Gnosis gives the "gnana" of God: the Gimel (ג ), the letter G in the English alphabet.

ג

gimelThe third letter of the sacred alphabet of Kabbalah is the letter Gimel. If you observe its shape, you see that it is made by a letter Vav (ו) and a letter Iod (י). This encloses the mystery of the sound "ggh," which is guttural, meaning, in the throat. If you observe the Tree of Life you will see that - in the human being - the Sephirah Da'ath is precisely located at the level of the throat. This Sephirah Da'ath is Gnosis. Gnosis is written with g.

Gnosis means "knowledge;" the Sanskrit word for knowledge is "Gnana," but you might be more familiar with the spelling “Jnana.” In Hebrew, the letter Gimel has these two (ja and ga) sounds which are associated with many words.

The sound of gimel is located at the level of the throat.

In the lecture related with the letter Aleph, we stated that the letter Iod is the first dot, from which all the other letters are expressed. Iod is the first dot in letter Gimel, and when you write out the word “Gimel” in Hebrew, followed by the letter Gimel, is the letter Iod.

This letter Iod - as you see in the letter Gimel - is nothing other than the letter Vav, which is an extended, an elongated letter Iod. Vav (or Zayin) forms the straight line of the letter Gimel, which indicates that the letter Gimel extends from the letter Iod. Remember, the letter Iod represents the Sephirah Kether.

We explained in the lecture of the letter Aleph that Kether is always represented by the letter Iod. Aleph is called the holy trinity, the unity formed by three Iods: Kether, Chokmah, and Binah. In Aleph we also find the symbol of the extended letter Iod expressed as Vav, which in the human organism is the spinal column, because the letter Vav represents the spinal medulla, the spinal column, which is the basis of our studies of Daath, Gnosis.

gimelAt the bottom of the letter gimel there is another Iod that protrudes towards the left, and according to many Kabbalists, this Iod forms a foot. This is why the letter gimel is sometimes represented by the running man, or a human being that has started to walk or to run. The word in Hebrew for running is pronounced ‘ratz.’ Thus, from the word ‘ratz’ comes ‘ratzon,’ which in Hebrew means will, willpower. In the action of walking, or doing, we find the action of willpower. It is very significant that action or willpower is represented by that foot, which is formed by the letter Iod, which also is a representation of the phallus. The phallus is the letter Iod below, because the letter Gimel - which is generation and genesis - is telling us about the action of the Holy Spirit, since it is the third letter, and has a numerical value of three.

Remember that amongst the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is Binah, the third Sephirah in the Tree of Life. Binah is Hebrew for “intelligence, understanding.” It is pointing at the human being, which among all the animals is the one that has  the capacity for understanding and intelligence. The intellectual animal is at the top of earthly evolution.

The letter Gimel, as the number three, is represented by the mercury of philosophy. Mercury is the Holy Spirit, which is an emanation of the holy tri-unity. This force always works in the central nervous system as El-Shaddai. Remember that it is stated that the central nervous system is the throne of God. That is why - in Christianity - those beings that are related with the Sephirah Binah at that level are called Thrones. It is because the throne of God is always made by the creative force of the Holy Spirit as El-Shaddai represented in the letter Gimel.

The creative force of the Holy Spirit is synthesized by the four elements, or the four holy creatures that we talked about in previous lectures. Ezekiel shows them as the bull, the lion, the eagle, and the human being, or angel. In previous lectures, we told you that these four creatures are the manifestation, the action, of Binah, the Holy Spirit, that works through the elements that are also represented by the sphinx. But in this case, because we are talking about Kabbalah, the four creatures in us each have their own microcosmic representations:

  • The eyes are represented by the lion.
  • The ears are represented by the ox.
  • The nose is represented by the eagle.
  • The speech, mouth, and taste are represented by the man.

In the head we have senses that are always active thanks to the intelligent force of the Holy Spirit, which expresses itself through gimel. The words that I am expressing now are coming through my throat. That is why Gnosis is knowledge, expressed. This is also why the human being is the one that expresses speech through the word, through Gnosis (Daath), the knowledge of God, through gimel. This is why in Judaism there is a Hebrew word that is very popular: Haggadah, “to tell.”

In the word Haggadah the letter gimel is united to the letter daleth. This reminds us in English of the word "God," G and D united, because indeed, God, here in the throat, is the G. God is the Word.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him (the Word); and without him (the Word) was not any thing made that was made. In him (the Word) was life; and the life (El-Shaddai) was the light of men (the Daleth).  - John 1:1-4

The power of creation of the Elohim, of God, resides in the throat. That is why this power expresses itself through any prophet, any sacred individual, through the throat by speaking the letters of God. Such wisdom is later inscribed or written on paper as a Gospel, as God-spells. This is why, after that, they call scriptures “the word of God.” The Bible was written by men, prophets, initiates, who have the power of God. Such a power is in the throat, in that chakra, which in Hinduism is called Vishuddha. All the sacred books written in the world are written by men and women, whose power is God in their throat.

Within this power is Mercury, the Holy Spirit; Mercury in this sense is the power of the word. Remember that Mercury or Hermes is related with the mind and with the word that creates. This is why when God begins his work, he says "Let there be light." The one who makes that light is the Holy Spirit, because Binah (intelligence) as El-Shaddai is the lower Iod of the letter gimel that is the action of the Holy Trinity. Thus, the creative action of the Holy Trinity is done through the Holy Spirit as El-Shaddai; it is the whole initiation, the whole path that we have to begin by first studying the knowledge, the Gnosis, the Sanskrit Gnana. After studying the doctrine, then we put in activity that word or knowledge by the will, by the action of the Holy Spirit which expresses itself through the Iod.

In the letter Gimel, there is a spinal column; the letter Vav. Thus, to start walking, you use the lower Iod; that is the beginning. That Iod is El-Shaddai, the sexual force. This means that in order for us to walk on the path, we have to start utilizing the Iod (the sexual force).

The Iod symbolizes the phallus. That is why the holy name of God—Iod Hei Vav Hei, that is translated as Jehovah—begins with Iod. Iod is the beginning. Kether is Iod. The action of the Holy Spirit is Iod. It is El-Shaddai the foot of gimel. Such a foot is always related with the action of the sexual energy. The Iod represents not only the foot, but also the hands. When you hear about action related with hands and feet, that is in relation with the Iod.

chaioth2

Now, let us visualize the four creatures of Ezekiel. The man is related with speech, the throat. We always associate the word, speech, with creation. Yet also the phallus, down here, is associated with creation, and it relates to the sense of touch. Yes, the phallus as a sensitive organ is related with the sense of touch; the most sensitive organ to the sense of touch is the sexual organ. Yet touch, as you can sense, is also associated with the hands and feet. All the skin is included. This is why when we go into the sexual act we always notice that we go into it through the sense of touch. As we observe, in the beginning, when someone is in love, the sight, the hearing, the smell, the mouth, all the senses enter into contact, yet the last organ that consummates that love is the sexual organ through the sense of touch.

Gimel-ZayinThe power of the sense of touch is related with the Iod. You might say then that the sense of touch is only related with males, but let me remind you that Gimel can also be made by a letter Zayin and that the letter Iod in the woman is also a phallus, one that is withdrawn by nervous ligaments and known as the clitoris (Hebrew:  דגדגן ). This organ in the woman is the most sensitive organ of the sense of touch. This organ is withdrawn in itself in order to form the feminine yoni, the sexual feminine organ. So we will say that the woman is Iod Hei, because the woman symbolizes the yoni. So, in the woman you see the little dot, which is that phallus (her clitoris), thus, Iod Hei in her forms the duality. That is why the woman is two, while the man is one, because the man only has the phallus. From the one, which is the Iod, emerges the Hei, which is the woman. That is why we said that the number one is the man and the number two is the woman. One plus two equals three. That three is the union of both in the sexual act. It is the Holy Spirit, represented in the letter gimel.

From this you can see how these holy creatures of Ezekiel—the lion as the eyes, the ox the ears, the eagle the nose, and the man as the speech, the mouth—form the head, symbolized in the Iod that is connected to the throat (Daath) through the Vav (the central column of the tree of life) and finally the soul (Tiphereth) to the earth (Malkuth) by means of the foot, the phallus formed by the other lower Iod (Yesod). This earth is the whole physical body.

The other four senses that we talked about related to the creatures of Ezekiel, form the senses of the Iod above, the head. This is why Raphael, the great painter, painted these holy creatures as holding Kether, the ancient of days. This is a beautiful painting. This is “Chaioth Ha Kadosh.”

From the throat emerges the word of God. Through the throat God makes the man, as it is written in Genesis 1:3:

“And God said: Let there be light: and there was light.”

“In him (in his throne, the Vav, the medulla) was life; and the life (El-Shaddai) was the light of men (superior manas, Tiphereth).” -  John 1:4

This is how God speaks in the beginning.

Thus, with God’s pronunciation of the word, with his voice, we are performing haggadah – telling, which is the speech, the word in Daath, activated by Tiphereth, his will, through the lower Iod in Yesod; thus, appears the rest of the Sephiroth that form the body with limbs; the arms, legs, etc., of the human being. These are added thanks to the letter Gimel; since above, in the head, in the senses, is where we have these four holy creatures.

The Trinities

In Kabbalah, we always tell (haggadah), we always talk about different trinities. This is something that we have to understand. If we understand these three trinities, this "three of threes", then we will grasp the wisdom of Gnosis, which is related with the letter gimel.

The first trinity that we talk about is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - Kether, Chokmah, Binah, that we explained very broadly in the lecture about Aleph.

The second trinity is formed through the duality of Binah, because from the first trinity emerges the duality through Binah. So, the duality emerges from the Holy Spirit, which is the number three of the first trinity. The action of the Holy Spirit is represented by its will (ratzon, “willpower” in Hebrew) through the Iod in Yesod (sex); ratz, “running” in Hebrew.

When the Holy Spirit starts its action, it divides in two. That is represented by the letters Iod and Hei of the sacred name Iod Hei Vav Hei. This duality, when in union, produces the number three in the second trinity, which is the Vav, the Monad (from Greek Monas, Unity), the Spirit.

The duality of the Holy Spirit is father-mother. Abba and Aima. Osiris, Isis. Joseph and Mary, Shiva-Shakti, Abraham and Sarah. Many religions have symbols of this duality, which represents the Holy Spirit. The white dove and Mary, Leda and the swan; the bird is always the representation of the Holy Spirit. From the duality of Binah, the Holy Spirit emanates Gedulah / Chesed. The Sephirah Chesed has two names – Chesed “mercy” and Gedulah “goodness”; Gedulah is written with the letter gimel. From Gedulah emerges Geburah, also written with gimel.

So, behold! Gedulah forms part of the second trinity and Gedulah unfolds into another trinity.

  1. First trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  2. Second trinity: the Holy Spirit unfolds another trinity, which is Father, Mother and Son, which is Gedulah, our Spirit, the Monad.
  3. The third trinity is originated, created by Gedulah, the Son or the Monad, which is the trinity or trimurti that in Sanskrit we call Atman-Buddhi-Manas.

In the Bible, this last trinity is called Abraham-Isaac-Jacob. Abraham is Gedulah, Isaac is Geburah, and Jacob is Tiphereth. They form the Monad. The Monad is the Spirit that has two souls: the divine soul, and the human soul.

In different lectures, we explain about this third trinity, which is our own particular trinity in the Spirit. The trinity of the Spirit emanates from the Holy Spirit in Daath. This trinity of the Holy Spirit in Daath emanates from the first trinity, which is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These trinities are mentioned in every religion of the world, and many myths. We have to pay attention to them, because this is the mystery of gimel, which is the generation of the Iod, the creation of the Holy Spirit into the universe.

For instance, the trinity in the Monad among the Nordics and legends of the round table, was called Arthur, Guinevere, and Lancelot. If we go into the Edda we find Odin, Brunhilde, and Siegfried (who represents Tiphereth in the Tree of Life); these three forces are beautifully expressed in Wagner's opera ‘The Ring of the Nibelungen.’ Every religion expresses this trinity of the Monad in different manners. This is what we have to comprehend and understand in order to grasp the meaning of the letter Iod through Gimel.

Gimel and Iod makes the sound "gaaae," which in Hebrew means valley. There are many words in the Bible written with this word, which means valley, i.e. Gehenom "gaae hinnom ("Valley of Hinnom"). This word is the expression of the gimel through the letter Iod, above, in the throat.

The power of the Holy Spirit, in the Iod, the throat, is the power of the word. By the power of the Holy Spirit (Iod) above and in the Iod below, the letter gimel has two Iods - the one above in the head and the one below in the sex. The Iod below in the sex relates to the other two letters of the word ‘Gimel’; Mem and Lamed, which together form the Hebrew word "Melah," meaning circumcision, to circumcise. It is very interesting to see that in the word gimel, the two letters that form the word circumcision are hidden at the end. All this relates to the mystery of El-Shaddai and the man.

Circumcision is physically represented by the operation that Jews, Muslims, and other religions perform on the male. There are other groups that circumcise women, but this is brutal and we disagree with it. The only circumcision that we agree with is the circumcision of the spirit, which is related with chastity. This is the mystery of the letter gimel.

The Camel

gimel Gimel can also be said "Gamal" in Hebrew, which means camel. It also means bridge in Aramaic. So what is that bridge? What is that camel? When you use your intuition, when you analyze with your heart, you see that the name of gimel means camel. What is that part of the camel that protrudes and distinguishes it from other animals? It is the hump, naturally. Where is that hump? It is on the Vav, the spinal column, above the spinal column, thus pointing out the spine. When you look at the graphic of the letter gimel, you do not see a camel shape there. But if you associate the spinal column with the camel, it becomes more clear.

The camel transmutes the air into water. The letter aleph is the air. The water is the sexual matter. It is said that camels are well known for their humps, however they do not store water in them as it is commonly believed, though their humps do serve this purpose through other means. Their humps are actually a reservoir of fatty tissue. When this tissue is metabolized, it is not only a source of energy but yields through a reaction with oxygen from the air, thus converting the fat into water. This process of fat metabolization generates a net loss of water through respiration. This is called in alchemy: transmutation. The power, the energy is in the spinal column, the hump. The beginning of everything is the breath; Pranayama, which is one of the exercises that we teach in order to transmute the water into energy by means of the air.

Now you understand why the camel and the spinal column are associated with the letter gimel. This is why it is written in the Zohar:

Camels are the primordial serpent that was like a camel. When the angel Samael tempted Adam to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, he was riding on a camel-like serpent [a Gamal or a Gimel like a Vav serpent]. We learned that whoever sees a camel in his dream was punished by death from above but was saved from it. It is all the same, which means that the camel and the serpent that delivered death to the world are the same thing.

"Camels (Gimels) are (symbols of) the primordial serpent." Why?

camelMoreover, the Zohar also talks about a flying camel. If you associate the camel with gimel, it is easy to see that the energy of the Kundalini, the Holy Spirit, rises in the Vav, the spinal column, in the spine of the gimel, the gamal, the camel.

The Zohar also states that the angel Samael tempted Adam. Adam is the brain and Eve is the sex. Samael governs Aries, the head, Adam, and Scorpio, or Eve, the sexual organs, both polarities.

“When Samael tempted Adam to eat of the fruit of the tree of good and evil, he descended from heaven riding on this camel-like serpent at that time, all the creatures saw his image and fled from him.”

If you imagine that literally, you would see the master or Angel Samael riding a flying camel. But no, this is talking about the spinal column. The angel that rides in the spinal column is Samael Aun Weor.

‘Aun’ relates to the lower Iod of the letter gimel. ‘Aun’ is sexual strength in Hebrew. Weor means "and light" in Hebrew.

“And the life (of Aun, sexual strength) was the light (Aur / eor) of men (Gimel)”.  - John 1

“Weor”—”and the light”—rises in the Vav, the spinal column. Therefore, to ride in a camel (a Gimel) means to be somebody who has developed all the forces of the Kundalini, the Holy Spirit incarnated in the spinal column. This is why Binah, the Holy Spirit, expresses itself through Geburah (as creator and destroyer), which is Samael. In Atziluth, Geburah has the name Elohim Gibor (Hebrew for “the Upright Man”). Gibor is also represented in the gimel. Elohim Gibor is “the justice of God.”

Do you understand all these associations with the letter gimel? The serpent was a gimel or a camel-like serpent, so the rabbis of the Zohar stated,

“...we learned that whosoever sees a camel in his dream was punished by death from above, but was saved from it. It is all the same - the camel and serpent which delivered death unto the world are the same thing.”

The letter gimel, the camel, which is the spinal column and the serpent, are the same thing. When the individual fornicates through the lower Iod, he separates the letter gimel from the letter daleth. The mystery of daleth is the mystery of the terrestrial man. The man of Malkuth is the physical man.

When we fornicate, we separate the inner man (Gimel, Gibor, the Upright Man) who is also called the "Seir Anpin," from the earthly man (the fourth letter, dalet).

Elohim Gibor is a full Archangel of the Ray of Mars! He carries the Flaming Sword at his waist, and is a terribly Divine Male.

- Esoteric Treatise of Theurgy by Samael Aun Weor

The spiritual man (Gimel, Elohim Gibor, the Upright Man) is the heavenly man, as Paul of Tarsus states.

The first man is of the earth, earthy (Daleth): the second man is the Lord from heaven (Gimel).
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And as we have borne (incarnated) the image of the earthy, we shall also bear (incarnate) the image of the heavenly. - 1 Corinthians 15: 47-49

The sin of Adam was to separate the two men. So now the terrestrial man is here, physical. This is the mystery of why in the Zohar it states that Samael brought the tempting fruit to Adam and Eve. Adam is the head, Eve is the sex - the two Iods of the letter gimel. The camel on which Samael was flying was the spinal column of the Upright Man - Gibor, the gimel or “gamal.” So still, he is riding in our spinal column. If you awaken that force called Samael, it will rise in the spinal column. If we defeat the temptation, that is, if we do not eat from the fruit, the energy will rise.

In Hebrew, the word gimel is also derives the word Gemul, which means "to give" (Chesed-Charity).  Even in English, give starts with G. This giving is either reward (Gedulah) or punishment (Geburah). This reward, or this punishment, is bestowed in us by our inner God (Gibor), to educate our soul. We receive these gifts or punishment by means of our own will when choosing between good and evil; we make that choice through the lower "Iod" of the letter gimel.

The root of goodness (Gedulah) rises in the spinal column. It is energy that rises; it is the divine serpent Kundalini, the light of Shekinah that fills the spinal column from the lower Iod of the letter gimel.

Rah, evil, is that energy that is thrown down from the coccyx, downwardly forming the Kundabuffer organ. This is the opposite of that same force.

Good and evil is a matter of choice between chastity and fornication. If we choose chastity, the energy will rise in the spinal column, forming the letter gimel. Otherwise it will grow downwards and make the tail of Satan, the Kundabuffer organ. All of us have this organ in the internal planes, in our protoplasmic bodies. It is very long, but we can cut it. We can terminate it by working with the Kundalini.

Raatz is Hebrew for running, related to the Iod that resembles a leg in the letter gimel, which expresses the will (Hebrew ratzon) of the Holy Spirit, the inner wealthy man who bestows his wealth upon the physical man, Malkuth. So here we enter into the mystery of gimel, which Kabbalah states is "a wealthy man that bestows his riches to the poor man."

We like to imagine that some millionaire will come to us and bestow his millions upon us, but it is not like that, so let us understand in which way we should be poor by reading the gospel of Matthew:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5: 3

So, we must be (Daleth) poor in spirit in order to receive the wealth of (Gimel) heaven.

Here in this physical world we are what the bible calls "Abel", which in Hebrew is "Habel." Abel is the soul. The man, the true soul, expresses itself through its speech, the word of God. This is why the eyes are the lion, the ears are the ox, the nose is the eagle, and the speech is the man, Abel that was created by the power of the word. Abel, the soul here on Earth is poor, so we need to use the powers of the Innermost, which are bestowed by Gimel, the real man, Gibor, the Upright Man, above.

When we talk about the Monad, he is Gedulah / Chesed, the real man within each one of us, and Geburah (Gibor, the Upright Man) made into the image of God. Thus, when we work and do what we have to do with the word, with the throat, with Gnosis, with Gimel, with God here in the throat - by using our own particular will through the sexual organs - then, Abel starts working in the seven levels of the being. The Being has seven bodies.

  1. Malkuth, the physical body
  2. Yesod, the vital body
  3. Hod, the astral body
  4. Netzach, the mental body
  5. Tipereth, the causal body
  6. Geburah, the body of the consciousness
  7. Gedulah, the Spirit

The Spirit has to develop Abel, the soul. How does the Spirit do this, acknowledging that Cain killed Abel, the soul? There is a book in the bible called Ecclesiastes, written by Solomon, the King. It is a beautiful book. It begins with Abel. It says "Habel Habelim."  Habel is singular, and Habelim is plural, so Habel is one and Habelim is two. He says this twice in the beginning of the book. In English, the translation is "vanity of vanities." Everything is Abel, everything is vanity. We have seven Abels. The book of Ecclesiastes teaches us how to develop the seven levels of the soul in relation with the spirit.

“Everything is vanity,” which is the soul (Abel), and the spirit (Ruach). This is the mystery of the letter three, gimel. This is the mystery of the soul. In Kabbalah, the soul is divided into three parts:

  1. Neshamah
  2. Ruach
  3. Nefesh

Hermes-trismegistus

Neshamah, the Spiritual Soul

Neshamah, the spiritual soul, is represented by Abraham and Isaac (Gedulah and Geburah), the two higher parts of the Monad, Hermes the Spirit of the mercury, the Spirit of the Word. This is the Maha-Atman, Great Soul: Atman-Buddhi (Sanskrit), the Spirit and Divine Spiritual Soul.

Thoth,-the-scribe

Ruach, the Thinking Soul

Ruach is the thinking soul that expresses itself through the Manas, the superior mind, which is Tiphereth, Thoth, the soul of the mercury, the soul of the word. We have to develop the seven levels of Abel, the thinking soul in order to reach the level of man (Tiphereth) and acquire the power of Neshamah (Gedulah and Geburah) the spiritual soul which is the wealth in heaven.

Cynocephalus

Nefesh, the Animal Soul

Nefesh is the power of the lower Iod of gimel; it is related to brute mercury, the body of the word. All of this hermetic knowledge is related with the power of the Holy Spirit in the mind, throat and sex. In us the creative power of the Holy Spirit is in Nefesh, the cynocephalus (the dog-headed ape) the brute mercury in the sexual organs.

For this reason Mercury is called Hermes Trismesgistus, one in essence, but three in aspect. (Because in the number 3, Gimel) In this trinity: (Nefesh-Brute Mercury, Ruach-the Soul of the Mercury and Neshamah-the Spiritual Mercury fecundated by Sulfur) is hidden the wisdom (Chokmah) of the whole world.

Now you understand why the real man, the true human being, has to develop the seven bodies of the being from Malkuth through Gedulah.

The Master Samael Aun Weor explained in synthesis the power of gimel and the word. The bible states:

“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.” - John 1:6

Samael stated this man is called I E O U A M S, which are the seven vowels, the seven chakras that develop in the spinal column. I E O U A M S must be developed; seven-fold by seven-fold.

The number seven is holy, sacred. It represents the seven levels of the consciousness, the seven chakras, the seven bodies, and the seven dimensions.

When we as souls work in this path, what we are doing is preparing the way of the Lord, which is our Monad. It is written in the Gospel of Mark that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, sent his messenger to tell the truth. “To tell” is haggadah, the expression of gimel. John the Baptist was a prophet whose physical body (daleth) was united to gimel. God was expressed through his throat and was teaching Gnosis. This is why it is written that John baptized in the wilderness, and preached the gospel of repentance.

John’s baptism is related to the lower Iod of gimel, where we find the creative living water. Yet, in order to synthesize how he was teaching such a baptism, the verse is coded beautifully. When people read those verses literally, they imagine John the Baptist as a beggar, naked, wearing a camel's skin. Nevertheless, if we know Kabbalah, we know that the Master John the Baptist, who existed two thousand years ago in the holy land, was a Master of the Major Mysteries. He had his temple at the shores of the river Jordan. He wore his white tunic like any master. But in the gospel of Mark, in order to simplify what he was teaching, is written the following:

And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey. - Mark 1:6

The camel's hair reflects the light of the sun, and gimel is the camel. This does not mean he was literally wearing a camel's skin in the wilderness his whole life. He is a Master. Any master who is a bodhisattva, who follows the direct path, wears the camel's skin. It is a symbol, meaning that he is working with his spinal column. All this is a symbol of gimel, the two Iods above and below, or the two gardens of Eden: the upper garden and the lower garden. This is why it is stated that he had a girdle of skins above his loins. This means chastity.

He also ate locusts. In previous lectures we expressed what locusts symbolized - they are related with Kabbalah.

“The following precept is to discuss the laws concerning locusts. We learned that fish (life-force principles of Chesed) and locusts (life-force principles of Geburah) do not require slaughter, but it is their gathering that makes it permissible to eat them. Such are the sages of the Secret Doctrine תורת סוד. They do not need slaughtering (by Abbadon אבדון) but it says of them, "and expired, and was gathered to his people" (Genesis 49:33). Just as the fish (the Nun נון of the Zera זרע, life-force principles of Chesed) of the sea live in the sea (of Yesod יסוד), so do the students of Kabbalah and the sages of the Secret Doctrine תורת סוד live in the sea (of Yesod יסוד), and if they are separated from the Kabbalah (the tree of life עצ החיים) they immediately die. (Such are) the crocodiles of the Secret Doctrine תורת סוד wherein grow the sea crocodiles. And if those who live on dry land, fall into the water (of Yesod יסוד), but cannot swim (cannot sublimate the Nun נון of their Zera זרע), they die. But 'Adam,' who are the Kabbalah (and the tree of life עצ החיים) sages (in Tiphereth תפארת) are above all. Of them it says, "and have dominion over the fish of the sea (the Nun נון of their Zera זרע in Yesod יסוד), and over the birds of the air (their consciousness in Tiphereth תפארת)" (Genesis1:28), who are the Secret Doctrine תורת סוד sages the crocodiles. The Great Leviathan (הלויתנין הגדול) is (Moses) "the flying serpent (נחש ברח)" (Isaiah 27:1) that corresponds to "the middle bar (בריח bariach) in the midst of the boards (Tiphereth תפארת)" (Exodus 26:28).” - Zohar

When we teach these mysteries, we are feeding you locusts. To eat locusts means to get this Kabbalistic knowledge inside of you. It does not mean that John the Baptist was in the wilderness starving and eating locusts. Understand, this is the mystery of Kabbalah.

Honey is the outcome of transmutation. The bee transmutes the solar light within the pollen and makes honey. This is the food of every Master of the White Lodge. They eat honey and locusts.

At that time, John the Baptist was receiving Kabbalah; Kabbel means "receive." Locusts come from nowhere and invade the earth, and the earth receives them. Information from above, from the God Mercury, from the power of the word, from the hermetic things, the cryptic things of Kabbalah - this is what John the Baptist was teaching.

He was feeding people with locusts. But not everyone likes to eat locusts.

We have to know how to eat locusts, that is, how to transform in the spine the food into energy like the camel through transmutation. This is why John said:

I (like a camel) indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he (Gibor) that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost (Binah), and with fire. - Matthew 3: 11

This relates to the letter ‘Shin,’ the fire in the spinal column.

There is a scripture where we learn about the rich man - the wealthy man of chapter ten of the gospel of Mark, where everything that we explained here is very clear - when you know how to read it. It says:

And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, (the Iod that forms the bottom of the letter of gimel means "raatz" or running. So, somebody coming towards him running means someone who has Gnosis, coming to him) and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? (good is goodness, Gedulah)

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

This is pointing directly to the letter gimel, which is Gedulah. There is no one who is good but your inner God, or Gedulah. There is something good within you, so, why do you call me good when good is there within your grasp? This is what Jesus was asking him. Why are you running after me when there is something inside of you that you must run to? We must run to the Gedulah, our goodness.

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother.

And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.  (This rich man who came running after him was a symbol of gimel)

And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! (The riches that the letter gimel teaches us about are also the riches of the churches or chakras of the spinal column)

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches (that are attached to riches) to enter into the kingdom of God!

This is why Master Jesus said:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. – Matthew 6: 19-21

This is why people in this day and age are really suffering, because thieves are everywhere.

Yet, if you make your wealth inside, there are no thieves in heaven. The treasures in heaven pertain to the work that you do in your soul. When you die, you take such a wealth inside your soul. Yet, if you are attached to material things, understand you take nothing of it with you when you die. This does not mean that you have to be economically poor - you must take care of yourself. But do not be attached to the treasures in the earth. Earthly riches come to us and they also leave.

Master Jesus continues:

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

GimelThe letter gimel is the camel. It is easier for a camel - when you work with the mysteries of gimel - if you develop the seven levels of your soul related with gimel - if you work with the Holy Spirit, which is related with gimel - only then is it easier for that camel to enter the kingdom of heaven. This is because all that power that you are using to penetrate into the superior dimensions of nature is in the spinal column.

And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. –  Mark 10: 17-31

The spinal column is the ladder that Jakob saw in his dreams. One of the mysteries of the letter gimel is Jacob holding the heel of Esau. That heel of Esau is the sexual power in the earth. Jacob holds with his hand - the symbol of Iod - his brother's heel. It is also said that the Iod is the foot of Esau, meaning that Jacob - or Tiphereth, the power of the soul - develops with the power of sex which is in the heels of Esau. The heels are related with the foot - the power of the physical body. If you take that power from Malkuth - from the heels of Esau - then you will develop your inner soul. The power of Esau is called Nefesh.

When this power starts developing, transforming that animal soul called Nefesh into a human, then the Ruach - the thinking soul - will express through your mouth. Neshamah - the spiritual soul - is the one who will receive (Kabbalah). The Neshamah receives the power and wisdom of God. Ruach expresses this through the throat. But the power is given by Nefesh, which is the sexual power of the lower Iod of the letter gimel that relates to the blood, the skin, and the flesh.

If we transmute this power, this power is then called Ruach-Chokmah-El, which relates to the Sephirah Chokmah.

All of us have to become John - I E O U A M S - by covering ourselves with the skin of the camel in order to reflect the light of the sun, and we must eat the honey and locusts. Now you see why this process is symbolized by the three wise men.

The Three Wisemen

three wisemenThe three wise men came from the east riding camels. They also had horses in that age, right? But the three wise men did not ride on horses - they came each riding their own camel. In other words - each came riding his own spinal column, his own gimel. Only those that work with the gimel - the camel - and ride on top of the spinal column are the ones that see the birth of Christ.

Everything is hidden in gimel, and there are many levels to comprehend it. Now we see why Samael was riding a flying camel, why John the Baptist was covering himself with the camel's skin, and why the three wise men came riding on a camel.

The spinal column is the throne of the spirit. If you do not have the spinal column enflamed, you are not a King. In Hebrew, Melek is King; Malkah is Queen. When uniting them, we have Malkuth, the physical body. It is in Malkuth where the Holy Spirit makes the throne for our own particular Monad.

When we begin the development of the real man inside, we are black. When we start working in ourselves, we are still in the kingdom of death because we have ego. As long as we have ego, we are black – in darkness. As we work with the psychological death, the annihilation of the ego, the animals within, we become as John, one with Gimel, the camel, the second wise man. And if we transform that camel into a lion, that is better – it is the third wise man, but this is more advanced.

The third king appears inside of us – not outside. In the process of christification, we form the yellow king, when all the bodies are made of gold.

This is why each of the kings brings a gift – myrrh, frankincense, and gold. Every gift that we carry in the spinal column is an offering to God. The last gift was gold – to transmute the lead into gold. In order to transmute the lead into gold, we must first work with myrrh, and after myrrh you must work with incense. These are all symbols of the transmutation, or the smoke that rises from the earth as a sacrifice to our own particular individual God.

Do not think that the people who wrote the gospels did so just to entertain our minds. Every symbol has a meaning. The three wise men are the representations of Abraham-Isaac-Jacob. The process that is written in Genesis, that is written about these three wise men, ends with the development of the inner Christ that is delivered by Moses, who is the speech. Moses was born in the sexual waters of the Nile.

gimelThe three wise men – Abraham-Isaac-Jacob – must be born inside of us. They are archetypes that must be fully developed within our Monad, our Atman-Buddhi-Manas. Only then are we prepared to go to the manger of Bethlehem. This is how the rich man leaves his house (Nirvana) – out of beth, which is the house, through the letter daleth, in order to go and worship Adonai, the Lord, which is Christ.

This is why the three wise men are represented with crowns, because all of their power resides in Kether, which is why they are called Malachim, related with the world of Tiphereth.

In the sexual act, the two Iods (the lingam and the clitoris of the yoni) are magnetically in contact with Yesod (vital body); thus, by means of the sexual act, king and queen through the act of will (not desire) form Malkuth (the kingdom, the earth); this how the soul - in the sexual act - directly affects our physical reality. The whole mystery of the letter Gimel is the Holy Spirit – the number three.

This number three expresses in many different ways and we have said that it is the power of the holy Triamatzikamno – the law of three. It expresses in steps through the letter Gimel, the camel.

Questions and Answers

Audience: Is lamed in gimel the letter with which we write Elohim?

Instructor: Yes, lamed is the letter with which we write Elohim. But the Lamed at the end of the word ‘Gimel’ is found together with the letter Mem. Mem and lamed together form the word “milah” which means circumcision. The circumcision here is related to the Holy Spirit. In other words, circumcision means chastity. To cut the flesh – the animal flesh (nefesh) – in order to stop behaving like animals. This is the mystery of circumcision, to transmute the sexual energy as the camel does it with the air.

Audience: Where did circumcision originate?

Instructor: Circumcision is the act of cutting off the flesh of the phallus. This is explained according to other masters who said that in the epoch in which Moses came to the Earth, the vice of masturbation was very popular among those tribes that were living in the wilderness. So, in order to stop them from doing so, they instituted the circumcision and also created a pact in order to teach the value of the sexual energy. This implies many mysteries, but it is related with the letter Iod. We have to use the phallus in the human way, not the animal way. Unfortunately, as we know, people have circumcision and still continue to masturbate. But masturbation was the reason why it was instituted at that time.

Audience: What does Elohim Gibor mean?

Instructor: When you study the Tree of Life, you study four worlds. The first world is the world of the archetypes (Atziluth). In this world, each of the ten Sephiroth has its own secret meaning. So when you reach Geburah, which is below Binah, there you find that the sacred name of God is Elohim Gibor, which is the positive ray of Mars.

When you pronounce the conjuration of the seven you say, “by Samael Sabaoth,” which is the Logos in the world of creation (Briah). And “in the name of Elohim Gibor.” By this you are meaning that Samael Sabaoth is channeling the force of Atziluth, which is Elohim Gibor – justice of God – the Upright Man of God, related with the Sephirah Geburah. From this comes the meaning of Gibur and many other sacred names. In Geburah, Elohim Gibor represents the positive ray of Mars. Thus, you bring the ray of Elohim Gibor through Samael Sabaoth – and say “get thee hence, Andramalek.” Andramalek is the negative aspect of Samael (Mars). Andramalek is in Klipoth. He is a king below, which represents in us the Mystic Pride of the World of Malkuth – Hanassmussen. Of course, Andramalek is a real demon, somewhere in hell.

Andrameleck, the wealthy and pompous black magician of China, states that the human being is an angel; therefore, he does not need to suffer. He always advises his friends to enter into the aristocracy, to dress like princes and to collect a lot of money. - Revolution of Beelzebub by Samael Aun Weor

Thus, in Malkuth Andrameleck represents "Phariseeism" someone who has the ego very strongly realized and loves spirituality; is religious, but through the ego, like Simon Magus.

Audience: What are archetypes?

Instructor: The archetypes are in the world of Atziluth – the first, divine world. All of us have the Glorian which connects us with those archetypes. These archetypes are in potentiality. We have the duty of developing them. This begins with the letter gimel, because the archetypes develop through the spinal column in different steps – the seven levels of Abel, who in us is dead. When you do not know about initiation, you are dead. When I say you are dead, I mean your soul, which Cain killed. If you raise that Abel seven times, “Habel Habelim” - by doing this you will develop your inner soul, and find those archetypes within your soul. Then the human being in the image of God appears within you.

Audience: If you circumcise the letter Iod, which is the phallus, then you have the letter Vav, is that better?

Instructor: In other words, if you become chaste then your letter Iod, which is the phallus, makes, creates within you the letter Vav, which is the true man Tiphereth. The letter Vav also represents the spinal column.

What is better? To be circumcised physically is not better or worse. What is better is to be circumcised in the Holy Spirit, because animals steal the Holy Spirit through the orgasm, that is, fornication. When we learn how to respect that phallus as a human being, we enter the kingdom of man. That is called circumcision – chastity. Yet, in order to symbolize and teach people at the time of Moses– they circumcised the Iod of the physical body, which is not better or worse. What is better is to avoid the abominable spasm, the filthy orgasm of animals.

Audience: Does the mem and lamed in the word Andramelek have a relation with ‘Milah,’ circumcision?

Instructor: No. Andramalek has no relation with circumcision. Though mem and lamed may have an association with Malek as it is written also with Mem and lamed, and Milah is only mem and lamed, even though in many Hebrew dictionaries ‘Milah’ is written with “mem iod lamed hei”, you see? That's the word “milah.” Between the mem and lamed is a Iod then after lamed at the end is the letter Hei, which represents the vagina, the yoni. In other words, circumcision pertains to man and woman, who are connected in the sexual act, and avoid the orgasm. They become spiritually circumcised. This is the circumcision that God is looking for in us. There are many people that are physically circumcised but who are very bestial with their sex.

For there are many words that increase Abel, what does these profit to Adam?

For who knows what is good for Adam in this life, all the days of his Abel’s life which he spends as a shadow? for who can tell Adam what shall be after him under the sun? – Ecclesiastes 6: 11, 12

The word of God increases Abel when we utilize it through gimel. This is why gimel encloses the mysteries of Gnosis. This is why Samael has that mystery of Gnosis. Gnosis relates with gimel. Samael was riding a gimel, that is, a flying, winged camel. This means that the wind of the spirit was developed in it.

Audience: Is Gabriel associated with Geburah?

Instructor: Yes, Gabriel is Geburah-el. This is the angel that announces the birth of a new prophet. He is associated with the Moon, Yesod, the lower Iod, the power of the true man, which is developed in the spinal column. Gabriel was the one who spoke to Mary and announced the birth of Jesus. He was the one who talked to Elizabeth and announced the birth of John the Baptist, and the one who delivered the Koran to Mohamed; Gabriel, gimel, the true man – the camel.

The lower Iod of Gimel is also related with the genome that we must transform in order to have a different Genotype, so that your phenotype can be also changed.

Remember also that when you pronounce gimel, that “ghh” that is pronounced in the throat is God. This is why the Lord said: Thou shall not take the name of God in vain, because God expresses his knowledge through the throat.

And Moses said unto Iod-Havah, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And Iod-Havah said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I Iod-Havah? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. – Exodus 4: 10-12
