for common afflictions like headache, sore throat, runny nose, migraine, colds, flu, such things like these, should we apply medicines from materialistic science?

should we instead live in the pain?

does this pay Karma?

should we receive vaccines?

We know if we wish to be healthy there are many Gnostic practices but in the moment of pain ought we to apply certain remedies? Better remedies than materialistic science?

We generally recommend doing your best to achieve a state of health through good diet and care of the body. Yet, obviously, because we all have karma, illnesses occur.

The Gnostic approach is to take advantage of whatever is useful, and discard whatever is not.

When possible, it is best to treat illnesses as naturally as possible, using plants, herbs, baths, the sun, rest, diet, acupuncture, or other traditional methods, etc. As you know, we have a book filled with remedies that work very well (link below).

Sometimes, it may become necessary to use modern allopathic medicine. We are generally skeptical of modern medicine because of the side effects, harmful chemicals, and other disquieting factors, yet, there are cases when modern treatments are effective.

Ultimately, one should appeal to the Innermost for guidance in these matters, and make the effort to meditate regularly in order to receive that guidance.
