Chapter 4: The Intellect

What we study must be transformed into consciousness through spontaneous meditation, otherwise it destroys the intellect.

It is necessary to practice undivided, integral meditation at the hour when one feels like doing so. Meditation must not be mechanical.

It is necessary to acquire mathematical equilibrium between the Being and knowledge: 20 + 20 = 40; 40 - 20 = 20.

The intellectual only sees things through his theories.

There are two types of intellect:

  1. The commonly known sensual intellect.1
  2. The intellect that is given by the Being; this is a conscious intellect.

There are degrees in the objective reasoning of the Being. These degrees are measured according to the number of tridents upon the horns of Lucifer.2

When the interior mind is opened it is not necessary to verbalize theories, hypotheses, and preconceptions.

Subjective science belongs to those who are enclosed in the sensual mind and who live within suppositions.3

Pure science is only within the reach of those who have the Inner Mind and among those who develop themselves amidst triangles, octagons, and squares...

Intelligence

One must not confuse intelligence with the mind.

There is a certain sum of intelligent values within every mind.

We do not need to look for these intelligent values outside of ourselves because these intelligent values are within us.

The intelligent values of every human being do not change, neither do they become exhausted. The reserve of intelligence is a constant.

When a positive value appears, it is in fact received happily by the intelligence.

We need a new revolutionary pedagogy whose only objective is to make us conscious of what we already know.

Identification, values, and image: to exactly identify oneself, exactly imagine oneself, and exactly value oneself becomes unpostponable when we want to make an inventory of ourselves.

Enlightened Intellection

Those who manage to disintegrate the cadavers of the ego are the ones who obtain enlightened intellection.

Enlightened intellection is the intellect placed under the service of the spirit.

Jesus the Christ has enlightened intellection. He placed his intellect under the service of the spirit.

The great error of materialists consists precisely in believing that the Great Reality needs physical phenomena. Nevertheless, their “reality” after all is a product of their materialistic intellect and not of enlightened intellection.

Both the physical and spiritual are energy. Therefore, Spirit is as real as matter.

Matter is as sacred as Spirit. To comprehend that the material and the spiritual behave in a correlated and dialectical manner will be impossible as long as the materialistic intellect does not become enlightened intellection through the revolution of the dialectic.

Time

Time is life. Therefore, whosoever does not depend on time controls life.

The flow of existence presents itself in too short a duration to allow it to transpire in trifles.

The brevity of life is enough reason to encourage us to make it greater with the integral revolution.

With intelligence we must take advantage of vital time to the maximum, in order to prolong its shortness. Let us not make it smaller with the clumsy and mean actions of the ego.

1Called “sensual” because it bases its concepts on sensory data.
