5 books

I have heard reports that in 1976, Samael Aun Weor announced to the UCGM that only his five most recent books should be used and the others should be "burned" because of their mistakes. This is the most radical version of the story I have heard. Apparently this teaching was passed on by Rabolu and the UCGM to subsequent organisations. I have heard others say that authentic schools have a lot more discernment when reading the earlier books as they understand that Samael was still learning at this time.

I can understand the idea of giving higher value to later publications but it also seems that Samael was very careful to go back and correct any mistakes, for example with the case of vegetarianism. Some teachers use this logic as a reason to disagree with some things that Samael said through their own discernment. Samael repeatedly says some things in his earlier books which he is not known to have corrected in later years. So it would seem unwise to disagree with any of these things unless the avatar said so himself.

Could someone please shed some more light on what Samael Aun Weor has said on this matter? Did he say something about treating these 5 books with more importance?
Thank you.

What actually happened was that Samael Aun Weor said it would be convenient if the copies of the books that had errors could be burned so that the readers would not be misinformed, and would be able to read the correct editions. He did not say that all his early books should be burned in their entirety.

But people who do not know how to listen misinterpreted his statement, and made a whole movement out of it. That turned out to be really convenient for some people, because if students only read those five books, they have little understanding and are easily misled.

By the way, those five books also include recommendations to read his earlier books. That alone proves this whole "five books" issue is nonsense.

Our advice is simple: read all of the books of Samael Aun Weor, and ignore his students.

Thank you Alexis. This makes perfect sense.

We listen to the teacher who points to the inner teacher. As that is the only one we truly learn from.

It is always refreshing to the consciousness to be reminded of this truth.

It is also worth nothing that those same groups that insist on only reading five books also reject the Eucharist. They do not use it.

One night, I invited a gentleman to the holy Gnostic eucharist. Instead of the consecrated wine, the gentleman drank water; that is to say, that gentleman flatly rejected the blood of redemption.

Indeed, the tree is known by its fruits, and that fruit is black. That gentleman is an emissary of a black lodge called “The Order of Aquarius.”

No white magician would ever reject the blood of redemption. With this act in this moment of the twentieth century, that emissary of the black lodge of Aquarius committed the greatest of all infamies: rejecting the blood of the martyr of Golgotha...

The Holy Eucharist should be practiced in the houses of all our Gnostic brothers and sisters, and not only in brick, stone or concrete temples. Each family can practice their Gnostic Eucharist daily, without the need to go to places of religious exploitation, such as all those Rosicrucian, Spiritist, Catholic, Theosophist classrooms, etc...

Thus, each home can become a Gnostic temple, and the head of each family in a priest. No more lodges, no more schools, no more sects, no more infamies, no more exploitation! The temple is within ourselves, and the High Priest is Christ. Aquarius is coming, the age of Light. Down with chains! Christ doesn’t want slaves.
