While in hell, can one make an impact on the duration of the stay in hell? Can upright behavior shorten the stay in hell, and vice a versa – if one is acting inappropriately while being in hell – will it prolong the stay in hell?

Redemption is possible even for demons. What matters is our will and the decisions we make, even in hell (see The Revolution of Beelzebub). However, if we cannot even handle the stress and torments of daily living, it is very unlikely that, once in the Avitchi, one will turn things around.
