There are a few different representations of Quetzalcoatl in the Mayan/Aztec tradition, I have included four pictures here so that you can see them, one is simply a stylized serpent with feathers, the other is the same feathered serpent with a human face protruding out of its mouth, another image shows us the same serpent swallowing a person headfirst and the final is a dancing human wearing some type of costume, and holding some things in its hands.

In the Gnostic books and lectures we are advised that Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, is in fact the Aztec/Mayan representation of Christ, the Son or Chokmah, which in the Hindu tradition is represented as Vishnu.

How does the the symbolism of Quetzalcoatl relate to the Christian and Hindu representations? For instance; the serpentine form, feathers, swallowing the person, the person dwelling in the body of the serpent.. etc.

In the Bible, Matthew 10:16 Jesus said; "Be ye wise as serpents", does this passage relate in any way?

And Moses (conscious willpower) made a serpent of brass (the Kundalini, an alchemical amalgamation of copper, the feminine metal of Venus, and tin, the masculine metal of Jupiter), and put it upon a pole (the spinal column), and it came to pass, that if a (devolving) serpent had bitten any man (through fornication), when he beheld the serpent of brass (in sexual alchemy), he lived (eternally in the Spirit). -Numbers 21:9

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up (within our spinal column):

That whosoever believeth in him (through fulfilling the three factors of the revolution of the consciousness) should not perish, but have eternal life.
-John 3:13-15

The Son of Man is the serpentine fire of Quetzalcoatl that, when raised upon the staff of our spinal medulla, has the power to heal the spiritual wounds inflicted upon us (the children of Israel) through the devolving serpent Kundabuffer (the abominable ego).

Quetzalcoatl, the Son of Man, signifies the alchemical science of mercury, the transmutation of the seminal energy into the Kundalini serpent with the wings of the Spirit.

Remember that there are serpents of fire and serpents of light, as explained in The Three Mountains by Samael Aun Weor. To be swallowed by the Kundalini serpent signifies levels of Initiation and Resurrection. Whenever we raise a serpent within a given vehicle, whether physical, vital, astral, mental or causal, we become swallowed by that serpent. We must also remember that in order to achieve any level of Resurrection, there must be mystical death. This is represented by the man whose head (materialistic and egotistical psychology) is being devoured through the violence of the serpent, the violence of the spirit in spiritual warfare (against the animal mind).

One must resurrect in the fire, then in the light, within all seven bodies of the human being. These constitute the Initiatic Resurrections and signify the cultivation of the Son of Man within ourselves.

The Resurrection with the Body of Paradise occurs near the end of the spiritual path, whereby the Adept physically dies in order for his soul to be completely swallowed by the Holy Spirit, the serpentine fire. This is signified by the image of the serpent devouring the man, whose head is visible within its jaws. Upon attaining this level of resurrection, one becomes a Naga, or "Serpent King."

Krishna, representative of Christ, controls the serpentine fire within our organism and dominates the sexual force through sublimation. In this image, we find him dancing and playing the flute, symbolic of the reed or spinal column with its seven notes (Chakras or Churches of Revelation). To play music above the serpents is to control the sexual fire through mantras, breath, or transmutation.

The symbol of Quetzalcoatl bearing his cross to redeem the Toltecs is the same Passion of our Lord Jesus the Christ within our psychological interior, whereby working with the serpentine fire on the cross of alchemy, one raises the Son of Man, Krishna, Khrestos, within oneself. In order to be victorious in this work, one must be as wise as the serpent (through transmutation) and harmless as a dove (innocent and pure of mind and heart).

This is a great question, and i would also like to know, what it exactly means "to become a serpent, one has to be swallowed by the Serpent." How do we visualize this swallowing, and it it a metaphor for something else? Some graphic process? Is teh swallowing from head down or from bottom up. And when you are 'swallowed' and then turn into a serpent, do you again come out? or remain in the cosmic body of the said serpent?

Thank you, your response has very much assisted me to better understand these symbols and how they relate to the spiritual work symbolically represented in the esoteric Christian and Hindu traditions.

Quetzalcoatl, the Son of Man, signifies the alchemical science of mercury, the transmutation of the seminal energy into the Kundalini serpent with the wings of the Spirit.

This reminds us of the Caduceus held by Mercury/Hermes seen in the Greek mythologies, the serpents intertwined around the winged staff, interestingly we see similar symbolism in the Egyptian artwork in the form of stone engravings or like the picture above, the pharoahs death mask.

It is also interesting that you mentioned the lines in Matthew 10:16, where the serpent and bird are in combination together (which conveniently reminds us of the feathered serpent Quetzalcoatl).

One must resurrect in the fire, then in the light, within all seven bodies of the human being. These constitute the Initiatic Resurrections and signify the cultivation of the Son of Man within ourselves.

Could you clarify what the Seven Serpents of Fire and Seven Serpents of Light are? What is the difference between these two processes?

Samael Aun Weor states:
After having received my true Being within, I discovered that the Seven Columns of the Temple of Wisdom are double. There are seven Serpents of Fire and seven Serpents of Light. I already raised my seven Serpents of Fire. Now I am raising my seven Serpents of Light.
