Dear Teachers,

Out of pity, I took 1 female stray kitten from street a few months ago. Then, it reached maturity, and delivered 3 kittens last week. Natural cycle will prompt female cat to deliver 3 babies 2-3 times a year, then each kitten will grow to maturity and have their own babies, thus, the population will grow exponentially. I can afford to feed 1-4 cats regularly, but with exponential growth, at one point I will no longer be able to afford for them. My question, is it allowed to apply birth control for pet (karma law wise)?

Kindly enlighten, thanks in advance.
Sincerely, Noni

The question is a bit skewed. We are not here to make a list of "rules" of what is allowed and not allowed. We must become conscious and intelligent beings through daily meditation and contemplation of our actions and of life itself.

Every action we have has consequences. Yes, there will be a consequence of "fixing" a pet - but you have already made a consequence of taking in a pet. You will be stunting their development within that body because their gonads will not be functional. But there are also so many things we don't know. Perhaps the cat would have already died had it been on the street. Is that good? Bad? I don't know. These things are more complex than just good or bad.

There is good in every bad thing, and there is bad in every good thing.
