everybody is a fool.  That is why Paul says, “I speak as a fool,” as a mad man because he is still in process.  What process?  The process of the Nychthemeron,  Paul continues saying:

I am more [I have been] in [the 12] labors more abundantly, been in prison (karma) more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to (psychological) death again and again.

When people read the former quotation, they think on death as in dying physically. No, no, no, no.  Paul refers to psychological death because when we experience the Nychthemeron we experience the process of the annihilation of our ego.  If we want to rise with the Sun, we have to first sink into the abyss, into our subconsciousness, infraconsciousness. There where we find our filthy lust, our disgusting anger, our greed, our pride, our laziness, our gluttony, our envy.  We sink into the abyss in order to disintegrate all of our defects which are our animal elements. For that we have to also sink into meditation and to dive into the unconsciousness which is hell in us, where our devils abide. This, in order to die again and again through comprehension. 

The Solar light of Apollo destroys the ego as Apollyon the destroyer.  Do you understand this?  When we sink into our own abyss, then the Solar light of Apollo, which is Christ that we have to incarnate, becomes Apollyon the angel of the abyss, who destroys Saul, Sheol, the hell, which is inside us.  Christ is the star that fell from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit (Revelation 9:1).

Revelation talks about many things, many cryptic things.  In it is stated that “the angel of the abyss opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun [Apollo] and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have [sexual] power”… and many other mysteries that are Kabbalistic. “And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Greek is Apollyon, the destroyer”.  We are not going to go into the Hebrew name Abaddon because now we are addressing Apollyon who is Greek.  

Apollyon is the destroyer and of course this is related with the prophecy which in this day and age is being fulfilled by the Master Samael Aun Weor who is the fifth impression of the light of the Pentagram, who brought the knowledge of Christ, the Solar light of Apollo. Samael acts in two ways, above he grants his light or Solar light of Apollo so that the darkness below of the angel of the abyss, Apollyon, the destroyer, can be destroyed.  

“I want you to know that when a race loses all interest in solar ideas, the Sun [Apollo] also loses all interest for that race and [as Apollyon] destroys it. In these moments, the Sun wants to destroy this race, because it is already useless for the experiment. However, before it destroys it, the Sun performs a supreme effort. With great effort, the Sun attains a harvest, albeit a small harvest of solar humans”.  - Samael Aun Weor

Let us continue reading what Paul of Tarsus is experiencing in his Nychthemeron.

“Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day. I have been in the deep [better said, in the face of the deep of] ”. Genesis 1: 2.

In Greek it is written: “I spent a Nychthemeron in the open sea.” The open sea is the symbol of the creative waters of life in us, in the planet and in nature. To have been in the deep of the sea is to have been in the bottomless pit, the symbol of the sexual force.

“I have been constantly on the move.  I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers.  I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.  Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.  Who is weak, and I do not feel weak?  Who is scandalized, and I do not inwardly burn?”  - Corinthians 11:23-29

This passage indicates that everything that happened to Paul, occurred not only outwardly but also inwardly, inside of him. It relates to all of his psychological processes as he verifies in his other letters:

 “For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.” - Romans 7: 14-25

Thus, in order to destroy the sin that dwells in us, we have to sink into the abyss; which is into the night.  This is precisely the problem here in the initiation.  Sometimes the initiate is working during the day, during the mera, during his good morning or kalimera as it is say in Greek. In his mera, in his morning, in his day, he is good and his light is developing since the Lord is with him, but if he wants to rise more in the light again and to be higher than the level on which he is, then, he has to sink into the abyss because the light is taken from the darkness. We cannot take the light from the light but from the darkness.  It is written: 

“In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was formless and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters.

And Elohim said, Let there be light: and there was light. And Elohim saw the light, that it was good: and Elohim divided [better said, extracted] the light from the darkness [of our own unconsciousness, subconsciousness, and infraconsciousness]. And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day [of the Nychthemeron]”. - Genesis 1: 1-5

When Elohim said, “let there be light,” Elohim said it while hovering upon the darkness that was upon the face of the deep, thus, darkness said, “and there was light.” So, this is how light shone from within the face of the deep.  Indeed, this is a process of alchemy, of initiation. The first hour of the Nychthemeron of Apollonius says: 

“In unity the demons chant the praises of God they lose their malice and fury”. 

Who are these demons that lose their malice and fury?  These are you and me and all of those who enter into the path. The first hour is the hour in which we enter into the path.  When we understand that we have to save our sexual energy.  Why? Because all of the Nychthemeron is synthesized in the ninth hour, which is related to Lucifer, to sexual magic, to chastity. Such is the ninth hour.  It is written:

“Now from the sixth hour [where the spirit beholds all lustful monsters and does not fear] there was darkness over all the earth unto the ninth hour [which has been unveiled here]”.

“And about the ninth hour [the hour of sexual magic] Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” - Matthew 27: 45, 46

So, from the sixth hour to the ninth hour there was darkness on the earth, the physicality of the initiate.  Jesus died on the ninth hour.  It is because the complete death of the ego, that personifies all of the psychological defects that we have within, is performed in the ninth sphere in the very sexual act or by utilizing the Solar energy that is within your sexual organs.  The sexual organs give birth to life, yet, they also destroy it  as we are explaining here because the Solar light of Apollo is in the sexual energy.  If we utilize the sexual Solar light in the wrong way, that is, in a lustful manner, we then destroy our life. We become a very close friend of Apollyon yet, in a mechanical devolving manner.  One thing is to have Apollyon as a friend in a Kabbalistic initiatic manner, and another is to utilize the forces of Apollyon in a lustful manner in order to be destroyed in hell. Regrettably, this humanity likes Apollyon in a lustful manner; therefore, Apollyon will destroy them in the abyss, because they abuse their sexual Solar energy.  

The first hour is also related with what is written in the book of Genesis, namely,  “And the earth was formless and void,” because all of the elements of the first hour are in chaos, scattered everywhere.  This is why it is also stated that Yod-Havah Elohim formed Adam from the dust of the ground,” or from the fragments or pieces of the ground; Yod-Havah Elohim gathered all of them in order to mold Adam with his will.  Such is the first hour.  Where is Yod-Havah Elohim taking those fragments of earth, soil and dust in order to mold Adam with his will? He is taking it from Adamah, the ground. This is how it is written in the Bible. In Hebrew Adamah means ground, it represents the earth, the physical body, Malkuth, a feminine sephirah. The will of God is that Ruach Elohim that was moving over the genesic waters of the first day.  

Behold, this is how the Nychthemeron explains it: Adam is related with the ninth sphere, and Yod Hei Vav Hei as well, since - each name, as we already explained - Kabbalistically sum up to nine.  Do you realize that?  It is in the ninth sphere where Adam, the man is made into the image of Yod Hei Vav Hei Elohim.  Yod Hei Vav Hei is nine and Adam is also nine. They become one nine in the ninth sphere because 9+9 sum up to 18 and 1+8 is 9, Yesod,  the sexual energy, the sexual organs, the root of the Tree of Life. Yesod is also where Elohim is working, better said, the Ruach of the Elohim. Ruach means Spirit. Elohim means God and Goddess.  Thus, this is how the Ruach Elohim, or better said, the Spirit of God and Goddess move upon the waters of sexuality.  This Ruach Elohim is Binah, the Holy Spirit, the Creator, in the form of a white dove.  

Are you Christians?  Do you really want the Lord to be born within you?  Listen then, Jesus in the Pistis Sophia explains how. Jesus said, “I am come forth out of that First Mystery, which is the last mystery, that is the four and twentieth mystery. The First Mystery which is before all mysteries, the Father in the form of a dove,” meaning the Holy Spirit which is the Ruach Elohim.  In other words, when we know the mystery of sexual alchemy, we then learn how to sublimate our sexual Solar energy under the will of our Inner God. This is done when we remember and pray to God during the sexual act, thus God performs such sublimation through us and within us. Understand: the First Mystery is the Solar Spirit, the Ruach Elohim that rises in your spine from the waters of your physicality, your twenty-fourth mystery.  Thus, through twenty-four esoteric hours (2+4 sum to 6, the lovers) man and woman have to defeat their lust and their many psychological defects within each person. This is done through twelve, the twelve hours of Apollo, the Sun. The couple have to descend to the abyss first because each of the twelve hours of light has to connect to each hour of the twelve hours of darkness.  If you want the light to shine within, you have to take the light from the darkness. Thus, you have to sink within your darkness.  This is why we only talk about twelve hours, not twenty-four, but we understand that every hour has an evening and a morning as mentioned in the first day of Genesis.  The evening has twelve hours and the morning has another twelve hours, which make the twenty-four hours of the Nychthemeron.  

Do you realize that?  When you see the first hour in your dreams it is clearly telling you that you have to work within your subconsciousness, that you have to sink, that you have to make light in the darkness, that you have to work with the scattered fragments of Israel which are trapped within your psychosomatic nature. These are synthesized in your sexual organs.  Yes, the seed of the twelve tribes of Israel, the twelve archetypes of איש Eysh, Fire, Ra ר the Sun, and El אל God, Israel in Tiphereth are in your sexual organs.  Therefore, if you spill your sexual energy you cannot do any Solar alchemical work.  Yet, if you learn how to transmute your sexual energy and how to sublimate it to your heart, you then start working with the Nychthemeron’s first hour.  Then you will understand why Jesus kabbalistically said: 

“I am come forth out of that First Mystery, which is the last mystery, that is the four and twentieth mystery. - Pistis Sophia Unveiled

His disciples say unto him, Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you; and are you going there  again?

Jesus answered: “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees [Christ] the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the [twelve hours of the] night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him.” - John 11: 8-10

Through sexual alchemy is how the Lord INRI will rise in your spinal column as light.  INRI is your savior, your own particular individual savior, your own light that you awaken in the beginning of the development of the five Impressions and the great Light, the Pentagram, the five pointed star, within you.  Then of course you become a repented demon.  You then lose your malice and your fury because you no longer utilize your sexual energy in order to feed your lustful ego but in order to have light within your soul.   This is why the first hour of Apollonius is transcendental study of occultism. When people read that the first hour relates to transcendental study of occultism and to the unity of the demons that chant the praises of God and lose their malice and fury.  They might think, “Does this mean that we have to memorize the Bible so that we may orally praise God or that we have to accumulate a lot of esoteric books in order to become erudite?  Because, it clearly says, ‘Transcendental study of occultism?’”  No! It does not mean that.  Transcendental study of occultism means study of the divine hidden forces within you.  Such is the true study of occultism.  You do it when you sink into yourself in meditation and when you read, study your own book which is you.  The great masters who studied their divine hidden forces, wrote the Bible, the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita and many other sacred books and they wrote them in the same cryptic way, or hidden way, or occult way.  The Bible is a book of occultism as well as the Koran, the Zohar. Thus, we need to know, to learn how to study those scriptures, how to sink in those sacred scriptures in order to take the light hidden within them.  We do likewise when we read any Gospel from any religion in order to extract the light that is hidden behind the dead letter. 

“Study the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me”. - John 5: 39

Likewise we have to do it while in meditation within ourselves because all of us are books with a lot of light within.  Unfortunately we are trapped in Egypt.  The Twelve archetypes of Israel are trapped, are in bondage by our own pharaoh, our intellect within our own physicality, Egypt.  We live as slaves but we want to leave that slavery and the only way is by allowing the savior, the liberator, to come into us; Yet, first we have to allow our Inner God to gather all of the scattered elements from Adamah.  Then as a repented demon we kneel and chant praises of God and say, “God, I thank Thee, because I am losing my level of demonology, the demonic level in which I am, thus, I am starting to become the seed of an angel.  This is the beginning, the first hour, when we are condemned to psychological death.  

The second hour is the study of the occult forces in relation with nature, the duad.  

“By the duad the zodiacal fish chant the praises of God; the fiery serpents entwine about the caduceus, and the thunder becomes harmonious”.  

The thunder is the Word.  Number two, the second hour, is related with the twenty-fourth mystery because the First Mystery or the first hour comes from the second hour because they are related.  As it is written:

“The First Commandment, which is the four and twentieth mystery without and below - those (four and twenty) which are in [Briah] the second space of the First Mystery which is [Daath] before all mysteries, the Father in the form of a dove”.

Who is this zodiacal fish?  Well the Bible call it Leviathan, the dragon of the sea that rises from the waters below and goes up to the higher waters of Daath.  The duad is the mystery of the Divine Mother.  Daath of course is performed in the ninth sphere, because by the duad, by the woman and the man in the sexual act, in chastity, is how we start working with our Leviathan, working with the dragon.  Now, it comes into my mind the dragon from Norse Mythology. The dragon that Merlin was controlling was within the forces of nature.  All of nature forms the body of the  dragon, yet, there does not exist a better or more perfect symbolic element, where we can find the dragon hidden in nature, than the woman.  Is the dragon hidden within the woman? Yes, or better said, she is the dragon.  The forces of the dragon express themselves more perfectly through her female body than in the male body.  If we talk about humanity, the woman is more human than we, the males.  She is more in tune with nature, with the dragon, with the forces of Lucifer (Christ in Greek because Lucifer is Latin).  This is why if a man wants to enter into the mysteries of the duad he needs a dragon, a woman.  If a woman needs to enter into the mysteries of the duad, the second power, she needs a male dragon.  If you see the male dragons are always small, the female dragons are always bigger, they have more force.  Who creates?  The male dragon gives the seed, the sperm. The female dragon develops it in nine months, nine months of life in her womb.  She has more energy.  Therefore the males that reject the female are out of their minds because they cannot develop without the woman.  The forces of nature are within the woman.  The second hour is to know how to deal with the woman, with the female and with nature as well.  That is why the second hour is the study of the occult forces of nature.  The study of occultism is within you; you sink into yourself, in order to create light from your psyche from the elimination of your ego.  Yet, if you want to develop and receive help from the Lord, the Word, the Thunder, Lucifer, you then need the duad. You need the Leviathan; you need the fish, the zodiacal fish.  In other words, you need the Nun, the sperm and the ovum united by the cross; you need the power of the Leviathan. 

“In the Third hour the serpents of the hermetic caduceus entwined three times;  Cerberus [the dragon] opens his triple jaw and fire chants the praises of God with the three tongues of the lightning”. 

That is the direct work with the Kundalini.  The third hour relates to the Fire that is rising in the spinal medulla based on the psychological work of the first and second hours. The woman is a gymnasium for the man and likewise the man is a gymnasium for the woman in order to die psychologically.  If a man wants to defeat the dragon as a great knight, he has to control his woman, but not in a bestial way, but in a wise way.  Like a knight that fights for his lady, and the lady likewise. She has to control her knight in order to defeat the dragon.  If they become enticed by the Fire of the dragon they then fall into fornication, like Lancelot when he falls into the arms of Guinevere.  The third hour is the work with the Christic Fire of the Kundalini; which is the Fire issued from the mouth of the dragon, the Christic Fire of Kundalini that should rise in our spine.  This is why it is written:

 “Then Jesus ascended or soared into the height [through our spine], shining most exceedingly in an immeasurable light. And the disciples gazed after him and none of them spake, until he had reached unto heaven [their head]; but they all kept in deep silence.... And all the powers in the heavens ceased not from their agitation, they and the whole world, and all were moved one against the other, from the third hour of the fifteenth day of the moon of Tybi [the dragon] until the ninth hour of the morrow”. - Pistis Sophia Unveiled

It is also written: 

“And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the superscription of his accusation was written over, INRI [Ignis Natura Renovatur Integra; the fire renews nature incessantly]. And with him they crucify two thieves [the two serpents of the hermetic caduceus]; the one [Pingala] on his right hand, and the other [Ida] on his left. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered [the third, the Sushumna] with the [two serpents or] transgressors”. - Mark 15: 25-28

Christ is crucified on Friday. The word Friday has its roots in Freya the Goddess of Love.  Christ is love, this is why he is crucified in Friday, because the man’s Lingam, the vertical beam, when crossed with the woman‘s Yoni, the horizontal beam, make the cross.  Christ was crucified on Good Friday, on good love, at three o’clock.  This also means that the Lord is crucified within your body thanks to the same cross.  Thanks to Sexual Magic that Fire ascends shinning most exceedingly within you.   When that happens within, you do not realize what is going on, because there is too much light. 

“And the whole earth was agitated and all they who dwell thereon. And all men who are in the world fell into agitation, and also the disciples, and all thought: Peradventure the world will be rolled up” - Pistis sophia Unveiled

Master Samael Aun Weor explains that when the Kundalini awakens in the Muladhara chakra, church of Ephesus, one sees within one’s psyche, a very brilliant, sparkling light equivalent to 10,000 suns that shine with happiness all on their own accord.The sun starts rising towards the East, better said, from the West to the East through your spinal column.  Such is the third hour, when you know how to work with INRI, your Kundalini, the Fire.   

“In the fourth hour the soul revisits the tombs; the magical lamps are lightened at the four corners of the circle: It is the time of enchantments and illusions”.  

The fourth hour is the hour in which you are assaulted by your own lustful egos and the egos of those who walk on the sinister path of the black lodge.  Temptress and tempters assault the initiates and try to make them fornicate, to fall into sin.  In the fourth hour, the initiate sees himself attacked by the demons, thus, he has to know how to defend himself, but first he has to defend himself from his own demons.  If you want to make a God our of your seven demons, then, comprehend that in order to do that you have to extract the light from your seven demons, which are your seven capital sins.  

These hours or times are also related as we will see with the book of Genesis. In the first hour Elohim gathers all the fragments, synthesized in the two gametes, in order to form the zygote or body of Adam.  In the second hour Elohim forms the internal organs, the two lungs, the two kidneys, the two hemispheres in the brain and all of that duality within the zygote or body of Adam, because Elohim is a dual plural word that means Gods and Goddesses.  Elah is a female name that ends in “Im”. That indicates a masculine plural ending.  Elohim is therefore male/female and likewise, physically speaking, Adam is made male/female.  In the second hour is when Elohim forms all the inner organs. Within the womb of the woman you see the same thing, in the first hour you see  how Elohim gathers all of the elements and fragments of light from within the womb of the woman in order to make the fetus and in the second hour, inside the fetus he divides the organs, and thereafter in the third hour the limbs of Adam appear: two arms, two legs,  of course in the same third hour the sexual creative organs appear. In the male it is the limb called phallus.  In other words the triad comes forth from the duad.  The triad, the phallus, emerges along with the duality, the testicles.  The phallus is the third that emerges from the duality. In the third hour, in the female body - which in herself represents the duad - the two polarities protrude as her breasts. Her masculine sexual force protrude out of her body like limbs, while her female genital organ develops inside.  Obviously all of these male-female sexual parts are created in the third hour.  

“And in the fourth [hour or fourth] watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit [since, it is the time of enchantments and illusions]; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be you, bid me come unto you on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth you are [the prime emanation of the Ain Soph Aur] the Son of Aelohim”. - Matthew 14: 25-33

In the fourth hour Elohim comes and blows in the nostrils of Adam, the breath of life and  Adam becomes a living soul.  In order for that to happen we have to experience the fourth hour.  We have to fight.  By means of meditation we have to gain Nephesh, Soul, Psyche, the Breath of Life. That is the fourth hour.  It is a fight we have to launch against ourselves, it is a psychological process. “In your patience you will gain your souls.” - Luke 21: 19  

“In the fifth hour, the voice of the great waters celebrates the God of the heavenly spheres”.  

In the fifth hours the initiate comprehends and understands through mediation the value of his sexual energy.  First intellectually and then in the forty-nine levels of the mind; we have to understand the value of the sexual force because in this day and age there are a lot of people who suffer the consequences of their sexual ignorance.  They do not know what they have in their sexual organs.  Sex encloses a powerful energy like an atomic bomb.  Sexual energy is a nuclear force that people cannot control.  When teenagers start feeling their sexual energy in their bodies, the first thing they do is to masturbate.  They fall into the lure of lust.  Women that cannot control that force end in prostitution, making business with the sexual force, making business with the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit, the white dove, is the sexual force.  If you wonder who are those who make business with the Holy Spirit, listen: they are those who fornicate; those who fall into porneia, porno, prostitution.  When we talk about porneia, prostitution, we are also talking about male prostitution.  

“And Jesus said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise”. - John 2: 16

The victims of porno or porneia do not know the value of their sexual energy. This is why they squander their sexual force in different manners.  Now, in this day and age, this is very common.  In order for you to understand the value of your sexual energy, you have to enter into your fifth hour.  In the fifth hour Adam stands on his feet and walks by his own will which God granted him. Listen, the fuel of that will is the sexual energy that rises through the central nervous system. This is the motor-instinctual-sexual brain that is related with the sexual, instinctual and motor centers.  Thus, when Adam stands - after had been made by God - and walks, he walks because of his motor-instinctual-sexual energy.  Adam knows how to utilize his central nervous system or motor-instinctual-sexual brain, because he understands the value of his sexual energy.  Those who do not understand the value of their sexual force cannot walk with Elohim. Let us remember in this moment Jesus healing a man who cannot walk; which is a symbol of the activation of the Fire through the central nervous system.

“And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why are you thinking these things in your hearts. Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, your sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, take up your bed, and walk? But that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto you, Arise, and take up your bed, and walk the path towards your house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all. - Mark 2: 8-12

A lot of fundamentalists in this day and age gather in order to see how the Holy Spirit performs the miracle of healing someone in a wheel chair, to see how that one will walk after being paralyzed. Anyhow, if that one does not take care of his sexual energy, that one will descend to hell, where he will experience the second death. Because, to walk is to know how to sublimate your sexual energy through the central nervous system.  

The voice of the fifth hour teaches us how to give value to the sexual force.  This is the voice of the great waters.  The great waters are the waters of Daath the heavenly waters, called Schamayim in Hebrew, where we find the God of the heavenly spheres. Elohim utilizes the sexual force in the heavenly spheres in the wise way  unlike the Demons in the infernal spheres of Klipoth.  Demons down here utilize the sexual force in a very stupid manner.  They watch porneo-graphics (Greek porneo means prostitutes ) in other words, pornography and masturbate; they fornicate even if they are legally married because fornication is not the sexual act out of marriage.  Porneo or fornication is to reach the orgasm or spasm of demons and beasts.  That is fornication.  This is why married couples also fornicate. Sexual sublimation is a process that we have to learn.

“And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour”. - Mark 27: 45

In the six hour the Spirit abides immovable. It beholds how the infernal monsters swarm down upon it and He does not fear.  This means, you must not fear yourself. There are two types of fear.  Fear of the unknown and fear to lose what you know or what  you own, which in the end you do not own.  People are so attached to things in this physical world, to their money, house, cars, to their name, to their race, religion and when they die they cannot take anything, thus, they take nothing to the beyond.  Why are they afraid of losing something that they do not own? Do we fear the unknown? Listen, if we awaken the consciousness we will make light in the darkness and we will see or experience that which is after death, so fear will disappear.  The way in order for us to defeat fear is to confront the guardian of the threshold.  It is a great initiation where you confront your own demons.  The guardian of the threshold is the personification of all the filthiness that you have within.  The more filthy you are, the more horrible the guardian will appear before you. So it is a part of you.  So, do not be afraid of yourself.  Throw yourself against yourself and kill yourself psychologically speaking.  You have to defeat the guardian of the sixth hour.  That is why at the sixth hour is when Adam gives names to all of the animals.  He develops the power of speech, the word. He names all of his animals. This means that he discovers all the words, all the phrases, wisdom, hidden within his own animals or psychological elements and by doing that he controls nature by means of what comes from nature, his own nature.  It is good to remember Jesus of Nazareth came to a city of Samaria, which was called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph, and he rested by an edge of a well, since He was thirsty.

“Now Jacob's well [Yesod] was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well [the ninth sphere]: and it was about the sixth hour [the hour of temptation]. There comes a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) Then says the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that you, being a Jew, ask drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria [a soul that preserve traditions, yet, a sinner a fornicator]? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give me to drink; you would have asked of him, and he would have given you living water. The woman says unto him, Sir, you has nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then has you that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob [Israel], which gave us the well [of sexual force], and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life”. - John 4: 5-14

This happens at the sixth hour, which is the mystery of sexuality, temptation, in which you have to control the lust of Nephesh, your animal soul, and to teach her how not to fornicate. Thus, if you keep reading that chapter it explains more about the sixth hour and also about adultery. And thereafter it goes into the seventh hour.

“And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. Then said Jesus unto him, Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe. The nobleman says unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. Jesus says unto him, Go your way; your son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, your son lives. Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. - John 4: 46-52

When people read, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him” they think, it was seven o’clock in the morning or seven at night, but they do not know that it refers to the seventh hour of Apollonius.  

“In the seventh hour a fire; which imparts life to all animated Beings is directed by the will of pure men.  The initiate stretches forth his hand and pains are assuaged”.

The fever, the fire left him.  That fire or fever is lust.  All of us are filled with that fiery fever.  A lot of lust, a lot of passional fever.  We really are very hot with that fever.  Do you want to be healed of that lustful fever?  Do we have problems with nocturnal pollutions; do we want to control the sexual energy but we do not know how because we are burning with fire, with fever. Listen, we have to pray to the Lord and have faith in the Lord and ask Him,  “Help me; heal me.  I do not want to be with this fever”.  The noble man who is talking to Jesus is the Monad and the son is the Soul because the child, the soul is the one that is sick and not the nobleman.  The father is well because the Monad is always healed.  Thus, by overcoming the sixth hour we are healed by God in the seventh hour.  

This is precisely described in the book of Genesis, where we read that God rests on the seventh day in order to make Eden, and in the seventh day God takes Adam and places him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it, because Malkuth, the seventh sephirah, as we explained in other lectures, the physical body, is no longer with fever, or lust. On Saturday those who follow the meaning of the seventh day literally, actually rest physically.  If you want to rest on the seventh hour or the seventh day you have to understand that God is resting in nature.  That is where God is resting. God is resting in the twenty-fourth mystery. Do you want to find God? You will find God in the tree, in the grass, in the atmosphere, and in you. The fire of God is everywhere. God is resting everywhere.  This is why for the man, Adam, the woman is his mother, because she is nourishing him psychologically, spiritually, physically. She puts him to trial. She becomes his daughter also because the woman becomes a daughter of a man through his wife.  The man makes the woman into a mother when he impregnates her, but also a mother of the Son of God, or Son of Man when he knows how to transmute his sexual energies. Thanks to the Fires of that woman or that dragon he makes his own Fire, his own Son of Man and the Son of Man is born within him.  The woman has to be a daughter for her husband, a mother for her husband, and a wife because the woman, the seventh hour is the wife of God.  God rests in nature as fire. Behold how this society is destroying nature.  They are abusing the wife of God.  They are lustfully extracting the fire of the mother of God, the wife of God because God as fire is resting in the seventh hour.  Do you want to rest with God, then take care of your fire, your fever; you have to destroy your lust, all of those demons that destroy the fire of nature.  The twenty-four hours are related to the twenty-four elements of Mother Nature.

“In the eighth hour, the stars utter speech to one another; the soul of the suns corresponds with the exhalation of the flowers; chains of harmony create unison between all natural things”.  

The eight is the number of the infinite.  In the eighth hour [Eli אלי removes the זבת flow from the flesh, in other words,] Elizabeth has to circumcise John, her child, in order for him to enter into Eden, the nuptial chamber.

It is written: "So יהוה Elohim sent him [Adam] out of the garden of Eden" (Genesis 3:23) And thereafter, it is written: "So he [Adam] drove out [יהוה], the Adam." (Genesis 3: 24). In other words, Yod Hei, Vav, Hei, drove Adam out of the garden of Eden, since Adam had already driven Yod Hei, Vav, Hei, away from his sexual organs.

In the eighth hour is when Adam joins Havah.  Two are united and four are rising.  Four because Adam and Eve are Yod Hei, Vav, Hei; and the value of Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei is 26 which sum 8.  To rise together is to resurrect Adam Havah from the dead.  In the eighth hour the initiate resurrects.  Nonetheless, in the eighth hour at our own particular level something is being born in us.  Something is resurrecting in us, something that we lost before is now being recuperated, acquired, through the alchemical work.  The alchemical work of course is the union of the two forces: Adam and Eve, Yod and Havah in both.  

“The mystery of the ninth hour must not be divulged but by Samael Aun Weor”.

We are explaining, divulging, here that the ninth hour is the key for all of the hours.  In the ninth hour - which is the hour in which you are right now - is when Adam receives the commandments from God. Adam knows God’s will.  In the ninth hour we have to learn how to transmute our sexual energy with our spouse.  In the ninth hour the angels teach you how to sublimate your sexual force.  In the ninth hour God gives his first commandment to you. The commandment from the Tree of knowledge which is your sex, and that is in the midst of the garden or your physicality. Its called the Tree of Good and Evil, since it depends on how you use it: for good or for bad, for the night or for the day, in accordance to the Nychthemeron. You shall not eat from it like a beast because if you eat like a beast from it you shall surely die with Apollyon in hell, in the ninth sphere, after being kicked out of Eden.  The ninth hour is the mystery of God commanding you to do what you have to do.  Are you accomplishing with the commandments of God within yourself? That is the ninth hour. The mysteries of Khristus Lucifer, the Christic Mysteries, correspond to the ninth hour. In the ninth hour the Lord ascends towards the North, the zenith.  

Now, from the 6th hour [the lovers, temptation] to the ninth hour [sexual alchemy] there was darkness all over the earth [all over the physicality of the lovers, because 6+9 is 15, the devil] and the Lord says: Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani, which [in Mayan language] means, “Now, I immerse myself into the twilight that precedes the dawning of his Beingness.” Such is the true meaning of Prometheus or Khristus Lucifer immersing himself into the West, into the darkness of our physicality, the earth, in order to rise in the East, through the mystery of the ninth sphere. - Matthew 27: 45, 46  

The ninth hour is all about the mysteries of the ninth sphere and the mysteries of Chokmah, Christ.  Which we have explained in a very broad manner because all of the lectures that we give are related with the ninth hour.  Christ, the light of the world, has to enter into your own mysteries so that he can  rise within you by means of the ninth hour. 

The ninth hour is the hour of Adam and the hour of God.  Adam crucified on the cross is rising to Adam Yod, Hei, Vav, Hei, in heaven to become an Adam Kadmon.  The ninth hour comes after the eight meaning that ascension begins after  resurrection. 

“The key of the astronomical cycle and of the circular movement of human life is in the tenth hour”.

The tenth hour is the hour in which if you do not know how to rise the Fire in your spine, and how to purify your head, that is, if you do not know how to sexually behave, you can then be kicked out of Eden again. 

In the tenth hour is when Adam and Eve committed fornication, which is when Eve’s ovum decapitates the sperm’s head of Adam; this is how Eve, the sexual organ ate the fruit that was commanded they should not eat, and gave death to Adam, the brain.  Initiatically, it is also related with the decapitation of John the Baptist; the mystery of John the Baptist.  

“The decapitation of John the Baptist occurs when the spermatozoon enters the ovum”. - Samael Aun Weor

You might say what? I have to experience the decapitation of John the Baptist in every day of twenty-four hours?  Yes, we have to; let us study the hours alchemically, at the ninth hour, sperm and ovum are transform into energy and as it, they rise through the spine and reach the head, through the neck, which is where the one, the spine, and the zero, the head, join. 1 and 0, spine and head, join in the neck.     

Thus, at the tenth hour the sperm from the waters of John the Baptist, is decapitated by the ovum of Salome, this means, that your sinful head, the zero, needs to be cutoff from your unity, the one, because if you are not decapitated then your materialistic head, in other words, your mind will make you fall, and lose the fire from your spine. Behold here the mystery of John the Baptist, the decapitation.  That means that during your Nychthemeron, any Day, or any Nychthemeron that you experience whether it is the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth day of Genesis, you experience the decapitation of John.  Master Samael states that every time a Serpent of Fire is passing through the neck, the initiate experiences the decapitation of John the Baptist, which is a great process of initiation.  The Gospel of John states that in the tenth hour Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist.

“The next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;  looking upon Jesus as he walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What do you seek? They said unto him, Rabbi, where do you dwell? He says unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwell, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour”. - John 1: 35-39

When you are experiencing the tenth hour you have to be decapitated in order not to follow your sinful mind but Yeshuah. So, at the tenth hour we have to meditate more in order to dominate our sinful mind, the donkey. The tenth reminds us of Malkuth, the tenth Sephirah.  At the tenth hour is the hour that you have to recognize your own sinfulness in order to follow the Lord, so that you can harvest something within you.

“In the eleventh hour the wings of the Genii move with mysterious and deep murmur;  they fly from sphere to sphere and bear the message of God from world to world”.  

At the eleventh hour is when we harvest the outcome of our deeds.  We harvest what we gain in accordance to our work. That is the eleventh hour.  

“For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day [at that time a penny was good], he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man has hired us. He says unto them, Go you also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall you receive. 

So when the evening was come, the lord of the vineyard says unto his steward, Call the laborers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do you no wrong: did not you agree with me for a penny? Take what is yours, and go your way: I will give unto this last, even as unto you. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is your eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen”. - Matthew 20: 1-16   

Such is the meaning of the eleventh hour, the harvesting.  At the eleventh hour Adam is taken out of Eden.

“And unto Adam God said, Because you have hearkened unto the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, you shall not eat of it: cursed is the ground for your sake; in sorrow shall you eat of it all the days of your life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to you; and you shall eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shall you eat bread, till you return unto the ground; for out of it wast you taken: for dust you are, and unto dust shall you return”. - Genesis 3: 17-19

Thus, this is the work that everyone has to do when entering into the eleventh hour.   

In the twelfth hour the works of the light eternal are fulfilled by fire.

The triumph of the eternal light above is done by means of sexual fire.  Another triumph in the twelfth hour is when you are redeemed from your sins at the level of any acquired initiation.  Remember that when you see the twelfth hour on the clock it is equal to seeing the sun at the zenith.  Observe the movement of the sun in the internal planes, in your dreams.  If the sun is rising then something has to be born within you or is being born within you.  If the sun is at the zenith, at noon, it means triumph inside you, after a lot of work, some initiation or degree.  When the sun is setting it means we have to go into our subconsciousness, unconsciousness in order to make light from our darkness.  Sunset, the Lord is communicating us that we must sink into our own sins, to comprehend them, in order to eliminate them through meditation.  Such is the movement of the Lord in your dreams.  This is the movement of the Lord in the West, Malkuth, our own physicality.  That is why it is written do not expect anything from the East but from the West, because when we sit to meditate we relax Malkuth, our physicality, in order to sink into Klipoth, our infraconsciousness in order to make light from our darkness.

From the East we can also receive when we pray to the Lord. Then we receive assistance, such assistance is help, mercy that we receive from the Lord.  There are many practices where we can receive more help from the Lord in the East, but the initiate expects more from the West.  Because the assistance you receive from the West when you enter into meditation and into your subconsciousness is a light that you harvest with a lot of work and remains within you and within your consciousness through the process of the Nychthemeron.  

The first initiation is a Nychthemeron; the second initiation is another Nychthemeron,  another evening and a morning, another initiation.  Of course this Nychthemeron enters into the higher levels when the initiate enters into the higher works, the twelve works of Hercules and the twelve repentances of Pistis Sophia. The sun is always rotating and giving life at different levels and different octaves until it reaches the highest.  The goal of the initiate is to go beyond the twelfth hour.  He wants to enter into the thirteenth hour which is the hour of complete liberation.  For that your sun has to circle around many times. Let us read John Chapter 11:1-10.  

“Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he [the soul] whom you [as Christ] love is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. Then after that he say to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.  His disciples say unto him, Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you; and are you going there  again? Jesus answered: “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees [Christ] the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the [twelve hours of the] night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him.”

When you read the story of Lazarus and how Jesus resurrects him from the dead and where Jesus says, “Are there not twelve hours in the day?” These twelve hours that Jesus mentions relates to the Nychthemeron.  Lazarus is an initiate that is on the verge of his resurrection.  This is why Jesus says, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep... Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.”

So, he resurrects Lazarus from the dead. Martha is with him.  Who is Martha? She symbolizes humbleness, humility.  If you become proud and vain of the work that you are doing Martha is not with you.  The initiate has hold the hand of Martha in order to resurrect.  Martha guides the initiate towards the Lord.  Martha walks with her sister Mary who represents Jesus’s Priestess and also the Divine Mother of Jesus, who symbolizes Christ, the Son of God that is going to be glorified within Lazarus.  

This could happen with any one of us.  But, we are not humble like Lazarus, because our pride and self esteem is not psychologically dead yet; at that time, the pride and vanity of Lazarus was dead, psychologically speaking.  

Indeed, right now, we are not like Lazarus since our corruption was preceded by our own pride and our downfall by our own self-rightousness. Yes, our mystic pride and mystic vanity are very much alive.  

“Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit has a man of all his labour which he takes under the sun? One generation passes away, and another generation comes: but the earth abides for ever. The sun also arises, and the sun goes down, and haste to his place where he arose.” - Ecclesiastes 1: 1-5

Yes, we are 97% demon and 3% angel.  The transition from demon to angel is done through the days of Genesis, through the Nychthemeron.

"For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.” - Matthew 24: 44

Audience: In Samael Aun Weor’s books does he explain that it is good to go into the tenth hour in order to meditate?  

Instructor: Master Samael said:

"As a rule, the Gnostic must retire to the bedroom at 10:00 p.m. daily, in order to practice internal mediation. The Gnostic must rise at dawn in order to practice all of his esoteric exercises." - The Yellow Book by Samael Aun Weor

Nonetheless, comprehend that the tenth hour of Apollonius teaches us isolation from the exterior world in order to meditate on our mundane nature at any time of the day; this is why the tenth hour relates to decapitation. The tenth hour teaches us that we must sink into our own mundane mind in order to comprehend it, so that we can sever our nonsensicality from our Spirit. Understand that decapitation is a psychological process of comprehension which is the beginning of the annihilation of the ego that we have within, thus, in the beginning when we experience the tenth hour of Apollonius we are decapitated.  The Divine Mother decapitates the ego, but the ego has to pass through different metamorphosis until it loses its size and ugliness until it becomes small and beautiful like a baby. Such a baby has to die also in order to release the Christic light.  This is the process of psychological annihilation, which begins with decapitation and is patiently performed at the beginning of the tenth hour. Understand, “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of Yod-Havah is to be praised!” (Psalm 113: 3) Therefore, each hour of the Nychthemeron must be comprehended while we are immersed in profound Meditation.

Audience: How does the metamorphosis of the ego happen?

Instructor: In the beginning you face a monster, but through meditation and decapitation that element in you loses its size little by little through the annihilation of the different aggregates that personify that ego until it finally reaches the moment in which he becomes like a baby.  And in the end, that baby turns into cosmic dust.  When that baby turns into cosmic dust it disappears, that defect disappears completely from your psyche.  That is a metamorphosis that happens within you in the night, the Nychta of the Nychthemeron. Now, there is another metamorphosis in the day, the mera of the Nychthemeron, which happens in the light; here your consciousness, your psyche experiences a transformation in the light through solar initiations. Your ego is the night and your soul is the day. That is the Nychthemeron.

Audience: How do you define these twelve hours in our daily practice? 

Instructor: These twelve hours are related only with our internal psychological development that we are performing at any time of the day. Thus, when we are working psychologically on ourselves and doing what we have to do, we always want to know at which level we are. Are we advancing or are we stagnate? Pray to your inner God, better said, pray to Apollo, to Christ, the Lord and ask him, please tell me at which level I am. Am I doing right? Or am I doing wrong? Then you have to remember your dreams. Because through the clock, the Lord can show you your psychological time, thus, according to the time you will know. You have to study the Nychthemeron, since through its hours, the Lord is answering your question. We have then study the hour and comprehend it. You sit down and meditate and say, 'lets see what the sun, the Lord is doing within me.' The Lord can also answer you by showing you a day full of sunshine. If that sun is in the zenith that means you are doing well. If it is rising, it means, keep working because what is rising, eventually will reach its summit. If the sun is setting in the West, the Lord is telling you that you need to meditate more and sink into your consciousness. That is how the Nychthemeron guides you. We need to be guided by Christ. The Lord, Christ is the light of the world. Remember that Christ when in the body of Jesus he said, “I am the Light of the world.” The light of the world is the solar light of the sun. This is how we work with the Nychthemeron in our psyche.

Audience: What happens if there is no sun and it is night? 

Instructor: That means our soul is trapped very deep in our subconsciousness, thus, we have to work more on the comprehension of our Self. Sometimes the initiate is desperate because all the dreams start in darkness and not in light, so what is going on? Well, we are in our subconsciousness and have to annihilate, comprehend, something; so, keep meditating, and eventually we will see the sun rising, some light will rise up from the meditation we are doing. So, if in our dreams we are only having nights, and nightmares well it is because we are in the abyss. Thus, we have to meditate more because to come out from the abyss is very difficult, whereas, to go in is easy. 

Audience: What time does the twelve-hour cycle start? 

Instructor: It starts after the eleventh hour, after the harvesting, at the twelfth hour, when man and woman undergo their sentence and their expiation begins, and their promised liberator, the solar light, the sun, starts sinking in the West and thereafter rises in the East and sinks again and make the complete twenty-four hours of the Nychthemeron. 

Audience: When does it start in this physical plane?

Instructor: It does not start in this physical plane, since the Nychthemeron is psychological. For instance, we cannot say when the Sabbath starts. Yesterday which was Friday evening, we were in the garden and we heard the sound of a siren, and we asked what it was for. They told us it was announcing the beginning of the Sabbath. Here in NY they sound a siren for the Orthodox Jews so that they can start their Sabbath, which begins when the sun sets. When they hear the siren, they stop doing any type of work because at sunset on Friday, it is the beginning of Saturday, which means the sun already sank into the West. The time was about eight P.M. So, the Sabbath varies according to the movement of the sun as the Nychthemeron varies in your psyche. Sometimes you can sink at three o’clock or at four o’clock, etc.. 

Audience: When does the Nychthemeron begin in the person?

Instructor: It begins when this person starts working with sexual chastity. Since all of the twelve hours are synthesized in the ninth hour. As we explained in the beginning, the ninth sphere is Yesod, the ninth sephirah. When you start the path of chastity that is the beginning of the Nychthemeron within you which extends according to the development of your chastity. When you finish with all of your lust completely, this is the end of the Nychthemeron. You then enter into the thirteenth hour, the hour of liberation. 

Audience: Is the progress described as the twelve hours the same as the progress described in the voice of the silence? 

Instructor: I really do not know. It might or it might not be, I do not know because I have never read that book in relation to the twelve hours. It might be related, because the voice of the silence is by Madam Blavatsky and all of her works as all sacred books are related with the twelve hours. Books are written with black letters because the light is behind the darkness. And you can extract the light when you know how to read those letters. Many people read in the darkness and continue in the darkness.

Audience: Can the Nychthemeron assist us according to our level even if we are unable to practice alchemy yet? 

Instructor: Well, Alchemy is transmutation, whether the person is single or married. Real sexual alchemy is the main point here. Thus, when you start working as a single person you are also working with the Nychthemeron at your single level. Any initiate that enters into chastity is working with the Nychthemeron. The ninth hour is related to the nine minor initiations, which are precisely the way through which the single initiate experiences every initiation, through the twenty-four hours of every day of the Nychthemeron. 

Audience: Would it be right to think of the Nychthemeron as a compass?

Instructor: It might, since the development of the human psyche relates to the twelve hours of night and twelve hours of day, measured by the twelve hours of the clock of the Nychthemeron. And the initiatic timetable for the movement of the Solar Logos relates to the compass, North-12 o’clock, South- 6 o’clock, East-3 o’clock, and West- 9 o’clock, 

Audience: What about in dreams when it comes out as a 10:30 or a 1:30?

Instructor: 10:30 is the tenth hour and 1:30 the first hour. So, whether it is 10 or 10:30 is the tenth hour. If it is 10:30 it means you are very ahead in the tenth hour. And you need only half an hour in order to accomplish the other half of the tenth hour, 30 minutes in order to finish with that hour or whatever that hours is. 

Audience: Can we add all the numbers of that hour in order to know the Kabbalistic number of it? 

Instructor: Yes, indeed, Every time table you see on the clock are numbers and you need to know how to add those numbers in order to find the Kabbalistic synthesis. On the path, kabbalah is always the language through which God speaks to you. 

Audience: Is this explained in the book Tarot and Kabbalah?

Instructor: Yes, it is. The whole book  Tarot and Kabbalah written by the Master Samael and all of his other books are related with the timetable; especially the book Tarot and Kabbalah. At the end of that book the synthesis of the twelve hours of Apollonius and the twelve hours of the Hebrews accordance to Genesis in the bible, which we explained in this lecture are explained. The best way to understand these 12 hours is through your own initiation. The book will guide you, as well the Practical Astrology book by Samael Aun Weor where the twelve hours of Apollonius are also explained. Remember twelve are the apostles of Christ and twelve the tribes of Israel.
