Hello instructors,

I've been reading on the sacred-sex website that the orgasm is primarily a loss/discharge of nervous energy, which may or may not involve the loss of physical fluid.

Does this mean that if I (for example) watch a film and become identified with it, wasting emotional energy from my heart due to fear or excitement, that this is an ‘orgasm’ at its respective level? And would this mean that such an event would waste vital values from the nervous system, rendering one less capable in the spiritual work? Could the same be said for a lustful thought or image?

If this is the case, then refraining from the orgasm is a much more deep, subtle, and inclusive task than I previously realised...

The short answer is yes. Let us recall that there are three types of Mercury or sexual energy, as documented in the Hebraic Kabbalah:

· (Nephesh) Brute Mercury: physical entity of the sperm
· (Ruach) Electronic Essence of the Sperm
· (Neshamah) Mercury fecundated by Fire (Kundalini)

Although you may not ejaculate your physical semen, fornication may occur on more subtle levels, such as through the specific examples you cited. Many people think that even if you do not physically orgasm, it is "ok" to stimulate oneself through masturbation or by watching pornographic films.

This is ludicrous and 100% against the teachings of the White Lodge, since a student will lose energy by how he or she misdirects attention.

Wherever we direct attention, we expend creative energy.
-Samael Aun Weor, Fundamentals of Gnostic Education

Therefore, even if we are physically chaste, our mind can take us into suffering if it is not controlled. Remember that Jesus said a man commits adultery simply by looking at a woman out of lust (and of course, the same principle applies to women). Therefore, what is essential is ethical discipline and mindfulness of how we expend creative energy with our consciousness.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
