I've notised a few articals asking questions on what if someone spills semen while doing white magic. Does this mean that you have to have an erection to practice Pranayama?

No, as mentioned by an instructor in one of the question threads you are referring to, pranayama should not be arousing in any way. The body should be relaxed and the mind concentrated on the breath and visualization.
