As for your recent post "Coveting and Seeking Pride," it was accidentally deleted. I apologize that! However, I will answer those questions here.
Yearning is a better word to describe the spiritual longings of the consciousness, the aspirations of the soul to achieve liberation.
Craving, desire, attachment, and covetousness is ambition: the sentiment of acquisition as a means of fulfillment, which, when reached, wants more. This the nature of desire; it is never satiated, but only grows when fed.
We must learn to seek with the consciousness, not desire. This you can only learn through examining your quality of mind and level of being from moment to moment and within meditation.
Please let us know if this answers your questions, since I might have forgotten some points!
For thirty years I sought God. But when I looked carefully I found that in reality God was the seeker and I the sought. -Bayazid al-Bastami
