Dear instructors,
What actually happens when we burn ourselves out through practice?
Also, how do we avoid burning ourselves out while never forgetting our true Self? Breaks always seem to help me but I often find myself in the habit of distraction during these moments of "rest." It seems we must always be constantly vigilant, yet how do we maintain the willpower and energy to do this all day long, from moment to moment, without becoming disillusioned, dull, or mechanical?
Thank you.

To maintain will and energy, bring in more energy (runes, mantras, rites of rejuvenation, etc. and by good emotional food: walks in nature, watching sunsets or waves at a beach, playing with children or animals, etc). Also, change your practice. Keep it fluid, dynamic. Do not become repetitive.
Being aware is not dull. Yet, the mind (the egos) get bored! Notice the difference.
Those who burn out wander away into the forest of life and become lost.
