I have struggled to distance myself from the sexual degeneration and worship of our egos that seems to be running rampant in our current humanity. I have been developing to become a better man, true to my soul. Whenever I try to socialize with certain people, there are many who act in a certain way to attract attention from others and are clearly not being themselves. Many people wish to have sex, attain material wealth, and become a figure glorified in our media. I am repulsed and cannot be sociable, so I just remain quiet most of the time while they continue their conversations. But I feel I am just being proud myself and putting myself above them, hence the negative feelings that emerge from within. I feel as if each and every one of them has their inner child suffering in the grasp of their strong egos, so I try to be friendly. Then my "friendliness" simply becomes an act. It's frustrating, so I like spending more time alone. I don't want to be criticizing a humanity in which I am a part of. My ego works against me in a lot of situations where I want to be sociable.

With my close friends, I feel so free. I am relaxed just being myself. I want everyone to be a close friend of mine, but I don't want to act like they are a close friend of mine. If I mediate to annihilate my ego from moment to moment , will this occur naturally? Or will this never happen until everyone else starts working on themselves as well..

You must be the change you want to see in the world. -Mahatma Gandhi

If you know how to change through the comprehension and annihilation of your defects, if you know how to establish the genuine factors of peace, harmony and understanding within your interior universe, then you will know how to bring it out in others. A superior level of being benefits everyone, and may, more often than we might believe, bring out a superior level of being in others through the law of attraction.

This does not depend upon adopting an extroverted attitude while being inherently introverted. Such behavior is superficial, mechanical and illusory, since it constitutes a mere modification and complication of the personality, which is subject to time and change. What we seek through interpersonal relations in the psychoanalytical work, however, is to deeply comprehend the causes that produce happiness, friendship and fraternity amongst all human beings.

Remember that interpersonal communication and daily interaction is a full length mirror through which we can comprehend ourselves. This also applies to how we comprehend others.

I believe some reflection on the following quote from Samael Aun Weor might be of assistance:

A percentage of psychic Essence is liberated when a defect is disintegrated. Thus, the psychic Essence which is bottled up within our defects will be completely liberated when we disintegrate each and every one of our false values, in other words, our defects. Thus, the radical transformation of ourselves will occur when the totality of our Essence is liberated. Then, in that precise moment, the eternal values of the Being will expr3ess themselves through us. Unquestionably, this would be marvelous not only for us, but also for all of humanity.

When we achieve the total disintegration or annihilation of our negative values, we will respect ourselves and others. Thus, we will become, we might say, a fountain of kindness for the entire world, a perfect, conscious and marvelous creature.

Therefore, the mystical self-image of an awakened person will consequently or as a corollary originate the perfect image of a noble citizen. His circumstances will also be beneficial in every sense. He will be a golden link in the great universal chain of life. He will be an example for the entire world, a fountain of joy for many beings, an elightened one in the most transcendental sense of the world, someone who will enjoy a continuous and delightful ecstasy.

-The Revolution of the Dialectic: Psychoanalysis - III

You cannot depend on others to change. You can only depend on God to change yourself. Personal and intimate psychological transformation provides incredible power in order to unite human beings. If you examine the reference I've provided below, you will understand how. :)

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
