Hello instructors, forgive me if this seems like a petty question. I will make it short as usual.

I read the article on how to find a Gnostic spouse, and I also listened to Alexis's advice about how ones spouse should match them on the tree of life. This is all understood but, I seem to have this unceasing longing to meet a person with fairly distinct appearance traits. Thus, being the heavily materialistic Capricorn that I am, the malkuth aspect (appearance traits) of this dream woman/spouse is very strong in my interest.

Considering that infatuation and falling in love is a form of fanaticism, does the Gnostic simply settle for pretty much anyone who matches them on the tree of life? A "so so" partner? Or does the Gnostic who is fascinated with malkuth (appearance traits) strive to find this more ideal person who has excellent malkuth as well as the other levels?

Those ideals have nothing to do with love. You have to meditate on them in order to reduce their grasp upon you.

With love, there is no "settling." When there is love, there is fulfillment, not disappointment.

To "settle" is a concept of the ego. It is the ego that has "ideals, requirements, lists." Usually, that is lust.

Ahh right right the ego would be the one who thinks they are merely settling... okay thank you this clarifies a lot. I can definitely see how my malkuth desire is a strong ego..

Imagine you are blind. How will you find your spouse?

Hahaha yeah that'll do it... A blindfold would go straight to that ego.

For Alexis's mentioning, it was in one of the lectures on Evolution of Sex... If only I could remember which one as there are 6 lectures... He briefly says that you want someone who matches you from malkuth to tipheret and maybe even higher if you can.
