Gemstones have spiritual properties, but unfortunately, most of us are too asleep to really be conscious of their benefits. They are nice to collect, especially those that belong to our zodiacal sign, since there are certain energies that relate to our own particular zodiacal predispositions that can provide impetus and inspiration to change.

However, gems and stones should not be the foundation and basis of our religion, since many new age practitioners (and I even know some who call themselves Gnostic) who rely too heavily on them in order to achieve spiritual results. Samael Aun Weor did not write extensively on stones, and I believe for good purpose, since some people believe that they can only succeed in the spiritual work by possessing a secret talisman or the perfect gemstone.

Talismans of the pentagram with metals from the seven planets can carry tremendous power. But even then, such talismans cannot dissolve your ego. This is where I think the line has to be drawn, since we have witnessed a tendency in spiritual practitioners to seek easy answers to this path when there are none. What we need are conscious works and voluntary sufferings to achieve esoteric results.

It is true that stones are transmitters of energy and can provide some benefit, but true spiritual benefits come when we know how to die in the ego. When we have died in our ego, then we enter the Emerald City of Oz (עץ החים Ots Ha'Chaiim: "The Tree of Lives," triumphant, where we find our own internal Magician, the Great Wizard, who can grant us a new heart (Solar Astral Body), a new mind (Solar Mental Body) and courage (Solar Causal Body). Then, the gemstones of the spirit, the seven mighty chakras of our tree (spinal column) shine immaculate within our interior psychological universe.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
