Inverential peace and my sincere thanks to all the instructors working for humanity. I have a question regarding prayer, that is, speaking to Divinity. If one prays for the healing of a sick person, prays with sincerity, even before a lit candle since the candle flame represents the fire of Christ, will the person be healed? Would it be okay to perform this practice, to pray for sick persons and will each of them be healed by Divinity? Might one accidentally interfeer with the law of karma and therefore should not practice this? Can practicing this kind of prayer even help one start washing away their own bad karma?

Healing occurs in accordance with the law. However, it is always good to pray for others, since this benefits the giver and the recipient on some level.

We always pray for divinity to heal in accordance with His will and the eternal law, since nothing can happen without the will of God and the proper causes and conditions.

By helping others, we are always helped. Even if we cannot heal another person, our compassion and bodhichitta aid us in striving further in the path.

For thirty years I sought God. But when I looked carefully I found that in reality God was the seeker and I the sought. -Bayazid al-Bastami
