1. Intellectual or general knowledge. Logical knowledge of spiritual things.
2. In Mahayana teachings, this term refers to having a command of all the rational aspects of the Shravakayana (Foundational) teachings.
The precise use of this term refers to enlightened or conscious wisdom that is beyond dualistic thought. The Tibetan equivilant is yeshe, which is composed of ye, which means "primordial knowledge that has always existed," and she, which means "to know."
