Dear instructors

I am still struggling to comprehend why we humans have been created initially as androgynous beings? I am trying to understand the whole path from minerals to human beings. Sorry for using such a simple language here - it's easier to understand when simpler words are used. I really need your guidance to comprehend this.

So, I understand that the monad goes through the various stages of development. Just before becoming a human being it passes the animal kingdom. So a 'soul' who used to be, for example, a female tiger, incarnates as an androgynous human being in the next lifetime as part of its development (before being expelled from the Heaven), more or less, correct?

So what happens to that tigress as a soul? She becomes an androgynous human being, then, after the human being is expelled from Heaven he/she is " divided" by two? It means she went back closer to the animal kingdom again, and becomes let's say a female human being (humanoid), and her other half becomes a male human being? Then in their further lifetimes they both will need to work towards their way back to Heaven working Consciously and with Great Will. Does a certain soul has predominantly feminine or masculine energy? Does it mean it is likely that we often incarnate to a same-sex being over and over again in physical life? I know we also change sexes in various lifetimes but what it the general tendency? I have meditated on this and never could see me as a man before. Once I saw myself as a frog, it happened a few times, the feeling came very unexpectedly during the meditation. I've changed my attitude towards the frogs since that. I now like them. I saw myself with a partner frog - and I could recognise who that other frog was from my current lifetime. So it means that person is probably not my twin flame - because we were separate before 'splitting'? Please can you explain? I have also seen me with that same person during my two other human lifetimes. Who is he to me? I cannot forget him any minute - I am connected with him on an atomic level, and so is he. What does this connection mean? Why it is so much stronger than any other connection? Any explanations from your end will be helpful. Thanks so much!

First, imagine the dimensions of nature. Remember that in each dimension, matter and energy exist, and change and develop. So, in the physical world, the planet and all its creatures evolve over time. However, in the other dimensions, completely different processes are occurring. By means of analogy, consider how your physical life is how it is, but when you dream, things in the dream world are completely different.

Understanding that, then consider that the souls move in and out of the physical world, first, each night as they sleep, the soul enters and leaves a physical body. The reality of the soul is in the internal worlds. The physical world is a temporary experience.

This is especially true at death. The physical body dies, but the consciousness migrates on to a new body. The consciousness may move on in the same evolving current of its previous body (ie. the descendants that body created), or on to some other family of bodies: yet obviously, the physical bodies have their own evolution (through the children the body made), while the soul has its own (through the different families it enters).

In short, the physical body does not define the soul. The body is just a temporary housing.

Furthermore, the evolutionary processes that flow in each dimension are separate. The evolution of the soul is different from the evolution of the physical bodies. In the physical world, over centuries, the physical bodies of creatures evolve according to many factors. Over the centuries, many souls enter into and then leave behind those bodies, meanwhile, the evolution of those bodies continues. This distinction is important.

Physical bodies evolve in great waves. All the humanoid bodies are evolving. They are houses for souls, and those houses evolve according to many factors.

The souls that inhabit those bodies also evolve in waves. The humanoid souls of this era have been evolving together for a long time. In a previous era, before they entered humanoid bodies, they all were in animal bodies. And in an era before that, they were in plant bodies.

Imagine schools of fish in the ocean: they move as groups, or waves, diving in and out of the waters. There are many such groups. Humanity is like that too: there are schools or groups of souls, diving in and out of physical bodies. The souls are evolving as a group. The bodies they enter are also evolving physically.

When a group of souls has gained enough knowledge to move on to a higher form of body, then another group will move in to begin inhabiting those physical bodies. So, the physical bodies, the houses we use, continue evolving, but different groups of souls use them.

The humanoid bodies have been evolving for millennia, and over that course of time there have been different "waves" of souls who have used them. The point is: don't confuse the evolution of bodies with the evolution of souls.

Understanding that, let us consider the question of androgynism.

First, the soul: Our inner Being is androgynous, having both aspects integrated. The soul reflects that, but is divided into two parts: one female (Geburah), and one male (Tiphereth). Through self-realization, those two are united again. The parts of the soul that are below them (Netzach, Hod, Yesod, Malkuth), have both aspects (male and female). So, the soul is neither male nor female.

Likewise, when the soul enters a physical body, it doesn't matter if the physical body is male or female. In fact, the soul has occupied each, many times.

Next, physicality: The physical bodies were androgynous a long time ago, before the expulsion from Eden. On every planet, the physical bodies "reflect" the nature of the Being. In their early development, they are androgynous, but through evolution are divided, so the souls can experience that division, and use those bodies for comprehension of the Being.

Finally, remember that any soul we met, no matter how much we may have loved them, is not the Being. The Being is our True Love, and the root of that feeling of lacking an inner connection. We confuse that with love for another soul, longing to unite with another soul. We will unite with other souls, but those unions are temporary. It is best to break the attachment to other souls, because that attachment is a cause for suffering, and obscures our understanding of the root cause of our problems: we forget our inner Being, and have been separated from our inner Being.

Instead of longing to find another soul, seek instead to find your Innermost. That is the only place we can find true and lasting happiness. Other souls are unreliable, impermanent, and limited. The Being is reliable, immortal, and unlimited.

Thanks for such a comprehensive answer, Matthew Thomas.

The distinction of how physical bodies develop and how souls develop is now much more clearer to me.

In terms of developing as groups of souls - exactly, I understand that I might have met the people I see in my everyday life in my earlier incarnations. I even know that I had the same frustrations with them before, and/or I made them feel frustrated/ annoyed with me in a similar way, and this realisation helps me get a step up and change it - I try to love them more, mediate on my reactions, and take all these opportunities to grow as a soul. It pushes me out of my comfort zone every day, several times a day, and sometimes it is painful, but I know this is the way.

As to the feeling that we confuse with love - I agree that it is often an unresolved attachment coming from previous lifetimes. It all starts as an attachment, but with comprehension and understanding we are able to turn it into real love - whether it will turn into any kind of physical relationship or no. That's why I consciously moved on from my earlier relationship to give us a chance to develop on own own and find our Innermosts. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us as souls.

I am only left a little bit confused on how I can combine love in the physical and the love as a soul in this lifetime - as I have so much to learn yet :) but with the guidance I receive through my prayers and working with Gnostics community and my own self observation I know I will be able to follow the right path.

Thank you very much for all the work that you are doing. It makes me cry sometimes reading your answers and/or listening to your audio lectures. I feel the beauty of your souls and it touches my heart to tears. But these are sweet tears! : )
