Granting the possibility that Islam is a divinely inspired religion, then I would like to know what benefits one gets from praying 5 times a day? What exactly, specifically, is happening to one's physical/spiritual/psychological constitution as they pray Fajr, Zuhur, Asr, Maghrib and Isha?

Is praying in a dynamic way like the Muslims, in those highly specific postures giving any different benefits than say when Catholics are at Mass, just standing sitting and kneeling?

What is the significance of praying 5 times a day at particular times of the day? Thank you in advance.

Also, a little side question, what are the benefits of doing Wudhu/ablution?

Praying five times a day encourages mindfulness: self-remembrance and self-observation from moment to moment.

Prayer elevates the heart and promotes physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Those who live a life of devotion have more certainty, health, and confidence in divinity.

The five canonical prayers relate to the position of the Sun, the solar logos, within the sky. For a deeper understanding of how the astral Sun portends spiritual levels of being, see Striving.

Ablution promotes physical hygiene. More important is the esoteric ablution (transmutation) which promotes psychological hygiene.
