Lets say a person finds gnostic "work" interesting and is motivated to start doing something (at least to some degree). Is this always an influence from the Being ?

In the most profound recesses of the heart, yes. The reason why any person initiates studies in revolutionary Gnosticisim and occult mysticism is due to longing from God.

However, this may often become replaced and "eclipsed" by the ego of curiosity. If the practitioner does not establish a strong magnetic center of gravity within the esoteric knowledge (and I mean this based upon one's personal, conscious and intimate experience of the inner divine) then he or she will easily flutter away like a butterfly to other doctrines and schools.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
