Dear Gnostic Instructors,

My question/s are related to the sin of bloodshed.

1. Since oil and petroleum products are of the blood of the earth, do we endure the karma of the sin of bloodshed when we purchase them?

2. Furthermore, what is the microcosmic or interpersonal reflection of the sin of bloodshed?

3. What wrong action/s commit the sin of bloodshed within?

Thank you!

Our whole society is accumulating the collective karma of its actions. There is individual karma, family karma, karma of nations, karma of worlds. So yes, we have to pay for abusing the resources of the planet.

"Murder does not refer exclusively to cold-blooded killing. Bloodshed also occurs when we publicly or privately disgrace or humiliate others, causing the blood to rush to their face out of embarrassment. This includes, for example, character assassination caused by an evil tongue." (first link)

Symbolically, blood is the fire of Christ. Using our energy in the wrong way, through any evil deed, is wasting or shedding that energy.

There is also a positive meaning. Christ sheds his blood to save the world. So there are Two Rituals, Two Ways, both relating to a blood pact. See the second link.
