Hi, could someone please recommend a book that I could gift an elderly person (86 years old) that has been into buddhism through out their life but haven't had the whole thing synthesised to them like we have with V.M SAMAEL. Im sure all books will be great but this person is reaching the end of their life and I would like to give them the right book that will help them the most. Thank you. peace.

Hello David,
In this work, as we go through the different stages of life, we try to be conscious of eliminating our psychological defect (Ego death), rebirth (Maithuna), and sacrifice (service to others). If we reach an age when the physical practice of Maithuna is not possible, then we can focus more on working in the astral worlds. This requires awakening of consciousness. By awakening consciousness, we can be fully awakened during dreams and even through transition.
This is important to note because we should comprehend that old age is important, as with all stages of our lives.

We inevitably grow old and we inevitably pass through transition to the next stage of our journey. It provides a time to see where we fulfilled our purpose and what still remains to be done.

One book recommended in the previous link is Beyond Death. I hope this aligns with what you are searching for.

Old age is like love; it cannot be hidden, even when it disguises itself with youthful attire.
Old age erodes the pride of men and humiliates them; behold, it is one thing to be humble and another to fall humiliated.

Death itself is the return to the original point of departure. A person is what his or her life is. If a person does not work on his own life, if he does not try to modify it, obviously he is wasting his time miserably because a person is nothing more than what his life is. We have to work on our own life in order to make it a masterpiece.
Life is like a motion picture; when the motion picture ends, we take the film into eternity. Once in eternity, we relive the film of our life that has just ended.
