Disclosing Kabbalistically the penitent’s causes of sinfulness in the temple of God

Temple-of-God.jpg

In order to understand what penance is, we have to disclose the causes of sin and for this we have to study the book of Genesis and relate it both to our physical body and the Gnostic Church, because they are interrelated; remember that it is stated that our physical body is the temple of the living God (Shaddai-El-Chai), and that we have to take care of it.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. - 1 Corinthians 3: 16, 17
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? - 1 Corinthians 6: 19
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. - 2 Corinthians 6: 16

The Master Samael also taught us that immediately upon entering the path, every single devotee, every Initiate begins building his own temple in the internal worlds. Samael Aun Weor said:

Each initiate carries a temple in their interior... I have my own temple; thus, in the astral plane – if you wish to visit my temple - you can visit it. However, do not you forget that when you enter into that temple, you have entered into my consciousness (into my Being); I carry such a temple here (in the physical plane) and it is projected in the superior worlds; How does it appear in the internal planes? Indeed, it appears as a cathedral.

Therefore, behold here the relationship of the Gnostic Church in relation with the physical body, and even with our own particular internal sanctuary or temple that we build upon the rock.

Remember that Peter is the rock upon which we have to build our church. Peter is directly related with the pineal gland, which is the seat of the soul. So, from the pineal gland, the soul (the Son of Man, Tiphereth) starts building his own temple by means of the control of the sexual forces of Yesod, which is the rock.

When we study the tree of life we have to understand where the altar is, where the priest is, where the Christ is, where the congregation is, meaning, where all of those elements are that we find in any ritual of any church, specifically in the Gnostic Church. So if you observe the three primary forces of the tree of life which are represented in the first triangle, then you understand that such a triangle is the Logos that manifests his creative power through Daath (as we explained in former lectures). So, in Daath we find Osiris and Isis; this is the priest and the priestess performing the ritual. Thus, the celebrants must always be two, because the priest and priestess represent the power in Daath: Abba (the Holy Spirit) and Aima (the Divine Mother Kundalini), who manifest their power through Tiphereth.  This is why in the column of the middle of the tree of life we find that Daath (which is the Sephirah that receives the creative power of the three primary forces) is directly related with Tiphereth (which is the human soul) that is incarnated within the physical body and is performing the ritual, performing the ceremony, the service, the work of the priesthood, which symbolizes the work that each one of us has to perform.

Thus, exactly from Tiphereth, down a straight vertical line, we find the Sephirah Yesod (the stone of Yesod), which unquestionably is symbolized by the altar of any church. This is why when we talk about the altar of any church, we always state that such an altar should be made with the shape of a cubic stone, because upon this stone altar is where the ceremony that the priest and the priestess must perform has to be celebrated. Such a ceremony is in direct relation with the Sephirah Yesod, which is sex; it symbolizes the sexual transmutation performed by husband and wife at the altar of the Perfect Matrimony.

In front of Yesod is Malkuth; this is the physical body (symbolized on the Church or Temple). Malkuth is Hebrew for “the kingdom,” and in order for a kingdom to exist we need a King and a Queen: the King and Queen are the Malachim (in Hebrew), which in Kabbalah are the human souls directly related with Tiphereth in the world of Yetzirah.  Thus, in the physical world, the embryos of souls who are on the path are called the children of the Malachim. These children (embryos of souls) of the Kings and Queens (the human souls of Tiphereth) are the initiates who are walking on the path in this physical world, Malkuth; we repeat, in Hebrew Malkuth means “the kingdom,” which derives from Meleck (King) and Malka (Queen), which together are the Malachim. So, we, Gnostics, are the children of the King and Queen, which are the Malachim of Tiphereth, which is where the true priest and priestess express themselves. Tiphereth is the human soul that is also called the Son of Man.

So let us visualize all of this in order to understand how the Gnostic Church is related with every initiate.

Malkuth (the temple) is the physical body where we find the Essence (the embryo, the Buddhata), which is the inner child, part of Tiphereth, the human soul; this is why it is called the inner child.

The congregation is formed by the children of the Malachim (Kings and Queens), who walk on the path in this physical world (Malkuth). So, in any congregation, in any group (whether we call it ecclesia, church, or temple), all the people that know the secrets of Daath and who practice these sacraments make what Kabbalistically we call “the children of Ish-Ra-El” (the children of the Malachim), which are related to those who know the mysteries. Such a congregation is Malkuth, and among them is the priest and the priestess who celebrate the ritual in Yesod (the altar).

Tiphereth is the priest.
The priestess is Isis, the feminine soul (Geburah).

Priest and priestess represent Abba and Aima in Daath, which (as the masculine and feminine aspects of Binah, the Holy Spirit) bring the forces of the Logos (the Cosmic Christ: Kether, Chokmah, Binah) and even the Ain Soph Aur down through that channel (middle column).

This is how we have to understand; this is how we have to comprehend this.

Understanding how absolution can be attainable through penances

Based on the former Kabbalistic points of view, we now can understand the statement of Master Jesus that is written in the gospel of John chapter 3:5, 6:

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

So, here the gospel of John is telling us that we have to be born again by means of water and of the Spirit; this (water and spirit) brings to our mind the book of Genesis chapter 1:2, 3:

Waters-of-Baptism.jpg

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Here we clearly see that the water and the spirit which the book of John talks about are the same spirit and water of Genesis (from Gk. genesis “origin, creation, generation,” from gignesthai “to be born”).

The Spirit of God that moves upon the face of the waters is the spirit (creative force) that is directly related with the sexual waters of Yesod, which is the altar, which is the stone, the rock upon which we have to build. This rock (Yesod) is that ground or Eden from where, it is written:

And out of the ground made Jah-Chavah Elohim to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.  – Genesis 2: 9, 10

In order to understand this river of Eden we have to understand that there are two Edens:

Yesod is the lower Eden, the fourth dimension
Daath is the upper Eden in the higher dimension

In Daath is where we find Abba and Aima, which represent the masculine and feminine forces of Binah (the Holy Spirit), that bring down the forces of the Logos directly into Tiphereth and into Yesod, because the mysteries of Daath are performed through Yesod. There it is not possible to perform them, but only through Yesod. Thus, since Yesod is the vital body (which is the superior part of the physical body) it is in the vital body where we find all of the forces (four heads) of this river of Eden that we are talking about.

The “river that went out of Eden” comes from the upper Eden, the heavenly Eden related to Daath, where God, the Logos creates.
The garden of Eden is also the lower Eden, which is precisely Yesod; this is what you have to comprehend and understand.
So there are two Edens, the first is that superior Eden from where flows a river, which parted and becomes into four heads.

These four heads are the four elements in our vital body. We have stated that the vital body or ethereal body is the superior part of the physical body. Thus, the vital or ethereal body is divided into five tattvas. Tattva means “vibrating principle of the ether.” The tattvas are forces active in the fourth dimension, which empower the energies of the third dimension.

It is said that these tattvas relate to our vital structure:

  1. From the tip of our head to the root of our nose vibrates the tattva of the ether, which is called Akasha Tattva.
  2. From the root of our nose to the heart vibrates the tattva of the air, which is called Vayu Tattva.
  3. From the heart to the sex vibrates the tattva of the fire, which is called Tejas Tattva.
  4. From the sex to the knees vibrates the tattva of the water, which is called Apas Tattva.
  5. From the knees to the feet vibrates the tattva of the earth, which is called Prithvi Tattva.
Akasha is black, Vayu is blue, Tejas is red, Apas is white, and Prithvi is yellow.

So the four tattvas (Vayu, Tejas, Apas and Prithvi) relate to the four heads that were parted from that one river that went out of Eden, which is the ether (Akasha) that is coming from above. This is why we stated that from the tip of our head to the root of the nose is the ether (Akasha tattva); when you place the tree of life over our body, you see that our head is related with the first triangle. Then from the root of the nose to the heart (Tiphereth) you find the relation of Daath with the second triangle (through the Akashic river that went out of Eden). From the heart (Tiphereth) to the sex you find Yesod in the third triangle. From the sex to the knees the water, and from the knees to the feet the earth (Malkuth). Those four heads (four Tattvas) are the four elements that will make the physical body. Therefore, the physical body is the outcome of these five variations of the ether that we find in the vital (ethereal) body.

This is why it is stated in the book of Genesis that all of those forces or elements that come from the ether (that is the river that parted, and became into four heads) nourish the Garden of Eden. As in the womb of our mother the blood via the umbilical cord (river) nourishes the physical body (fetus), thus, when such physical body goes out from within the womb, the vital body continues nourishing it through the ethers of the fourth dimension. This is how we understand and comprehend how the Vital Body (Yesod, sexual organs) is related with the four rivers of the Garden of Eden that come from Daath, the river of Eden, in order to nourish the physical body.

Now we understand why in chapter two, verse fifteen of the book of Genesis is written:

And Jah-Chavah Elohim (the name of Binah, the Holy Spirit in the world of Atziluth) took the man (Tiphereth), and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

When it is stated that “Jah-Chavah Elohim (the Holy Spirit) took the man,” we have to ask ourselves, “From where did Jah-Chavah Elohim take him?” The answer is that he took him from the four elements (four rivers heads), because we have to build the man from the four elements. The man that is referred to here is Tiphereth; always remember this, because Tiphereth in esotericism receives the name of “the Son of Man.”  The Son of Man is taken from the four elements, which also represents the lower bodies (the Sephiroth below Tiphereth) that we have to build and which are placed into the Garden of Eden “in order to dress it and to keep it.”

“To dress it and to keep it” means to follow the commandments and rules in order to keep such a physical body healthy and immortal.  In us, this happens as a recapitulation when we - physically - are within the womb of our mother: here the four rivers are nourishing the physical body (fetus).  Unfortunately, as we left Eden, we also leave the womb, as explained in previous lectures.

Initiatically, this also means that the Holy Spirit forms the true human being from these four elements and thereafter places him in the Garden of Eden, which is Yesod, the Fourth Dimension, into which any humanoid enters again whenever he repents of his wrong doing by following the law of Eden. We are not obeying that law  thus we are out of Eden, but if we follow such a law we enter again into Eden, as explained in the video Sex: The Secret Gate to Eden.

“To dress it and to keep it” is to keep and observe all the precepts of the good law of Daath; this is obedience, which imparts and endows one with power in order to control the four elements. This is how we drink from the river of the waters of life. But if there is disobedience, then the contrary occurs: we drink from the waters of Marah.

The waters of Marah flow from the tree of good and evil, or the tree of evil symbolized by the tempter; here, instead of the soul ruling the four elements, the four elements enslave the soul, which is what we have to understand, since in these moments on this planet we are slaves of the four elements.

We do not have mastery over our vital body (which is related to Yesod, and to the Garden of Eden, and sex). In the beginning, when the man ruled the vital body (by obeying the law of Eden), he controlled the four elements, as Moses shows us clearly in the book of Exodus when he performs miracles and prodigies in front of the Pharaoh by means of the control of the elements, and as the Master Jesus and all of the Prophets also show in the bible and all the holy books.

We are explaining all of this in order for you to comprehend what the waters of Marah are. The Hebrew letter “Mem” is the symbol of water. “Marah” is a word from the Hebrew language, written with the letters Mem, Reish, and Hei (Marah); this word means “bitter,” yet this word is also applied to the bile. We have two types, of bile in our bodies: the bile related to the liver, and the bile related to the spleen.

In the tree of life, there are two Sephiroth, Hod and Netzach, which are above Yesod; according to the Egyptian rituals it is stated that the priest always performs the sign of the “Tau Cross” or “Ankh Cross.” Thus, the Egyptian indications state that this is a cross-sign that you perform from the heart (Tiphereth) to the sex (Yesod) and from the liver (Netzach) to the spleen (Hod). What does it mean?  In the heart we have Tiphereth, who is the Son of Man, the man himself who is the priest. In Yesod, we have the forces of the Holy Spirit. In the liver we have Marah, the yellow bile related to the gallbladder, while in the spleen we have the other bile which is black or dark bile.  These two types of bile are bitter.

So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea (Yesod), and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah (wormwood). And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? - Exodus 15: 22-24

We have to emphasize here something very important: the waters of Marah (wormwood) that caused the people to murmur against Moses are in direct relation with our liver and our spleen (Hod and Netzach) because in them we have all of those elements that are related with the idols that the bible talks about. It is stated that we must not worship idols, not bow down to them, nor serve them; this means Tiphereth (the human soul) should not bow down to Netzach and Hod to worship any idol, image, or negative force, because we have in those areas (lower abdomen) those elements related with anger, wrath, idolatry, incest, and all the bitter karma. We already clearly stated in other lectures that in the liver we have Mars, and that from Mars we have all the forces related with karma, because the liver is related to the number 5. Here we find the meaning of that conjuration which states:

Elohim, do battle for me in the name of the Tetragrammaton.

The Elohim are in this area related with Netzach (the mind), as the liver is also related with the heart (Tiphereth) because the liver is the organ that sends the impure blood to the heart, which Tiphereth takes and purifies with oxygen. The spleen is also related with the creation of the blood; the spleen takes a lot of dark blood from the liver and with the solar force that is absorbed through the vital body purifies it, also creating white cells. The spleen is an organ that has no cavities, no conduits; it is an organ that absorbs through the arteries the forces of the vital body and the blood from the liver. It is related with the creation of the blood. So the spleen contributes to the creation of the blood as well as the pancreas, the stomach, and all organs from the area from the heart to the sex, which are related to the element fire.

So then, in the liver we see our wrath, anger, idolatry, and all of those defects related to those negative emotions located in the area of the solar plexus. Likewise, the spleen is related with adultery; why is the spleen related with adultery?  Because the spleen is the organ that takes from the vital body the solar force of Christ (pure solar force) into the organism; remember that the vital body is directly related with Yesod. So the spleen takes the solar force and unfortunately mingles it with the impure blood from the liver, where we have our animal inheritance; thus the solar force of the spleen becomes infected through the actions of the liver. This is why it is stated in esotericism that we have adultery in the spleen, and we have wrath, anger and all of those emotional defects in the liver.

Thus, adultery is reflected mainly in the spleen; every time that we experience anger, pride, fear or any type of passion in this area, then the spleen absorbs the blood from the liver and becomes infected by it. This is how through the liver the spleen also absorbs the atoms of fornication from Yesod (sex); thus this how adultery occurs, which is related with the spleen.  This is why adultery, wrath, or anger are those defects related to the area which create bitterness, karma, which is associated with the Hebrew word Marah.

Nevertheless, if you write the letter “Aleph” of the Hebrew alphabet (which is the Latin “A”) - which symbolizes oxygen, wind, air, the spirit that enters through the nose – at the beginning of the word “Marah,” then we have the word “amar,” which in Hebrew as well as in Aramaic means “to say.” This is very significant because in Spanish “amar” means “to love.” “Amar” (“ to say”) is to blow “Aleph” (the oxygen of the Father, the Christ) that breath of life that enters through the nose into our lungs.

The lungs absorb the impure blood that Tiphereth (the heart) takes from the liver. So the heart pumps the blood into the lungs, the lungs purify the blood with “Aleph” (the oxygen), and return it into the heart (Tiphereth); from the heart the purified blood goes down into Yesod in order to crystallize as Nephesh within the sexual living waters. So behold here how this beautiful alchemical transformation of these elements is performed within the physical body.

Kabbalistic relation of the Lent with the Hebrew letter “Mem”

During the lent that endures 40 days (which is related with the numerical value of the Hebrew letter Mem, which symbolizes water, whether the waters of Marah in the liver and spleen or the living waters of Yesod-sex) it is advised to not eat meat, because the element meat nourishes the “Pentecostal Fire”; this means, not to eat flesh (Nephesh), in other words: not to fornicate, not to feed the lustful animal elements related to the area of the abdomen, which is the main point here in this lecture about penance.

Who shall ascend into the mountain of (initiation of) Jah-Chavah? And who shall stand in (Yesod) His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not taken My Nephesh in vain, and hath not sworn deceitfully; He shall receive (in Daath) a blessing from Jah-Chavah, and righteousness from (Kether) the Elohim of his Ieshua. - Psalm 24: 3-5
Adonai Jah-Chavah hath sworn by His Nephesh, saith Jah-Chavah, the Elohim Zabaoth: I abhor the pride of Jacob, and hate his palaces; and I will deliver up the city with all that is therein. - Amos 6: 8
And I will raise Me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in My heart and in My Nephesh; and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before Mine anointed for ever. - 1 Samuel 2:35

When we work with the Sacrament of Penance, we are working with our own sins, defects, especially with adultery and wrath or anger. It is written that there are three doors in order to enter into hell, these are:

  1. Anger
  2. Fornication, which is the same as adultery, because when you fornicate (reach the orgasm) you adulterate your own Nephesh-flesh, and when you adulterate you fornicate (you gratify sexual desire through your own flesh-Nephesh)
  3. Greed or covetousness

In the area of the abdomen is where we have all of those animal (Nephesh) appetites, covetousness or greed, animal hunger-thirst, related with penance (self-mortification).

This is why - based on what is written in the gospel of Matthew - the Sacrament of Penance is the second sacrament.
Kabbalistically, the Human Soul (who is directly related to Tiphereth) is the Son of Man, the one who performs the entire inner work. Thus, when someone receives the baptism, it is the human soul who is being baptized, it is the human soul who is receiving the strength of Christ.

And (the Human Soul) Jesus, when he was baptized (in the waters of Jordan that symbolize Yesod), went up straightway out of the (creative, sexual) water (of life): and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God (Christ) descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice (of the Father, the First Logos, Kether) from heaven, saying, This is (Chokmah) my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. - Matthew 3: 16, 17
The-Architect-of-the-Kosmos.jpg
(So) That (Chokmah) was the true Light (of the Sun), which lighteth every (son of) man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God (Beni-Elohim), even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of (the will of) God. And the Word (the Logos Chokmah) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1: 9-14

So this is the initiatic process of baptism when the Lord descends through Yesod when we know how to control the waters of Marah, the waters of bitterness, which are related with our liver and spleen, of which unfortunately we have a lot. This is related with our own particular karma.

This is why in Judaism when they go into the Mikvah (the sacred bath that is always performed on Saturday, the mysteries of Sabbath), the Mikvah pool has the shape of the letter “Vav” from the Holy Name Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei. Tiphereth, the Human Soul, is associated with the letter “Vav.” The sacred bath is made in Malkuth (the earth); so in the Mikvah or sacred pool of Malkuth (the earth) they submerge themselves. This means that the Son of Man (the Vav, the man, the spouse) must submerge himself into his own earth, Malkuth, which is his wife (Nukva), his spouse - which means to join sexually - and thus pronounce:

Kuma Iod-Havah Veyafutzu Oyevehha, Veyanusu Misanehha Mipanehha.
Which means:
Kuma-Adonai
Arise Iod-Havah, and let thine enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Thee flee before Thee. - Numbers 10: 35

Which Lord is arising there? The Lord that is arising there is “Adonai,” which is the sacred name of God in Malkuth in the world of Atziluth. In other words, when you enter into the Mikvah (which is the same as the Baptism), you have to raise the force of Adonai (who is Iod-Havah) in your physical body. So, when in sexual magic (Mikvah) the man (Iod), the priest, enters his Nukva, his wife (Havah or Chavah), they raise the creative force from Yesod, from sex, in order to start the battle against their enemies; which enemies? Those are their own egos, of course.  Understand: such a battle is not easy; this is how it is written.

Thus, when we enter into the path, we receive the sacraments of the Gnostic Church, which in this case are delivered in the public lectures as the sacred knowledge from Daath. All of the knowledge that we give here is related with the sacred Amens: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who manifest through our three brains: the intellectual brain, the emotional brain, and the motor-instinctual-sexual brain. So, through these three brains, the three primary forces should express themselves.

Therefore, all of our lectures are directly related with them, related with how we should handle these three primary forces of the universe that should manifest in our three brains. These are the Sacred Amens or sacraments that are performed throughout the long path of the self-realization, the path of the initiation, represented by the Hebrew letter “Mem,” the symbol of water, which is related with Yesod, the Ninth Sphere or Ninth Sephirah, represented by The Hermit on the ninth card of the Tarot.  The Ninth Arcanum from the 78 Arcana of the Tarot is The Hermit.

So, you receive strength from “Mem” when you are dealing with the forces of Adonai, which are the forces of the Earth; you have to understand that such forces are also related with the animal, plant, and mineral kingdoms, with the four elements. Remember that (physically and psychologically) we came from those kingdoms and from those four elements when we enter into the humanoid kingdom. So, in the initiation you have to face those forces and overcome them. This is why we have inside of us three aspects of our Inner Being against whom we have to fight in our Diaspora.

Immediately after we receive Daath (Gnosis, the knowledge), we should start practicing the Holy Sacraments of the Gnostic Church: either the Sahaja Maithuna or the Sacrament of Baptism.  Thus, when Adonai starts to rise (Kuma Adonai), when the Lord starts to rise as energy in the spinal column, he gives you a flaming sword with which you have to fight your enemies inside. Then you have to face the three aspects of the Guardian of the Threshold; they are related with penances.

The Devil, Lucifer and the three Guardians of the threshold

Guardians-of-Jerusalem.jpg

The three guardians of the threshold are related with the path that we have to walk in the middle of the tree of life, the column of the middle (spinal medulla), upon which we have to face the first, the second, and the third guardians.  This is written in the bible, in the gospel of Matthew; thus, immediately after Matthew 3: 16, 17 which is related with the baptism of Jesus, we find the following in Matthew 4: 1:

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

This is precisely the ordeal or penance of the threshold that Jesus was going to begin; this is why it is stated there in the gospel that in that penance he was forty days and forty nights in the wilderness being tempted by the devil. Jesus had three temptations: not two, not one, but three. Why? It is because these three temptations are related to the three ordeals of the three guardians of the threshold. The Master Samael states in the book the Pistis Sophia Unveiled the following:

The Guardian of the Threshold exists within our selves. The Guardian of the Threshold can never be disintegrated, because it is part of our own Individual Being. The Guardian of the Threshold is a full length mirror that shows us the psychological state in which we find ourselves at each given moment.

We have the Guardian of the Threshold (1) in the astral, (2) mental, and (3) causal planes. There are three Guardians of the Threshold, three parts of our own Individual Being. Each one of the three parts is autonomous, individual, and Self-Cognizant.

– Pistis Sophia Unveiled

In other words, Jesus has them and it is written how he overcame these, his three guardians; however, you also have them: everybody has them within.

Therefore, the devil that is written about in Matthew 4:1 is not a devil that is outside, but inside of each one of us; it is part of our Inner Being that unfortunately we have transformed into Satan, since we are fallen because we fell into temptation. This is why that marvelous aspect of the three guardians of the threshold that is called Lucifer (before the downfall) became Satan inside of us, which reflects all the evil that we have within.

This Lucifer or Satan has his center of gravity in Yesod. This is why Dante Alighieri in his Divine Comedy found Lucifer in the Ninth Sphere (Yesod); thus there in Yesod (sex) is where we have it. And eternally eaten by Lucifer's three mouths are --from left to right-- Brutus, Judas, and Cassius.

At every mouth he (Lucifer) with his teeth was crunching a sinner, in the manner of a brake, So that he three of them tormented thus. To him in front the biting was as naught unto the clawing, for sometimes the spine utterly stripped of all the skin remained. "That soul up there which has the greatest pain," The Master said, "is Judas Iscariot; with head inside, he plies his legs without. Of the two others, who head downward are, the one who hangs from the black jowl is Brutus; See how he writhes himself, and speaks no word. And the other, who so stalwart seems, is Cassius. But night is re-ascending, and 'tis time that we depart, for we have seen the whole." – Divine Comedy Canto XXXIV

Lucifer,-Guardian-of-Eden.jpg

The cryptic meaning of Lucifer is why many Kabbalists misinterpreted forces of the cosmos and of nature in relation with Samael Aun Weor.

Samael is the Logos of Mars, thus Samael-Mars governs up there in the head (the brain, Adam) through the sign of Aries, yet Samael-Mars also governs down there in the sex (as “AUN,” Hebrew for sexual strength; related to Chavah, Eve) through the sign of Scorpio. Thus, we have two signs governed by Samael-Mars: Aries and Scorpio (Adam and Eve). In Scorpio we find those forces related with the creative fire of sex that are related with the liver and the spleen, which relate to the venom blood that brings from the animal kingdom the forces of Nephesh-Behemoth in each one of us. So, all of this is related with the solar and lunar fire, which relate to the forces of Samael. This is why it is always stated in the books of Kabbalah that Samael is related with the original sin.

Understand: one thing is Samael in the center of the planet Mars as a Logos, and another thing is Samael Aun Weor his Dhyani Bodhisattva, who came to Mexico to deliver this knowledge. Yet, another very different thing is our own particular, individual Samael, which is the strength, the “AUN” (the sexual force) that rises to the head through the spinal column (the Vav) as light (“WEOR”) in our own particular bodies. This is what we have to comprehend.

Every Archangel has their exponent in the physical body and internal bodies. I.e. Michael, who is the Archangel of the sun, is alchemically related with sulfur, which also symbolizes the fire in our own physical body. So, we have to study this astrological comparative esotericism in order to understand what each particular Archangel represents inside of us and what he represents outside of us, because inside and outside are related.  This is why the Master Samael said: “I know all of you very well; you cannot hide from me.”

Then we asked him, “Why?”

He said, “Because my Inner Being Samael is connected to all of those particles of Samael that are inside of you.”
We have particles of Samael, Michael, Zachariel, Orifiel, and particles of all of the cosmos within us, because we are the Microcosmos of the Macrocosmos.

So, again, let us understand and comprehend this passage of Matthew 4: 1 when Jesus was led up of the Spirit into the wilderness in order to be tempted of the devil. The wilderness symbolizes Yesod and also the world of Malkuth, which is a fallen Sephirah (upon which we live). In this wilderness is where we also find - when we enter into the initiatic path - what is stated in the second church according to the book of revelation:

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. - Revelation 2: 10

Ten days is related with the wheel of Samsara (Malkuth, the tenth Sephirah). This means that when you receive the forces of baptism, you start the initiation, then immediately afterwards you are tested here in Malkuth, which is the tenth Sephirah (symbol of the ten days), meaning, you start your tribulation (Diaspora) in order to pay your karma - the recurrent karma and all of those negative forces, which are in relation with Marah, the bitter waters of Marah.

Now, let us understand the following: we told you that the Hebrew word “amar” means “to say” (made from adding Aleph at the beginning of the word “Marah”); yet, there are other two words that are similar. i.e. the blood that is created in the liver and in the spleen is called in Hebrew “dam”; so “dam” (the blood) goes into the heart, thus, when “dam” receives the letter Aleph (symbol of the oxygen) it becomes “Adam.” So, this “Adam” is Tiphereth (the heart), because in the heart is where “dam” becomes “Adam.”  This is why we always insist that the Son of Man is Tiphereth, which relates to that oxygenated blood or purified blood that goes down into Yesod and becomes the semen, the seed.

Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. - Galatians 3: 15, 16

This is why in Kabbalah you represent the Man in Yesod, because the human being is created, built in Yesod. In Yesod you build the Church, you build the Man; and also the bitter waters of Marah from the liver and the spleen the two types of bile become sweet in Yesod, when you write the letter Aleph in the beginning of the word “Marah” thus becoming “Amar” which means “to say” in Hebrew or “to love” in Spanish.  This is why it is written in the book of Genesis, related with the waters of Malkuth:

And the earth (Malkuth, the physical body) was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit (Ruach) of the Elohim moved upon the face of the waters (of Yesod).
And Elohim said (amar), Let there be light: and there was light. – Genesis 1: 2, 3

When you read in Genesis “God said,” in Hebrew it is “Amar Elohim.”  This means that “Aleph” (which is the wind, the spirit of the Elohim) is doing the creation upon the face of the waters of Yesod; lo and behold here, because the waters of “Marah” from the liver and the spleen go into Yesod and become the purified waters when the Spirit (the breath, the wind) transmutes them, and this is “amar”, that is “to say.”

Therefore, in order for you to create the Man within you, you have to know how to “amar,” in other words, you have to know how “to say”, because God has to say it, and God says it through the sexual creative force (which is how it relates to the Spanish amar: “to love.”)

Thus God as “Aleph” (wind, spirit) descends from the higher dimensions and enters through the nose, down into the heart (Tiphereth), and from the heart into Yesod (sex) in order to rise again inside your spinal column, which is the staff of Moses, or the serpent of bronze which healed the Israelites in the wilderness; thus when this happens then it is accomplished what is written “Amar Elohim,” that is,

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” – Genesis 1: 2, 3

As you see, this is related with your physical body. If you do not take into account God in the sexual act, then you end by fornicating, because you end following the bitter waters of your liver and spleen, which are adultery and wrath; yes, in the liver you find violence, which is same as wrath.  This is why it is written that Lilith is the mother of violence and all of those most degenerated aspects of sexuality, and on the other side, that is, your spleen, you find Nahemah (Adultery).

Lilith and Nahemah - the two degenerated wives of the fallen Adam - are the two adversarial bitter forces (liver and spleen), animal forces, demoniacal forces, which are the opponent of Adam-Tiphereth (the heart) which channel the spiritual forces (Ruach Elohim) from Adam-Chavah (Abba and Aima) in Daath. Here, we find the explanation of the names pronounced in one of the conjurations of the seven:

By the divine and human name of Shaddai (the almighty in Yesod-sex), and by the sign of the Pentagram which (which is the symbol of Samael, which) I hold in my right hand (Geburah), in the name of the angel Anael (the forces of Nous in the heart), by the power of Adam and Eve (in Daath), who are Jah-Chavah (Abba and Aima), begone Lilith (from the liver)!  Let us rest in peace, Nahemah (from the spleen)!

The forces of Lilith and Nahemah are there in the liver and spleen, which relate to Klipoth, the inferior forces of Marah, the bitterness of our own subconsciousness, unconsciousness, and infraconsciousness, and within all of those chakras from that area of the abdomen where we have the animal appetites. This is why it is written that “the devil shall cast some of you into prison that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation.” When you start working on yourself, this is what happens, likewise with every single neophyte or beginner, when they start walking on the path, they feel that they are tried.  This is what the devil inside of you starts doing, because in us the devil is the majority, since we are 97 % animal and 3% human; through the path we want to increase the 3% of our humanity against the 97% of our animality, but this is like David against Goliath. Nevertheless, if we have faith in God, we advance by overcoming the ordeals that the devil gives to us, not outside but inside of us.

For this, we have to be patient in that lent that endures 40 days, but in order to comprehend better, let us take the other instance from the book of Exodus where it is stated that the Israelites were enduring penances for 40 years, a whole life in the wilderness.

40 is always related to the letter Mem. This does not mean that in 40 days or 40 years you will be ready, either way, it is just a symbol of a length of time in which you have to work with your penances, with your ordeals, with your trials that come from within.
Understand that the interior is the reflection of the exterior, and the exterior the reflection of the interior. Therefore the circumstances of life that come around your physical body relate to your inner psychology.

First Guardian of the Threshold - Appetites of the Animal Soul

Often, I had to courageously confront the Black Powers of the Air, as the Apostle Paul of Tarsus refers to in chapter II, verse I of the Epistle to the Ephesians.

Unquestionably, the most dangerous adversary in that night had the fatal title of “Anagarika.” I want to emphatically refer to the demon Omar Cherenzi-Lind.

That repugnant, tenebrous creature had taught Black Tantrism (Sexual Magic with seminal ejaculation) to the world. As a result of such Black Tantrism, just by glancing at him one could see that he has a very developed diabolical tail and horrifying horns.

This leftist Tantric Demon came before my presence accompanied by two other demons. He appeared to be very satisfied with his abominable Kundabuffer Organ (a terribly satanic, witch-like tail), an outcome or corollary of Black Tantrism, which is the projected sexual fire from the coccyx, downwards towards the atomic infernos of the human being.

Out of the blue (as it is said), I asked him the following question, “Do you know me?”

His answer: “Yes, I saw you one night in the city of Bacata when I was dictating a lecture.”

Certainly, what happened afterwards was not very pleasant: that “Anagarika” had recognized me; infuriated, he threw fire through his eyes and tail...

He wanted to hurt me in a violent way. I defended myself with the best conjurations of High Magic, and he finally flew off with his attendants.

While the hurricane was howling, I solitarily continued on my way during that night of mystery...

- Samael Aun Weor

Dietrich the great theologian stated: “To attain that which one is yearning for, that is the Religare or Union with Divinity, must be accomplished through these four ways:

  1. To receive God (the Eucharist)
  2. Amorous Union (Sexual Magic)
  3. Filial Love (to feel oneself is a child of God)
  4. Death and Resurrection”

It is written:

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. - Matthew 4: 2

Do you understand this? 40 is related with “Mem” as we already explained; this is related with the waters of Marah and the living waters of sexuality. So after you fast, in other words, after you start transmuting and fighting against your animality, then your ego, your body, your inner “self-willed” starts being hungry. This relates to those desires from the area of the abdomen, like: lust, anger, pride, fear, gluttony, and all of those defects related with the area of the liver and the spleen - and of course sex.

Thus, when you are hungry, the tempter comes and tells you:

First-temptation-of-Jesus.jpg

If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones (of Yesod) be made bread. - Matthew 4: 3

Remember that the stones are always related with Yesod (foundation); if you are the son of God, meaning, if you (Tiphereth) are following the path of God, then why do you not transform these stones into bread? What is the bread? First, understand, that this question is aimed at Tiphereth, that is the human soul; thus, it is the human soul that is being tried here.

You make bread when you make flour from wheat and cook it in the fire; remember that bread does not grow on trees, thus, you do not take bread from trees, this have to be made. So to make bread is an alchemical process in which you combine water, fire, and earth (flour); once it is made, you even find air within it. So, to make bread means to perform alchemy, to transmute the libido, to enjoy sex, just for the sake of the animal aspect of it.  This is why in the beginning Paul of Tarsus stated:

Howbeit, that was not first, which is spiritual; but that which is animal, and afterward that which is spiritual. - 1 Corinthians 15: 46

Thus, first is the animal that is natural because we have lust, but we have to transmute it into spiritual will. This is why Jesus who represents the Son of Man (Tiphereth) answered:

It is written, Man (the Son of Man - Tiphereth) shall not live by (the alchemical) bread alone (not only by sexual transmutation), but by every word that proceedeth out of (Daath, the larynx) the mouth of God. - Matthew 4: 4

So, do you see the difference? From Daath (the larynx of God) comes the Word, the Logos. Thus our higher aspiration must be the Venustic Initiation, the incarnation of the Logos of God.

Nevertheless, besides sexual alchemy, we must always receive the nourishment of the Logos through the Eucharist in our physical bodies. In other words: you should not only practice sexual magic and live by this bread alone, and think that only through sexual magic, the Arcanum A.Z.F. you will acquire self-realization; comprehend that you also need to feed your soul through the Eucharist, because the Son of Man also needs (the flesh and the blood of) the word (the Logos) of God; remember that Tiphereth is the Son of Man.

The bread of sexual alchemy comes from Yesod (lower Eden), when you transmute the waters of Yesod; but the word (the Logos) of God comes from Daath (upper Eden), which is that Sephirah above Tiphereth. Thus, this is why Jesus instituted the Eucharist in order for Tiphereth to receive the word (the Logos) of God through it, because through the Eucharist you also feed your soul, your heart; this is why it is written that the sacrament of Eucharist is related with the heart, with Tiphereth (the priest), because in the heart is where the Initiate receives the forces of the Logos, the forces of Christ, in order to be fed and guided. This is why the Eucharist is indispensable.

Moreover, the Logos that descends through the Eucharist from above, from Daath, can help us in different steps; i.e. practice the Eucharist after you practice sexual magic. For this you have to remember Abba and Aima. Remember that the fourth commandment of the law of God states: “Honor your Father and your Mother,” and we already taught in many lectures that your father and your mother are Adam and Eve, the two polarities which are precisely in Yesod and which are the unfoldment of the polarities which are above in Daath; this is why it is written:

Therefore shall a man (Tiphereth) leave his father and his mother (in Daath), and shall cleave unto his wife (in Yesod) and they shall be one flesh. - Genesis 2:24

Thus, to honor father and mother is to remember God while in the sexual act. So, when you are remembering God while in the sexual act you are bringing the Word of God, you are bringing into the sexual act the forces that are called the Akashic forces, then when you transmute them, you are feeding your Self with the Manna, with the forces of the height; thereafter, when praying in the Eucharist, you place it into your own bread and wine.

Sequentially, taking into account that the devil in this instance represents the Guardian of the Threshold of the Astral plane, which is related with Kama Rupa, the inferior emotions, with the appetites of this area of the abdomen, or solar plexus, and that devil says, “Why do not you transmute?  Transform, make these stones of Yesod into bread of alchemy.” Then Jesus answered:

It is written, (the son of) Man shall not live by (the) bread (of sexual alchemy) alone (but also by the forces that come from above, from Daath, that is) by every word that proceedeth out of (Daath, the Eucharist of the Gnostic Church) the mouth of God (in the superior worlds). - Matthew 4: 4
For the bread of God is he (the spark of the Logos) which cometh down from heaven (of Atziluth), and gives life unto the world.  I (the Logos) am the living bread which came down from heaven (of Atziluth): if any (Son of) man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh (Nephesh Elokit), which I will give for the life of the world.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh (Nephesh Elokit) of the Son of man, and drink his blood (fire), ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day; for my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me (the Logos), and I in him (the human soul). - John 6: 33, 51, 53-56

It is necessary to understand the mysteries of the Logos, because we need to know these mysteries, this is, to understand that not only sexual magic is necessary, but also other types of rituals that were instituted by the great Avatars and that we the Gnostic celebrate.

So understand what it is to work against the forces of the liver, which are the adversary forces or Satan, the devil that tempts you so that you can feed your bestial hunger. Thus, at any time or moment when you feel hungry - meaning, when you feel any type of animal appetite in the area of the abdomen - remember that it is your own Guardian of the Threshold who is showing you your bestial appetites, and that you have to defeat those desires by telling unto the Guardian of the Threshold, the following: “Listen, I, the human soul shall live not only from that type of bread of desire but also by the word of Daath, which are the superior forces that come from God.”

Second Guardian of the Threshold – Manias of the Mind

In the graphic of the tree of life, Tiphereth (the human soul) is exactly in the middle, thus Tiphereth is fed from above and from below; do not forget this. Because the devil can always fly, he can take away from you the forces from above and make you think that just by doing the practices from below you are done, but NO! Remember that Genesis states: “And God said” - “said” is “amar” in Hebrew, which happens when “aleph” - that is the breath from above - comes down into “Marah” in order “to say” it: this is the process of the transmutation of the bitter waters into sweet waters, which happens along the path.

Then, listen carefully, when inside you acquire the building of your astral body and your mental body, then you are accomplishing with what is written in the book of Genesis that states:

And Jah-Chavah Elohim “SAID”, It is not good that Adam should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. – Genesis 2: 18

And in the next verse of same chapter it is written:

And out of the ground (Adamah) Jah-Chavah Elohim formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air (only two: beast and fowl); and brought them unto Adam…

The beast of the field is the representation of ‘fire’ (the astral body) and the fowl of the air is the mental body. When you create these two bodies (‘the fowl of the air’ and ‘beast of the field’) then you have four bodies, since you already have the vital body, which is represented by Yesod or the fish of the ocean, and Malkuth (the physical body) represented by the cattle of the earth.

These four bodies represent the four elements or four creatures that are called in Hebrew Chaioth-Ha-Kadosh (the sacred creatures), the angelic forces that were created by means of the force of transmutation. Therefore, when you already have all of this, you have to face the Guardian of the Mental Plane, because you are reaching what is called the pinnacle of the temple. Why? It is because the astral solar body manifests through the emotional brain, here in your heart; and the mental body through the intellectual brain, here in the head, which is the pinnacle of your temple (your physical body).

So, when you have an astral solar body and you are already building a solar mind upon the pinnacle of your temple. When you are at that height, then the Guardian of the Threshold of the Mind comes to you and executes in you what is written:

Second-tempttion-of-Jesus.jpg

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. - Matthew 4: 5, 6

As we just read it, here is again the stone. In other words, when the initiate reaches such a level, the devil tells him: “Go down to Yesod, continue what you have to perform (transmuting desire into willpower) by going down to Yesod.”

So, this Chaioth-Ha-Kadosh (the sacred creatures) represent the four forces that in the beginning we stated are related with the four elements (four heads of the river of Eden) which are involved in the creation of the physical body. Yet here (at the pinnacle of the temple), these creatures are related with the physical body, vital body, astral body, and mental body.

When you were longing to be a Chela, you then passed the first ordeal of the Guardian of the Threshold (in the astral plane).

Now you face the ordeal of the great worldly Guardian of the Threshold. Now you, as a Master, have to encounter the Guardian of the Mind (in the mental plane). Defeat him, and your mind will be free from the external senses.

The external wings are opened within the blazing fire of the mind. The tenebrous ones of the world of the mind attack you within the blazing flames. Defeat them, oh Arhan!

Control your mind with the whip of willpower. – Igneous Rose by Samael Aun Weor

Here the initiate entered already into Buddha hood, he is at the level of Buddha hood, thus as a Buddha’s Arhan he faces that ordeal of the Threshold ordeal of the Guardian of the Mental Plane or mental level; thus he has to defeat that Guardian. So from that height or pinnacle of the temple, that guardian says: ‘Cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee’ but, what angels is this guardian taking about? These angels are precisely the four holy creatures “Chaioth-Ha-Kadosh.”

When somebody enters into meditation, he has to control the first “Chaiah,” which is the physical body, so he relaxes the bull. Then he controls the other “Chaiah” or creature, the vital body, which is related with the Man or Angel; then entering deeper into his meditation he quiets the other “Chaiah,” the emotional body, which is related with the Lion. Thus when the Lion is silent, he then has to silence the mind, which is the eagle, the fourth “Chaiah.” These are the four creatures:

  1. the Bull in Malkuth
  2. the man in Yesod
  3. the Lion in Hod
  4. the eagle in Netzach

These are the Chaioth-Ha-Kadosh (the sacred creatures). These are the four Holy Creatures or angels who pull the chariot (the Mercabah) and who will hold you (human soul) in their hands when you go into Yesod, who shall bear you up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone in Yesod.

This is what happened as it is described in the book of Exodus. When people were reaching that level they were disquieted and unhappy because of the many ordeals that were coming towards them, since in the mental plane you have to face humanity and very hard ordeals related with the elements.

And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of Jah-Chavah, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? Wherefore do ye tempt Jah-Chavah?
And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
And Moses cried unto Jah-Chavah, saying, What shall I do unto this people? They be almost ready to stone me.
And Jah-Chavah said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock (of Yesod) in Horeb (the pineal gland); and thou shalt (from the pineal gland) smite the rock (of Yesod), and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted Jah-Chavah, saying, Is Jah-Chavah among us, or not? - Exodus17: 1-7

You might have heard about the ordeal of the elements or about the four ordeals: the water, the air, the earth and the fire, which we have to face in different levels as we advance on the path. So, this is what is symbolically written in Exodus and in the gospel of Matthew, Jesus is doing this step by step and facing the ordeals step by step, as it is written:

Jesus said (amar) unto him (the Guardian of the Mind), It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt Jah-Chavah thy Elohim. - Matthew 4:7

Thou shall not tempt Jah-Chavah Elohim because at that moment he is at the level of Netzach (the mind). So, do not tempt your God at that moment or level, in other words, you must not do what your cattle want, that is, you shall not follow your mind but the will of your inner being in relation with sexuality.

Many students want to know when do we start following directly the commands (the first law) of our inner being in relation with the performance of sexual magic, and how and where; well, it is when you reach the level of Netzach, when you are at the pinnacle of the temple. Here you start consciously learning the will of your Inner God and to not go there, to Yesod, and do your own self-will, because then you are tempting your God. Remember that the devil’s abode is Yesod. Thus, to tempt your God is to satisfy your own self-willed or animal desire, that is, when at the pinnacle of your head (the pineal gland) instead of following your mind, your head, your brain, you follow in your pineal gland, the Causal Will - Tiphereth.

This is why Jesus said:  “Thou (mind) shalt not tempt Jah-Chavah thy Elohim (in the pineal gland).” Or as in the book of Exodus when the Israelites where tempting Moses - who was the representation of the Will of Christ - when they say in the wilderness: “Give us water that we may drink… And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?”

So they were tempting the will of God (Moses) because they wanted to satisfy their thirst (desire) for sexual transmutation; yet they were in that sexual ordeal because - in the sexual act - they needed to learn how to obey only the will of God; thus in order to satisfy their sexual thirst, God is forced to give them water from a rock. Such a rock is Yesod: sex. This is related with the animality that we have to overcome, because sometimes we want sex not because of God’s will, but because we want to satisfy our own lust which is very alive within us. Thus we have to overcome the self-willed of the Guardian of the mental plane by following the will of God, and we overcome it as Jesus overcame that guardian when saying:

“Thou (mind) shalt not tempt Jah-Chavah thy Elohim (in the pineal gland).” - Matthew 4: 7

Third Guardian of the Threshold – Self-willed versus God's will

Thereafter the initiate faces the third temptation, which relates to the ordeal of the Guardian of the Threshold in the Causal Plane. When the Initiate reaches Tiphereth (causal plane), which is the level that comes after Netzach (the mind), he then receives the Mastery; it is when he has the right to be called Master or Human Being, because the initiate has built the bridge (solar bodies) from the physical body to the Monad (Tiphereth, Geburah, Gedulah, his Inner Master). Such a level is acquired in the First Mountain. You can study all of this in the book The Three Mountains.  Thus, when you reach the level of Tiphereth you reach the top of the First Mountain, because the fiery serpents related with Geburah and Chesed (the Divine Soul and Atman the Spirit) are always standing.

So when the Initiate reaches the level of Tiphereth, he is already on the top of the First Mountain (Mountain of Initiation); here is where the Initiate has to face the ordeal of the Guardian of the Threshold of the Causal Plane, the Nirvanic Guardian, who is part of our Inner Being. It is written:

Third-Temptation-of-Jesus.jpg

Again, (through the fifth initiation) the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain (the First Mountain or Mountain of Initiation), and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the Kosmos, and the glory of them. – Matthew 4: 8

As you see, from there, from the causal world (the top of the First Mountain or Mount of Sinai) you can see down into all the Nirvanic kingdoms of the Kosmos, especially the kingdoms of Malkuth:

And (the devil) saith unto him, All these things will I give thee (human soul), if thou wilt fall down and worship me. (Better said: If thou Tiphereth will turn thy will down and worship me, the mind.) – Matthew 4: 9

This has many meanings, yet in this instance that we are explaining here, it is the ordeal in which the Initiate as a human soul becomes identified with his mind and through it starts to boast about his Being’s mastery. Thereafter the mind starts excessively boasting about it, saying: “I am this or I am that Master,” “Yes, I am the Master X or the Master Z, worship me because I am the Bodhisattva of certain hierarchy of the Kosmos, of Heaven, etc.,” and many mythomaniac statements of the sort.

Myth: mythos “speech”
Manas: “mind”
Mythomania: “charlatanry regarding our own Being’s initiations by a sick enthusiastic mind”
Through Mythomania your mind takes control of your will or the Guardian at that level takes control of your destiny.

This is why there are two paths to choose at that level: the Spiral Path and the Direct Path. Samael Aun Weor wrote:

I could never forget the final moments of the Fifth Initiation of Fire. After all of the recapitulative processes I had to courageously confront a terribly Divine Nirvanic Guardian.
The Blessed Lord of Perfections, while showing me the Spiral Nirvanic Path, said: “This is good work.” Then, just as when a lion roars, he exclaimed with a great voice (as he pointed to the Direct Path) saying: “This is superior work.”
Posteriorly, I saw him advancing towards me with that tremendous imperative of the great Majesties: He interrogated me and I answered him, establishing the following dialogue:
Q. “Through which of these two paths are you going to continue now?”
A. “Let me think about it.”
Q. “Do not think about it, answer immediately, define your Self.”
A. “I will go along the Direct Path which conduces unto the Absolute.”
Q. “But, what is that which you are saying? Do you not realize that this path is extremely painful?”
A. I repeated: “I will go to the Absolute!”
Q. “How did it occur to you to enter through there? Do you not comprehend how you will suffer? What is going on with you, sir?”
A. “I will go to the Absolute.”
“Well, you are warned!” (These were the final words of the Guardian, after which he solemnly withdrew).

Sequentially:

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan (or Guardian of the Threshold of the Causal World): for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, (in Daath) angels came and ministered unto him. – Matthew 4: 10-11

Meaning: the Initiate (human will) must do his own God’s will; through his will, he has to place his mind at the service of his Own Being. To do this, the human soul has to follow the will of his own God. This is very delicate because in this ordeal it is the human will that which is in a trial there.

As you see, this is the causal level that the soul eventually will reach through Yesod (sex) that relates to the lent that is written in the gospels where Jesus had fasted forty days and forty nights. Understand that to fast forty days and forty nights is not literal, but a symbol that we have to endure step by step.

Many human souls take the easier spiral path. Regarding the self-willed of these Pratyeka Buddhas of Nirvana, Master Samael states the following:

The “I” makes a last effort in order to subsist; here, he declares himself to be a lofty selected one, a Master, and enjoys to be called by people, “Master, Master.” The chosen “I” enjoys undressing like a harlot in order to show off its figure, qualities, and divine powers to others. Subsequently, that monstrous larva develops into a prophet in order to exhibit its powers and virtues and thus be venerated by others.

Master Samael stated that we must stop such nonsense and renounce the happiness of Nirvana in order to follow the Direct Path.

It is very rare to find an initiate that overcomes the Guardian of the causal world; the many Pratyeka Buddhas enter Nirvana in order to rest and disappear from the sight and the hearts of men, caring nothing for the woes of mankind or to help it, but care only for their own bliss.

The Buddhas who take the Direct Path are warned by the Guardian, who tells them: “Okay, since you are following the direct path, let me tell you what the future holds for you.” Thereafter the guardian tells them their destiny in detail, regarding the events which will happen on their path. “Since you do not want to enjoy the kingdoms of the Kosmos and the Earth and the happiness of Nirvana and to incarnate once in a while in the physical plane - since you are rejecting bliss, then okay, behold what you will get.” Of course, what you will receive is your karma.

Thus after those three temptations, Jesus (the human soul) after renouncing “all these things” appears before others as a Master, as it is written:

And Jesus returned (from the causal world) in the power of the (Holy) Spirit into Galilee (Malkuth): and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he (as the Son of Man) taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. - Luke, chapter 4: 14, 15

Absolution of Karma through Initiatic Penances

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: Job 5: 17

The Master Samael Aun Weor was in jail in the month of March during the sign of Pisces. The zodiacal sign of Pisces is control by Neptune, who rules the pineal gland, which controls the sexual waters of Yesod (Mem). Thus during such ordeal Samael Aun Weor was accomplishing certain prophesies, because he went into the ordeal of water, which Neptune (the Holy Spirit) imposed on him, similar to Odysseus in the Odyssey, who receives that terrible ordeal of water given by Neptune and described by Homer. Neptune symbolizes the Holy Spirit; it is the same Spirit that led up Jesus into the wilderness to be tried or tempted of the devil. All hide the same meaning. Of course, Master Samael Aun Weor went out of jail; he was only passing the ordeal of water related with the Second Initiation of Major Mysteries, but understand that such ordeal of water endures the whole life through different levels. Anyhow, what is indeed significant is that during the life of the Master Samael Aun Weor he passed such ordeal of water during the sign of Pisces, since he is the Avatar of Aquarius.

Now when Jesus (the human soul passed the three ordeals of the threshold and) had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee. - Matthew 4: 12

John (the earthly man) is cast into prison and suffers the decapitation. This is the symbol of the beheading of the mundane mind of the Bodhisattva; the mundane mind that we all have and that we should place aside.

Head-of-John.jpg

We must experience the decapitation of John the Baptist seven times.

We experience the decapitation of St. John the Baptist, each time in a very refined manner, as the seven serpents (seven pentecostal tongues of fire) pass in successive order from the vertebrae of the neck to the head.

Each time that one of our seven serpents (seven pentecostal tongues of fire) rises from the vertebrae of the neck to the head, we experience such symbolic decapitation.

- Treatise of Sexual Alchemy by Samael Aun Weor

The lent of forty days is the penance that we all have to endure in different levels according to our own particular karma.  We cannot state that we all have to endure our karma in the same way that the Master Samael Aun Weor endured his karma, or in the same way that Jesus did it, no! Understand that each one of them have a different level of Being. Jesus is a Paramarthasatya. He represented the Cosmic Drama with his own life, and likewise, Master Samael Aun Weor also represented the Cosmic Drama, yet according to the twentieth century. So we see the same patterns when we study the story of his initiatic life, of course, according to his own level, since Master Samael Aun Weor’s level is beneath the level of Master Jesus.  And we undoubtedly are in a very low level in relation with Master Jesus and Master Samael Aun Weor. Therefore, every one of us when walking on the path live our own ordeals in relation with our own waters of bitterness (Marah in the liver and spleen) because those are the main forces related to Lilith and Nahemah, which are the forces within the psyche of each one of us and whose influence even affects the health our physical bodies.

So, now let me read for you what is stated in the book the Bhagavad-Gita, regarding what each one of us has to achieve by overcoming these three ordeals of the guardians of threshold, these ordeals of water, earth, fire and air in order to reach the self-realization. Krishna said:

Krishna-Arjuna.jpg The Holy Lord Supreme said: he who performs his spiritual duty without desiring the fruits of his actions, he is the true renouncer of the world and not the one who renounces action or who worships the fire.

Know that the one who performs Karma Yoga (which is precisely the yoga related with penances, action, which is also called renunciation) is the one who is known to be as Samnyasa, because none can attain this yoga (union with God) without giving up desires.

For the wise who has just begun this yoga, action, it is said to be the means, and after attaining this yoga, mindlessness is going to be action or the means of his actions. When the devotee does not act either for sense gratification or for the fruits of his actions and when he has renounced to all desires, driven thoughts, it is stated that he has attained yoga (union with God).

Let that man live himself by himself, let this man not degrade himself. The self is indeed friend to the self and the self is also the enemy of the self;

For he who has conquered his self by the self, his self is indeed his best friend; but for him who has not conquered his self, the self remains his enemy.

The self-conquered peaceful self is the supreme self; for him, cold or heat, happiness or sorrow, respect or disrespect are the same. This devotee who is counted with knowledge (Gnosis) and wisdom (Chokmah) who is mentally stable and a master of his senses and who regards rubbish or stone or gold as the same, such a self-realized soul is a Samnyasa (or Samnyasin).

He is the self supreme who maintains the same attitude towards his well wishers, friends, enemies, none aliens, arbitrators, haters, relations, saints and sinners.

Let this Samnyasa constantly remember his self as if to be found alone in a secluded place, self control without desire and without any sense of possessiveness. – Bhagavad-Gita chapter 6: 1- 10.

So, this is the achievement that any initiate has to achieve; this is what Jesus achieved, Moses achieved, Krishna achieved, Buddha achieved and many other great Masters.

When talking about Marah and the bitter waters, let us remember that Marah is the name of the enemy of Buddha; Marah has three daughters he sent to Buddha when he was in deep mediation. Thus we here find the relation of Marah the dragon of darkness that tempted Buddha and Marah the bitter waters. This is why when Jesus appears after the temptations in the wilderness and conquers all of this that we are explaining here, he appears to the multitudes and starts teaching them and among the first things that he states in the book of Matthew is the following:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill (this is related with the wrath in the liver); and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca (worthless), shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. - Matthew 5: 21, 22

Any action that has its root in the lower abdomen, i.e. enmity, hatred against anybody comes from the liver, from Marah, thus, when doing this, you are immediately feeding the enemy of God, which is your own particular individual Satan, your ego. And related to the spleen, or the other type of bile, or bitterness, it is written:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. - Matthew 5: 27, 28

Why? Because Marah through the impure blood comes into the heart, and from the lungs “Aleph” (the breath of God) from above goes into the heart, as we already know. Thus, this is how we mix such a desire of our impure blood with our soul within our heart, thus committing adultery in our heart. As you see, this path is something where we all have to be always alert and attentive of our own selves.

So we quoted many verses from the gospels and the bible and the Bhagavad-Gita in order for us to comprehend and understand that the Sacrament of Penance that the Gnostic Church teaches and that are followed by many neophytes is related to the initiation; everybody has to pass through that. However, most of us are familiar with certain penances or voluntary works that people perform in order to pay karma. I.e. it comes into my mind the Buddhists from Tibet who in order to go to certain sacred places, they stand and straighten their arms up and thereafter they laid down on their abdomen stretching their bodies on the earth, thus, like that they go, repeating the same movements until reaching the sacred place. It is stated that by doing this, they pay their own karma - well, not all of it. As you see, this is a movement related with all of this area of the abdomen in which you are with the chanting of mantras and the praying to God channeling the forces from above in order to release the negative forces from your body, vital body, psyche, etc. So all of those penances and sacrifices perform psychic mutations; such is the goal. Sometimes it works. So, all the penances and austerities that people impose upon themselves are done in order to receive help. This is done in many religions, i.e. Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, etc.; so as you see, all of these penances and austerities that they do, such as fasting, etc., are done in order to burn karma.

Now, let us talk about Hinduism and Christianity. In these religions people have statues in their temples; they carved them as a representation of their saints or masters who manage certain forces. Ignoramus people think that they worship idols, because they ignore that such statues only represent certain forces of nature. Yet indeed anybody who is following his guts (liver or spleen) and his lust, is an idol worshiper, because their egos are those idols which are built inside with those elements that they have within their bile. So, those statues or sculptures that we find in those religions are sometimes endowed with certain elemental forces which the superior Gods, Elohim, the superior masters place within them in order to give spiritual assistance unto their devotees who perform those penances and austerities. This is what ignoramuses ignore.  Thus, when people have faith in a certain Master, Deva, God, or Saint, they go and perform certain penances and austerities in order to receive their help - and if they really deserve it, then the elemental forces of such a statue receives from above and thereafter gives the necessary force or healing force to those people; this of course according to the law of karma.

Related to this elemental force endowed within these statues, it comes into my mind what - during a lecture - the Master Samael Aun Weor taught us in Mexico. The statues of the temples are loaded with the vital fluids of the people, of the parishioners. They can be loaded with such an amount that the statue acquires mobility. Sometimes, clairvoyants see them kneeling between the devotees, praying, and thereafter they return to occupy their place.

He stated that when you enter into those temples where you find the statues which people worship, upon which they place their love and faith, that such statues are guarded by elementals; thus most of the time the elementals are waiting there for the parishioners of devotees in order to apply their energy according to the law to those who deserve it.

So, as we said, sometimes such elementals get tired of being inside those standing statues, thus, from within them, they maneuver those statues down from their places and sit down on the benches of the church or temples.  When their devotees enter (since these devotees have their consciousness asleep) sometimes they notice seated upon a bench of the temple a person who looks very much like the saint of their devotion, and they say: “Strange, this person looks very much like the Saint or Deva whom I worship,” meanwhile this person does not realize that indeed that is the statue that came down from its place and is seated there in that bench of the temple in order to rest from its standing position. Then after a while it returns to its place.

Moreover, these devotees even go to the place where that statue was standing and realize that it is not there, yet they say to themselves: “Oh they might have taken the statue out of its place in order to clean it.” Meanwhile they do not realize that it is the same person that they saw and who was seated there on the bench.

This happens because of mysteries related to the elemental forces, which the masters sometimes utilize through such sculptures - made of minerals or plants - in order to work. This is very common.

Finally, Master Samael said, “I think that I committed some mistake here by revealing this to you, because you might face danger if you discover this; if  I say this it is because they respect me, and I know what is going on, yet when you are asleep and discover something like that, you might die because of that. Yet I do not think that you may notice this phenomenon because you are asleep.   Anyhow, be careful, do not be so obvious when you discover something of the sort because these elementals are very jealous and they do not like to be exposed.”

Q. What type of penance - voluntary self-punishment, absolution through death in motion or meditation – do we have to practice in order to redeem ourselves?

A. In order to redeem ourselves through these penances we have to meditate; meditation is the clue in order to comprehend our own defects, vices, and desires related to the ordeals of the guardians of threshold. There are many types of meditations, yet the main one is the one related with the comprehension of our egos. Remember that the ego hides within the 49 levels of the mind.
It is written that Jesus was 40 days and nights in the wilderness, so what was he doing there? He was meditating of course, because that is the path of the yogi, thus, what the yogi does is meditate.

Master Samael explains in his book Igneous Rose (which relates to Hermetic Priesthood) that when Jesus retired to the solitude of the desert for forty days and forty nights, he taught the way of Oriental Yoga, the path of meditation. In seclusion you meditate and comprehend and ask for annihilation of the ego, since we have to be in communion with the superior forces of God, and to overcome the ordeals that the devil is placing in the wilderness of your own life.

Every time that the devil tempts you in your daily life, you have to go and meditate. Remember Jesus in the wilderness; thus, close your eyes, meditate, comprehend your ego, and talk to your ego like this: “You shall not tempt me anymore because I comprehended this or that and you will die now.” Remember that the annihilation of your defects comes after the comprehension of them.

So, in the gospels you do not find any reference about Jesus performing “death in motion” and that he was eliminating egos superficially just like that, but we read that he was in the wilderness, meditating in order to comprehend his egos - related to the three guardians of threshold - and eliminating them. This is how you perform the true sacrament of penance taught by the Gnostic Church.

Q. How important are the Tibetan exercises that we do in terms of rejuvenating, the chakras, the liver, etc.?

A. Of course these are important, since these are related with penance, which is what we are talking about here. Through them we attract the superior forces of God - or the word of God as Jesus said -  in order for them to act in our body; remember that not only by bread along is the human soul going to live but also by other practices. The Tibetan exercises for rejuvenation are related with certain plexuses, with certain areas of the body related with the forces that we need to place into activity and transform, because we have too much bile (bitterness), Marah inside of our liver, spleen; you sweeten that bitter water of your liver and spleen not only by sexual transmutation but also through comprehension. Every type of bitterness in this area of the abdomen is related with defects, vices and errors that we have within.

Q. What about physical cleansing?

A. Everything that is related with the cleansing of the physical body, which is the temple of God, is good, any type of cleansing like fasting, In all religions you hear about the cleansing of your physical body, fasting penances, since these are related with your spiritual work. You have to overcome your sins, your sicknesses. Your sicknesses come from your ego; this is how you work and this why the Master Samael wrote his books Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, and Igneous Rose, in order to assist you, to help you; likewise, this why he instituted the Second Chamber in order to receive assistance from the Gnostic Church. There is too much filthiness inside of us – physically and psychologically. If we arrogantly forget that we need the help of God, if we think that we can do the whole work just by the alchemical bread alone - that is, sexual transmutation - then we are wrong.  This is why the Gnostic Church through Samael Aun Weor delivered a lot of practices.

Q. Can you elaborate a little more on the Initiations of Minor Mysteries? Do not we face the three guardians before the Major Mysteries?

A. No. The Minor Mysteries are the probationary path before entering into the Major Mysteries. All of them are related with Yesod. The nine initiations of Minor Mysteries are related with the number nine which is the world of Yesod; in other words, they are related with chastity. The Minor initiations of the probationary path are received by the soul whether you are single or married. A married person passes these initiations very fast.

The Minor Initiations are related to the three guardians of the wilderness of your initiatic life, because through the Minor Initiations you know or discover your psychological process in the nine spheres of hell against which you have to fight along the path of initiation (read Dante’s Divine Comedy).

When you practice sexual magic from the beginning, you descend through these Minor Initiations very fast, since you are working with three forces: man, woman, and the third which is God, the Holy Spirit that unites them in the sexual act.  Yet, when you are single you are working only with one force, thus with only one force is how you advance until a certain limit, to the point in which you have to marry in order to keep ahead walking on your path in the Ninth Sphere (Yesod) with Lucifer, who has to give you the fruit, which you have to smell not bite, this in order to climb the Mountain of Major Initiations on his back. Let us read a quotation from the book Tarot and Kabbalah:

There exists in the Luciferic temptation an unparalleled didactic, a portentous pedagogy, an astonished attraction, an unmistakable incentive, an occult instigation with secret divine propositions, seduction, fascination... Lucifer-Prometheus is one with the Platonic Logos. He is the Minister of the creative Demiurge and the resplendent Lord of Sabbath, the seven mansions of Hades (Infernos), and of the manifested world. Lucifer is he who bears the sword and the scale of Cosmic Justice, because to him is undoubtedly committed the norm of the weight and measure and number. He is Horus, Brahma, Ahura-Mazda, etc., always ineffable.

Lucifer (luci = light, fer = fire) is the Guardian of the Door (Threshold), who alone is entrusted with the keys of the Lumisial that no one enter therein, save the anointed ones having the secret of Hermes (sexual magic)...

Thus once you enter and start practicing you enter into your own Lent - which endures your whole life - and experience different Lents in different periods or initiations that you have to confront.

Q. What is the Lent?

A. Lent is a period of forty days; forty is the kabbalistic value of the Hebrew letter Mem, so those forty days are symbolic. I.e. according to Catholicism and Orthodox Christians, Lent starts on Ash Wednesday until Good Friday on the Holy Week; this Lent endures forty days. If you study the life of Jesus, you can see that such symbolic Lent of forty days is very long; it relates to the path of the cross until his crucifixion. All of this is painful, karmic; all of this is related with other Lents, i.e. the forty days of the universal flood, the forty years of the Israelites in the wilderness. So the forty days of Jesus in the wilderness relates to us, too.

For Jah-Chavah Elohim is a sun and shield: Jah-Chavah will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. - Psalm 84: 11
