I have heard reports that in 1976, Samael Aun Weor announced to the UCGM that only his five most recent books should be used and the others should be "burned" because of their mistakes. This is the most radical version of the story I have heard. Apparently this teaching was passed on by Rabolu and the UCGM to subsequent organisations. I have heard others say that authentic schools have a lot more discernment when reading the earlier books as they understand that Samael was still learning at this time.
I can understand the idea of giving higher value to later publications but it also seems that Samael was very careful to go back and correct any mistakes, for example with the case of vegetarianism. Some teachers use this logic as a reason to disagree with some things that Samael said through their own discernment. Samael repeatedly says some things in his earlier books which he is not known to have corrected in later years. So it would seem unwise to disagree with any of these things unless the avatar said so himself.
Could someone please shed some more light on what Samael Aun Weor has said on this matter? Did he say something about treating these 5 books with more importance?
Thank you.
