Most benevolent and formidable sir, we come to bother you with a quick questions that has been on our mind for a while.
During the exercise of retrospection I often times get a narrators voice when trying to recollect my day. This voice comes first sayings something like ''First I went up from bed and then I... went outside'' etcetera... After this narrators voice has stated a event that occurred that day the imagery of that event is portrayed to us. I have got the impression that the retrospection is intended to be conducted solely as the re-play of a film. But in our case, the narrator is always there, telling us how the film is to be re-played. Now often times we get the impression of the narrator doing it's job correctly; but not always. When not, then our intuition tells us there is something faulty and we relax the mind and then the correct event occurs again.
We have seen that often times we have been practising from the perspective of pride e.g. being concerned with ourselves. My questions is: Is this narrators-voice a ego talking to us or is this a acceptable element of the retrospection practice? If this is a false element working through us, then why is it there and how can we avoid it?
We apologize for our foolishness in not being able to handle this issue by ourselves and apologise in advance for any potential misuse of the word herein. We are complete ignoramuses and have just begun our work.
Thank you for the offering of time and energy you have made by reading this and we sincerely wish the best for you and yours.
With our sincere and best regards. Amen, Amen, Amen.

You are right to question the identity of that narrator.
A fully developed retrospection practice has no narration.
