Good afternoon,
My Mother is undergoing chemotherapy, for Pancreatic cancer. Studying Gnostism is really helping me to deal with, face and learn to accept death. However, my parents, although they might describe themselves as Christian, they are only so in a cultural sense and are not practising. Due to my past, having had an addiction the heroin for 20 years, and also being considered a "conspiracy theorist", my parents dont overly take me seriously. If I were to bring up the subject of Gnostism, or the process of dying, or preparing for death, or how to have a good death-they wouldn't take me seriously at all. Thats ok, but my question is-will they be ok, after their death or are they going to suffer? I understand this isn't a "yes" or "no" question, but I just wondered what your thoughts are?
Many thanks...
Darren

Hello Darren,

Thank you for posing the question. I will provide an answer from two perspectives. The first perspective will seek to address our internal level of being when faced with understandable emotions from an illness of a parent or those closest to us. In the second perspective, I will attempt to point you in a direction to find the answer you seek.

From the first perspective, in the teachings of Master Samael Aun Weor, we understand that a level of peace can be obtained when we focus on the here and now. If we view the here and now from the perspective of the universe and beyond, even to other dimensions, it appears that our understanding of time is only relative to our understanding or sense of measurement of our lives from the point of transition into this world (physical birth) and out of this world (or physical death).

We measure with watches, clocks, and calendars, but it does not truly represent what really is, as there is no future or past, just a position of “here and now” as we hear so many times in this work.

Having said this, focus on the here and now and focus your thoughts on your mother healing on all levels of her being. Positive and loving thoughts, in the present moment will offer a unique perspective that can bring peace.

On the second perspective, one’s level of being determines their experience after transition. I say transition because, in the scheme of all that exists, we simply transition to another state of being. Remember, we are spiritual beings living in a physical body so that we can experience the physical world. Hence, death is not the end, we simply continue to exist in a different form.

Please have a look at the below lecture which may provide some insight

The notion that modern society supports and emphasizes—that death is the end—is patently false. Death is not an end, it is just a change. We do not cease to exist after death; we just begin to exist in a different way. Someone who is very serious about their spiritual practice knows that, and works on that, so the change of death can be beneficial rather than detrimental.
