Are these sensations, neutral, negative or positive? They occur often in dreams, and meditation as well..

For example,
when attending an orchestra, or listening to other types of music from our age,
or seeing the suns rays coming from behind a cloud,
Or when attending a funeral of some distant relative i've never met, and hearing their life for the first time.
Or when unexpectedly running into an old friend.
or when watching a profoundly esoteric film.

Most people in our culture describe is as "a chill runs down your neck".

I have begun to notice this occurrence much more often in the past few years since practicing meditation and study of the doctrine as well this sensation is become much more pronounced.. Rather than just on the back of my neck, sometimes this sensation fills my entire body.

Is it something that should be experimented with? For example I know specific songs I can listen to that evoke such things, but I'm unclear as to whether this is the negative "expending of energy", the neutral "movement and distribution of energy" or the positive "generation of energy".

I know that seeking out sensation is usually not a great idea, but, I also hear the contrary, and hear people speaking of listening to music as an act of transmuting energy for singles. So you can see the confusion here?

The only thing I have been able to conclude, is that of course, sensation comes and goes, but this specific one, cannot be understood whatsoever by my mind, hence my idea of labelling it as "emotion" in the title.

For experimentation purposes, would it be then logical to try to repeatedly listen to these specific songs, movements, or orchestras to comprehend it? Or am I just trying to intellectually understand emotion, which makes no sense.. I think i'm talking myself in circles here..

I think you understand the question now. :)

Deepest gratitude for your responses. Merry Christmas

Music composed by the great initiates has the power to inspire the soul in many ways. What is necessary is to develop the faculties of discrimination, intuition, and concentration in order to comprehend the subtle nuances of superlative emotional states of the consciousness. You will come to comprehend these intimate sensations of longing through practice, meditation and internal experience.

By learning to direct our attention in practical life and through performing mantric exercises relating with the chakras of the heart and the throat, we can access deeper states of intimacy with God. Conscious music or profound experiences can open the doors to inspiration, which in conjunction with imagination, conduce us towards intuitive knowledge of the Being. So in relation with your work, keep it up. You will come to more concrete realizations the more you apply this knowledge to your life.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
