Hello!
How do you know that this picture is the Authentic Image of Jesus (Aberamentho)?
Is the original image a drawing or painting? According to history nowadays, the first photograph was invented in 1822.
When praying, does it matter if Jesus is looking away in that picture? I guess that his presence should be enough to talk to him and for him to perceive you even if he is not facing you directly with eye contact. What is the most authentic picture of Jesus where he is facing you directly with eye contact? Thanks.
Blessings
Maria.

The unique and authentic image of our Lord Jesus Christ. Taken from an emerald cutting sent to be engraved by order of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. It comes from the treasure of Constantinople and was surrendered by the Sultan of Turkey to Pope Innocent VIII as ransom payment for his brother, held captive by the Christians. This image has been taken directly from the priceless emerald, belonging to the Vatican Treasury. - Quoted from The Perfect Matrimony
The engraving was made in 1866. There is no record of how it was made from that emerald.
But it does not matter. Jesus is a Resurrected Master. He can appear how he wants, according to the needs of the moment. And his appearance is meaningless; he is beyond the terrestrial distractions of skin, shape, color, creed. You can imagine him in any form, or see him in any form, because truthfully, in the internal worlds, he has gone very far beyond the limitations of form.
