I found a black feather on my back deck. I understand the elemntal Of air are commanded by a eagles feather or any birds feather . I'm just curious to know does it matter if the bird is alive alive ?(I know im probably over thinking).. Also Is there a certain way one should move the feather when doing the invocation "barbas de Oro". Should i i cleanse the feather with sage ?

You can bless the sage feather and consecrate others items on your altar using the following procedure.
The bird does not need to be alive, although there is a stronger connection when the elemental is presented incarnated.
You can simply hold the feather in your right hand when you pray.

Thank you, thank you ! The feather i found is dark brown and beautiful. It's about the size of a ruler . I'm not sure what bird it comes I'm hoping it's one the eagles that live in my back yard. I'm so excited I think it was placed at the back door just for me
