After practicing, you can rest. If the practice was done well, the sexual energy has been transmuted, so there is no need for breathing. You can meditate if you wish.

Refrain from bathing or showering for about an hour after practicing. This is to let the creative energy to make its movement throughout the vital channels without impediment. Taking a shower can cause the energy to become disturbed and can be damaging.

If your spouse does not transmute, it means your own transmutation during the practice is still effective. You have to walk a razor's edge to transmute without engaging in lust.
