Greetings,

In one of his books, Master Samael Aun Weor mentions something about a sacred dance and how priestesses of ancient times knew how to awaken the serpent by intelligently combining the dance with the music.
Can you please tell me more about the history of dance? is the modern belly dance a degenerated form of the ancient dance form mentioned by Samael Aun Weor?
Thank you.

Many traditional cultures preserve remnants of the ancient sacred dances. Properly performed, the dances provoke the consciousness to awaken. However, modern dances, even those which claim ancient roots, provoke the consciousness to sleep, usually through identification with lust.

The true ancient dances are scriptures in movement. They are now lost, but will be revived in the future era.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
