Is there any reason that one wouldn't want to meditate in the supine position regularly as long as they could avoid falling asleep? I feel like my ability to deeply relax is much greater when I am lying down. Does anyone have experience meditating in this way? Does it have any limitations?

Also, sometimes after meditating I will get in bed and fall asleep and then awaken outside my body. This is followed by some unusual astral event such as a hailstorm which forces me to abandon the experience. I get the feeling that I am being "forced out" of the experience. Is there any reason to believe this is the case?
