I have just completed a 48 day mental and physical sexual fast, the longest in my adult life, which I received inner guidance to do while meditating prior to lent. During this time a read The Perfect Matrimony and am looking forward to deepening tantric practices and practicing sexual magic with my wife.

Our first lovemaking session since the mini-brahmacharya was awesome and I had no problem fully enjoying the act without orgasm. The focus on each moment, and divine love, was so greatly heightened I felt no need to ejaculate or orgasm.

So far, so good... Now however, my question is: What is the best science we have on the long term health impact of retaining semen? I have heard lectures on this site say nothing scientific exists other than negative speculation... or, I infer, positive testimonials. This is not conclusive enough for my logical faculties.

I stumbled upon this article on a Taoist site, further weakening my academic confidence that this practice is good for long term health. http://www.precisiondocs.com/~altaoism/HLDangerMain.htm

Naturally I have already read the "science" cited here on gnosticteachings, but candidly, it's pretty dated and/or antecdotal.

I will be continuing on this path for now, as I am an intrepid exporer, but can anyone share their best reasons for feeling that they are not stressing or frustrating their physiology's natural design & intent by abstaining from ejaculation?

Blessings to all,

James

The best science we have is the knowledge given by the greatest human beings in history. That science is objective and profound, but has been hidden from the public because we cannot be trusted with power. To access it, you have to work sincerely and patiently, usually in silence, because the public—being uneducated in this science—will do everything it can to dissuade you from it, since we have a collective mind, not individual mind, and do not like anything that contradicts our habits and desires. As we all believe, if everyone else says it is right, it must be ok!

This is also part of why you will not find any support for this in "modern science." No scientist or doctor is willing to go against "the industry." Those who do are ridiculed, expelled.

Although the vast majority of doctors and researchers repeat the claims they learned in medical school that orgasm and masturbation are healthy, the science they depend upon is entirely one-sided and lacks a serious control group, i.e. a group that practices scientific chastity or sexual transmutation. As such, the modern medical community has scarcely researched the chastity recommended in the sacred doctrine of all religions.

Proof of this science is found through living it. By living it, you need no documentation, public support, or so-called authorities. You will know because you experience it.

Can you really base your spiritual future on the opinions of others? Is it not better to rely on proven sources of guidance?

I note this post leads the board in negative votes. This is amusing since I have no idea what aspect they disagree with. I present both sides. This is one of the downsides to instructors only being able to write replies I guess.

Thanks Matthew.
Is it not better to rely on proven sources of guidance?
I hear you, but this advice is paradoxical given
...That science is objective and profound, but has been hidden from the public
is it not?

This said, I agree in principle and appreciate your thoughts.

Blessings to all,

James

It is only partly paradoxical, since the door to enter will be shown to those who earn it. That is why we have the teachings so revealed now...
