Anastasis

Anastasis is a Greek word meaning "resurrection," or "rising up"; from "Ana" meaning "up" and "stanai" meaning "to make stand."  It is related to the English word "resuscitate," which means to "raise," to "revive," or to go up again.

Let us read Mark 12:18-27:

Then came unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave [his] wife [behind him], and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke unto him, saying, I [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

Here, in this chapter we are entering into a discussion about the resurrection.  There are many people who think that because they believe in the Bible or because they belong to a certain religion, especially one of the three monotheistic religions (Judaism, Islam, and Christianity), that they will resurrect.  They disregard what Jesus said: "God is not a God of the dead, but the God of the living."   Jesus' statement may seem like a contradiction.

He also said that those who will resurrect "neither marry, nor are given in marriage (will not have a spouse); but are as the angels which are in heaven (with no marital life)."

Thus, in order to comprehend this passage from Mark 12: 18-27, which is related to this lecture, we have to point, as always, to the Tree of Life.

When we look at the Tree of Life, we see a series of triangles:

  1. the triangle of the Glorian above
  2. the triangle of the Monad
  3. the third triangle, which is Hod, Netzach and Yesod

This third triangle can also be visualized as a square, when we include Malkuth: thus we have four Sephiroth.  This is what precisely we have to comprehend in order to understand this passage.

Who are the living?

"The living" are related with the Ruach Elohim that descends into Malkuth in order to create the living soul.  This means that the four creatures of Ezekiel, which in Hebrew are called "Chaioth Ha Kadosh," are related to the four bodies that we have to create.  These bodies are related with the Soma Psuchikon.

  1. The first is the body of liberation, which is Malkuth and is represented by a bull.
  2. Then, we have the second, the man, the Bodhichitta, which is in Yesod, and represents the vital body, and is the second holy creature.
  3. Then the lion, that represents the astral body.
  4. Then the eagle, which is in Netzach; this is the last holy creature.

These four Sephiroth are where one finds To Soma Psuchikon or the Living Soul, which we have to create.  So, the Living Soul does not yet exist, because first we have to be born again.  Obviously, the living relate to those immortal bodies which relate to the Soma Psuchikon.

Who are the dead?

Obviously, instead of the Living Soul, we have the inferior quaternary, the protoplasmic bodies; the protoplasmic bodies are also related with Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malkuth. They are submitted to the wheel of Samsara.  This wheel is related to the wheel of life and death.  The "dead" live in the wheel of Samsara.  In Samsara, the physical body is born and then eventually disintegrates in the grave.  Similarly, the protoplasmic bodies, which are products of the mineral, plant, animal, and intellectual animal kingdoms, eventually devolve and die.  So the God that Jesus refers to as the "Living God" is not a God of these dead.

  Chesed-Geburah-Tiphereth

But again, who are the living? In Mark 12: 26 Jesus said:

"God spoke unto Moses, saying: I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob."

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob relate to the Monad.

  • Abraham represents Chesed - the Father
  • Isaac his Son represents Geburah - the Spiritual Soul
  • Jacob represents Tiphereth - the Human Soul

So when we, Gnostics, talk about God, we mean the Glorian, the God of the Monad.

This is why when we talk about the Passion of Christ we always begin with Tiphereth, we move to Geburah, to Chesed, and finally we enter into the mysterious abyss between Chesed and Binah, the Holy Spirit.

So, we have to understand that - in Kabbalah - when we refer to the "Soma Pneumatikon,"which is the Spirit Image of God, we mean Chesed, Geburah, and Tiphereth.

And when we talk about the To Soma Psuchikon, we are referring to the four inferior Sephiroth, or the living soul that we have yet to create.

To Soma Psuchikon are the bodies that we must create, which are related to Bodhichitta.  But, before we possess this Bodhichitta, this Soma Psuchikon, we are the dead mentioned in Mark 12:27.

Understand, the "dead," those with only protoplasmic bodies, will never resurrect. Regrettably, people who read the Bible without knowing Kabbalah or Alchemy ignore this.

Adherents of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam do not burn the bodies of their deceased, instead they bury them.  Why?  Because they believe that eventually those bodies will resurrect.  They believe that God will gather together all the bones and flesh of their deceased and the person will emerge as he or she was prior to death.  This is their belief.  This becomes a problem because cemeteries of this type only serve to propagate viruses and diseases.

So, we have to understand that when Jesus said that the dead do not resurrect, he was referring to those who only have protoplasmic bodies.

The resurrection of the dead is only for those who have created their internal bodies, those who are being born again.  So, there are two types of dead:

  • the physically dead
  • the psychologically dead

When Jesus said that the dead will resurrect, he was referring to those who die psychologically.  In other words, in order to attain resurrection, one must reincarnate.

Listen carefully: after the reincarnation of the Being (Atman, Buddhi, Manas; in Kabbalah: Chesed, Geburah, Tiphereth) the Bodhisattva has to, by means of the crucifixion, completely die within himself, thus entering into the mysteries of the Holy Sepulcher.

In the book of Genesis, this psychological work is called "very good" because this important work can only be performed by Reincarnated Masters.  Understand that only a Reincarnated Master can achieve resurrection.

In The Pistis Sophia Unveiled, Samael Aun Weor stated:

"The treasury of the light is possessed only by Resurrected Masters.  The twin savior is the Son of Man.  The twin savior is Tiphereth.  The causal man within whom the Logos, the Christ, is Manifested.  The Twin Savior is certainly the child of the child.  The regions of the Three Amens are symbolized by the triangle of the Three Supernals: Kether, Chokmah, and Binah, which are found separated from the rest of the universe by that abyss which the intellectual humanoid can never pass through."

In the previous lecture, the speaker was talking about that abyss, which is Daath, or Prajna.  This is why it is difficult to pass from Chesed into Binah, as Master Samael stated, "the abyss which the intellectual humanoid can never pass through," but the human being made into the image of God can do it.  In other words, a Reincarnated Master can do it.

By saying Reincarnated Master we are referring to that being who has already incarnated Chesed and Geburah, not only Tiphereth. In order to reach the level of Reincarnated Master, you have to have Chesed and Geburah within; in other words, your Inner Being, your Monad, incarnated.

The rest of humanity can believe in reincarnation or resurrection, but in reality these are very demanding laws that are only applied to those who are very advanced in the work.

However, as you know, there are three types of resurrection:

  1. the spiritual resurrection
  2. the resurrection of the body of liberation
  3. the resurrection of the physical body

We are going to talk about these different steps.  All of the three types of resurrections are psychological.  They represent a psychological work that we have to perform.

We have to understand that there are three witnesses in heaven.  These three witnesses are the Father, the Logos, and the Holy Spirit; Kether, Chokmah, and Binah respectively.

These heavenly witnesses correspond to the three witnesses on earth, in Malkuth, the physical body.

The first witness is in the breath, related to Aleph, the air which enters through the nose - Kether, the Father.

The second witness is in the blood, related to Shin, fire, which is related to the heart - Chokmah, the Son, which takes from the lungs the oxygen that we breathe and which thereafter distributes the essence of Adam (Aleph and Shin) within our bodies.

This oxygen in the blood (Aleph and Shin, Father and Son) transforms within the body and finally reaches the sexual organs where we have Mem "the living waters" the third witness, Binah, the Holy Spirit.  So this is why when we talk about the "waters" we are talking about the sexual energy.  This is why we say that we have Aleph in the head, Shin in the chest, and Mem in the sexual organs.

Yet, Binah, the Holy Spirit is also related to Schamayim, the superior waters of Daath, those waters above Chesed, Geburah, and Tiphereth.

The inferior waters are those that arrange from Chesed to Malkuth.  So, here as you see, we are entering into Schamayim and Mayim, the mysteries of Binah, which is the Holy Spirit, and the third Sephirah.

Schamayim is related to the Sephirah Daath, which is the upper Eden.  The superior waters are here in Daath, the upper Eden, and in Kabbalah, the word associated with the Upper Eden is "Delight," and is considered masculine.

Below, in Yesod, we find Mayim, the inferior waters, which are the lower Eden.  This Eden is called Edna, which is female, and is associated with the word "pleasure."  This is the relationship between Binah, Daath, and Yesod.

So when we talk about the Holy Sepulcher, which is in relation to Binah, we are talking about the next step after the crucifixion which occurs in Chesed.  Before going further into this kabalistic disquisition, we have to clarify many things.

We must understand the mystery of Friday.  In other lectures we stated that the days of the week were altered during the Middle Ages by priests or monks who tried to place the Gospels in the order that they thought was correct.  Because they were not initiated into the real mysteries, they were merely theorizing as to the correct order.

The Lord is crucified on Good Friday, and if we take into account the seven days of the week and their correspondence with the seven planets - The Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, which is the correct order - we arrive at the conclusion that today, Saturday, is the only day that is in the right place, but yesterday ("Friday") was actually Thursday.  However, the Holy Friday on which the Lord was crucified does not represent the actual day of the week.  It is a reference to the mysteries of Holy Friday.

In Nordic Mythology, Freya is the Goddess of love.  The word "Friday" comes from her name, "Freya."  Friday is the day of love, which is related to the cross of sexual magic.  So, the mystery of Holy Friday is the mystery of the crucifixion.  That is why it is stated in Mark chapter 15:25: "And it was the third hour, and they crucified him."  If you know nothing about esotericism, Alchemy, or Kabbalah, you may think that the Lord was crucified at 3:00 in the afternoon on Friday.  But esoteric wisdom teaches that the third hour is the Third Hour of Apollonius, which is related to the mystery of the awakening of the Kundalini.  Of course, this third hour is when the initiate enters the mysteries of the Sahaja Maithuna, the cross, in order to awaken the fire of the Holy Spirit.  Nobody can do this without the mysteries of the cross.  If anyone of us wants to enter into the mysteries of the awakening of the Kundalini, he must begin at the third hour.  This is stated symbolically.  So we always begin on Holy Friday with the mysteries of love.  This is how we must understand what they did not understand during the middle ages when they tried to apply the Gospels to the days of the week, which are now in the incorrect order.

In Kabbalah we learn that Chesed, which is related to the mysteries of crucifixion, is ruled by Jupiter.  Jupiter is related to the mysteries of IO-PETER.  Jupiter is related with Kether, Chokmah, and Binah, which is the Cosmic Christ. When Jupiter unfolds into its female aspect, which is the Divine Mother Freya, you have the union of two forces, which are I-O.  The I is the masculine force, the O is the feminine.  So IO is created by uniting the two.  Peter, as you remember, is the head of the Church of Rome.  This is another mystery.  When we speak about the Church of Rome, we are not referring to the Catholic Church in Rome.  Romae reversed becomes Amore, which means love in Latin and Italian. Peter is the head of the Church of the mysteries of love.  Two thousand years ago, the teachings of this church were being given, but now, that church who claims to be founded by Peter lost the mysteries of love.

Peter, as we have stated, is related to the pineal gland.  That is why he is the ‘head' of the church because the pineal gland is located at the head of the temple of the physical body. The pineal gland controls the sexual glands. This is why Peter was crucified upside-down: in order to work with these mysteries, the head must go down into Yesod; this is a metaphor for controlling the sexual forces.  So everything that is in the Bible has a secret meaning.  The mysteries of IO-Peter are also related to the mysteries of Chesed.  That is why they are related with sexual magic, the Sahaja Maithuna.

Many people in this day and age want to attain the realization of the inner self without working with the cross or performing the holy sacrament of the church of love: the Sahaja Maithuna. The path of the cross is completely sexual. Through it, we deny our many selves - that is, everything that the ego desires - so that our soul and spirit become free from the bondage of desire.  The Via Crucis is necessary for the final liberation because without the activity of the sexual cross, the consciousness will not awaken. Without it there can be no absolute death, and without death there can be no resurrection, and thus no ascension.

People ignore that the sexual cross is actually the Holy Spirit.  It is Iod-Hevah Elohim.  This mystery of resurrection is the mystery of putting into activity the "Tzalem of God" which is "the image of God."  But in order to achieve this resurrection, we must first be born again.  We have to create Bodhichitta inside, which is a compound of different internal psychological bodies.  Bodhichitta is a Soul-Man.  These bodies of the Bodhichitta can express themselves through the physical body that we possess.

The mysteries of Binah are related with Daath and Yesod.  This is how one unites - through the cross - the superior Eden to the inferior Eden. When a man and woman are in sexual contact, the superior and the inferior Edens are represented in them and are united in them.  There is where they can take the Image of God (Tzalem of God) and create the Soul-Image (Living Soul) that has to appear inside of us in order to attain resurrection.

When you read about the "firmament" in the alchemical book of Genesis you must interpret it Kabbalistically.  Let us look to the Tree of Life.  In the Tree of Life there are Four Worlds.

The lowest one, in which we reside, Malkuth, is called Assiah. When translated into different languages, this is wrongly rendered as "Asia," the continent.  But this has nothing to do with the Assiah of the Kabbalah.

Above Assiah there are three more firmaments:

  • Yetzirah which is associated with Hod, Netzach, and Yesod
  • the firmament of Briah, which is related to Geburah, Chesed, and Tiphereth
  • the firmament of Atziluth which is associated with Kether, Chokmah, and Binah

Each firmament in turn has ten firmaments.  These firmaments are referred to in Genesis, but in a hidden way, and only if you are initiated into the secrets of alchemy will you understand all the symbols completely.

In Genesis, six of the seven days of creation are described as "good."  There is only one day which is not described as good, and that is the second day.  The first day when Jehovah-Elohim created light, it says that the light "was good".  The third, fourth, and fifth days are described as "good" and the sixth day is "very good," but the second day is not.  Why?  What is missing?

On the second day, which is related to Yesod, the inferior waters must be separated from the superior waters.  The superior waters are related with Daath and they are pure, but the inferior waters are related with Malkuth and they are filthy.  This is why in Genesis the second day is not considered "good."

In this physical world of Malkuth (Assiah), we have defects such as lust and other forms of psychological and sexual degeneration that are within each one of us.  But, when starting to work with the cross, which is sexual alchemy, the man and the woman begin to perform this separation of superior and inferior waters.

Genesis speaks of three firmaments, Atziluth, Yetzirah, and Briah, but as we mentioned earlier, Yetzirah, which represents the Solar Bodies (Chaioth-Ha-Kadosh), does not yet exist within us.  We must create the solar bodies by working with the cross.

Chesed and To Soma Psuchikon

The Monad exists within every creature, but the soul is something that the spirit has to create within you.  Unless you allow the Ruach Elohim to descend and to create the solar bodies (the Merkabah) within, you will not create anything.  So therefore you have to create this firmament which is in "the midst of the waters," the waters being Yesod.  The Ruach Elohim, which in Genesis is said to be "hovering over the waters," is your own individual spirit, Chesed.  If you transmute your sexual energy, then this Chesed will separate the superior from the inferior waters and create the firmament within you.

Sequentially, we could say that Genesis states: that the triangle - Chesed, Geburah, and Tiphereth - said: "let there be a Soma Psuchikon," that is, a firmament in the midst of the waters (Schamayim and Mayim), separating the pure waters of Daath from the inferior waters of Yesod.

In the second day Jehovah Elohim (through Chesed) made the firmament, in other words the Soma Psuchikon and divided the waters that were under the firmament (from Yesod to Malkuth) from the waters which were above the firmament in Daath, which are above Chesed, Geburah and Tiphereth.  And God called the firmament heaven (the soul image).

This division must occur when the image of the human soul emerges from Yesod and then makes the separation within you; that human soul is pure because it is in the image of God.  Yet, below are the inferior waters which are composed of lust, anger, vanity, pride, laziness, gluttony etc. which are used to satisfy desire.

Notwithstanding, the "good" that is missing from the second day is placed in the sixth day, because on the sixth day, the man, already made into the image of God, has to descend like Moses into Egypt in order to deliver all of Israel and destroy all the Egyptians, which symbolically represent the ego, those elements that are worshipping idols.

Those elements that worship idols are in Egypt, which Kabbalistically is Malkuth.  This is not a reference to the country of Egypt in Africa; it is a symbol for the physical world and the physical body (Malkuth).  It is enough to have pride, lust, gluttony, laziness and anger within in order to worship idols.  There is no need to have a statue in order to worship idols; we worship when we satisfy the desires of our internal idols.  They are mental images that we have to destroy.  Muhammad did this when he entered into the Yesod or Kabba in Mecca by destroying the idols inside.  We have to do the same thing by cleaning our own minds and annihilating all those defects.  In the Hebrew Bible these idols are known as the "uncircumcised" because circumcision is a symbol of transmutation of our internal energies, while fornication is the prostitution of the energy that we have within.

Those who do not divide the inferior from the superior waters fall into limbo, which is the first sphere of Hell.

Only by complete psychological death within the waters of Yesod is resurrection possible.

Understand that the death on the cross is an absolutely sexual symbol which is related with the sign of Jonah.  This is because the initiate develops himself under the constellation of the whale. Concerning this, you may have read what Master Jesus responded when the scribes and Pharisees said:

Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah: For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

When you go into the center of the earth you enter the Ninth Sphere.  In order to go into the Ninth Sphere you must practice sexual magic because the Ninth Sphere is Yesod, which rules the sexual force, the mysteries of Friday - Freya - Love.  Now you understand why Friday is a special day for Christians, Jews, and Muslims.  The sign of Jonah who was in the whale's belly for three days is symbolically related to the resurrection.

Remember that when in Chesed, Christ is crucified; he thereafter enters the Holy Sepulcher which is related with the Sephirah Binah.  In that sepulcher he passes three days before his resurrection.  These are not three literal days, but three steps that each of us must perform before the resurrection.

First, there is the initiatic resurrection that occurs when for the first time the Astral body is created.  This is explained in the lecture The Transfiguration of the Bodhisattva.  There is a book about this written by the Master Samael Aun Weor called The Seven Words.  In this book he explains the entire process of the creation of the astral body, in which, for the first time, the initiate resurrects in Hod.  During this process the initiate experiences a symbolic life, crucifixion, death, and resurrection.  This is the first symbolic experience of resurrection.

The Spiritual Resurrection is related with the path of the bodhisattva in which the initiate has to purify the physical body, vital body, astral body, mental body, body of willpower, the spiritual consciousness, and the spirit.  These seven bodies are the Seven Serpents of Fire like the serpent of brass that healed the Israelites in the wilderness.  That energy rises and creates within you the True Man.  If at this point you decide to take the direct path and sacrifice for humanity, then the Lord, Chokmah, which is Christ, Prajna, descends into you.  This Chokmah is called in Greek "Christ." In Tibetan it is called Chenrezig; in Sanskrit it is Avalokiteshvara.  In different languages the Cosmic Christ is called by different names.  In ancient Mexico, Christ was called Quetzalcoatl.  In China, it is called Kuan yin, and Ahura Mazda among the Zoroastrians.  In Hinduism, it is Vishnu.  If you investigate the God Baldur, from the mythology of the Nordic people, you find that it is just another name for Christ.  So, Christ has many names.

Christ is born in the nativity in Bethlehem; his baptism takes place in the River Jordan, or the waters of Yesod; he undergoes the transfiguration of Hod, the triumphal entrance into Netzach, he is betrayed in Geburah and crucified in Chesed, and finally, he enters into the Holy Sepulcher in Binah.  This is the path of the cross which the initiate who enters the path of the bodhisattva must walk.  This is the path of spiritual light because first the father enters as fire, but afterwards he becomes light. That light illuminates the bodhisattva.  When the bodhisattva reaches Chesed it means that fourteen serpents - seven of fire and seven of light - have been raised by him in his seven bodies.  At this point, the bodhisattva reaches spiritual resurrection and he enters the superior worlds as a true man, a Buddha.  After this spiritual resurrection, he enters into the mysteries of Binah.  He has already resurrected in the fire and resurrected in the light.  Therefore, this is spiritual resurrection.

However, you cannot achieve spiritual resurrection simply by reading and believing in the Bible.  You must perform the work by working with the cross.  When we talk about the cross we are referring to the man and the woman represented by the vertical and horizontal beams.  If physical life cannot arise without the union of the ovum with the sperm, neither can the spiritual.

When spiritual resurrection is achieved, then comes another type of resurrection, one in which you are completely purified, since, even after the spiritual resurrection the waters of Yesod are still filthy.

When the bodhisattva enters into Tiphereth, he is given a choice between two paths. The path of the bodhisattva is the path in which the Man of the Sixth Day is created.  When the initiate reaches the fifth day, it is "good" - the initiate is already a human being.  However, the waters in Yesod are still corrupted by certain defects.  If the initiate decides that he does not want to be a hasnamuss, then he must become a Man of the Sixth Day which is "very good."  In order for this to happen, the waters of Yesod must become completely clear and pure.  Of course, this is a difficult work.  Remember that humanity fell when it ate of the fruit by the abuse of sex.

Then, the only one capable of purifying Yesod is Christ.  This is called salvation and ultimate liberation.  This is how Christ descends and enters the death chamber and then hell.  Of course, the symbolic three days are very long.  It will not happen in a week or a month, it is a process, often referred to as forty days or years.  The number forty represents Mem, the waters of Yesod.  Of course, this process is the process of the Bodhichitta.  It is not like the fundamentalists believe that just by believing in Jesus he will descend and make you holy.  Many Christians state that they are born again, but in reality they have many defects and vices.

A man made into the image of God is someone who has no ego and is completely clean because he has to enter into the Upper Eden which is the abyss of Daath.  That is why it is written:

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. - Matthew 27: 45

Yet, you read in another gospel.

And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. - Mark 15: 25

So, Jesus was crucified during the third hour, but from the sixth hour to the ninth hour there was darkness upon the earth.  What is meant by earth?

Malkuth is the earth. The sixth hour - in the hours of Apollonius - is the hour of temptation when Lucifer will tempt you until the ninth hour, which is Yesod.  Here you find that the sixth hour is (6) Tiphereth and the ninth is (9) Yesod.  When six and nine are added you find the number 15, which in Tarot is The Devil.  In other words, this is the time when we have to work very hard on our own particular ego.  The ninth hour is the hour of initiation, but you must work with the cross and with your own particular inner devil that is wasting the waters of Yesod.

This is why what is written must be read in this way:  From the sixth hour of temptation (the mysteries of Holy Friday, and IO-PETER), there was darkness over the earth (Malkuth) until the ninth hour (which is sexual magic) and the sun of understanding (which is Netzach), was darkened.

Netzach is the sun of Binah (understanding) and was darkened.

And the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

What is the veil of the temple?

Inside of us we have the Adamic Veil which we cannot see beyond.  We cannot see beyond Malkuth into the upper firmaments.  Currently, science is penetrating into the fourth dimension with certain instruments, but with physical sight we only perceive Malkuth.  Beyond that, one must either believe or disbelieve.  However, if the veil of the temple is rent then that light of the superior worlds penetrates into your physical body and you begin to see that which the physical eyes cannot perceive.  This is how the crucifixion opens the spiritual eyes.  This is done by working on the cross, not by believing on the cross or in something else.

This is why in the ninth hour Jesus said "Father, into thy hands I command my spirit."  That spirit is Chesed.  The father is Binah because here in Daath are the mysteries of the father and the mother.  It is related to that commandment "thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother."  That father and mother are related to the Holy Spirit, Abba and Aima in the mysteries of Daath, and Adam and Eve in Yesod.  So then, you honor Abba and Aima, father and mother, through the work of the cross, in the sexual act, as Adam and Eve without any form of degeneration.

Then it is written that Jesus gave up his spirit to the Father.  We must understand that in Hinduism the Holy Spirit is called Shiva.  Shiva is the God of creation and destruction.  In the book of Revelation, this destroyer is called Apollyon.  This destroyer is the one who Jehovah Elohim released in the time of Moses in order to slay the first begotten of the Egyptians, which is a kabalistic symbol that we must interpret with the eyes of the spirit. In the Bible, the Hebrews symbolize those pure elements that we must work with, while the Egyptians are those elements in Malkuth that we have to destroy.  The one that carries out this destruction is Binah, Siva, the creator and destroyer.  Based on this we can understand why in the Bible, God is sometimes destructive and other times benevolent.

It is written that when Jesus went to hell he retrieved the souls of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and all the other prophets.  Understand that symbolically this means that Christ always delivers Chesed, Geburah, and Tiphereth.  These are "the living" that Jesus refers to.  By doing this work, these souls are saved.  All the esoteric books are really kabbalistic and alchemical books.  They are not meant to be taken literally.  These are the teachings of Jesus that were distorted by the Pharisees who thought that humanity was not ready for these teachings.  This is why many Gnostics died in Rome.

Remember, belief is not important; action is important.  We must attain Anastasis, resurrection.  Remember that Genesis is written symbolically and we must understand this in order to understand how the Man of the Sixth Day appears.

It is written that "when the veil of the temple was rent in twine from the top (which is Kether) to the bottom (which is Malkuth) the earth did quake."  This earthquake is a symbol of Malkuth.  This means that when you are experiencing this initiation internally and you enter into the holy sepulcher in order to resurrect, the earth (the physical body) will tremble.  At this point the initiate realizes the seriousness of his work.  If the initiate wants to become "very good," then he must cooperate with the Lord. Pilate, Caiaphas, Barabbas, and Judas still exist within him.

The initiate must descend with the Lord into Hell in order to face his own internal sins and defects and destroy them.  After this the initiate can resurrect.  This descent into hell is written about in Greek mythology.  Heroes such as Orpheus descended into Hades in order to rescue Eurydice (symbol of the consciousness).  This is not an easy task because the Gods of the Inferno always see you with their "left eye."  This is a symbol meaning that they only see your defects, your darker side.  Only your sins are visible to them.

Another symbol related to this is the redemption of the seven sins of Mary Magdalene.  Mary Magdalene represents our own soul.  In order to make her holy, the Lord must remove her sins.  Of course, this is a long process that we must perform.

When this work is completed, Genesis states that the Lord rests on the seventh day. The seventh day is related to Saturn, which is death.  After you have completely died within yourself, the Lord may rest.  The human being is now made into God's image.  Now man returns to the Garden of Eden.

Remember that in Genesis it states that man was created from the "dust of the earth."  The dust of the earth is our own defects.  Similarly, in Greek mythology Prometheus (who is Lucifer) creates Man out of clay.  But this too is a symbol.  It is a symbol of the transformation of the dust or clay into the true human being.  In The Pistis Sophia Unveiled, the Master Samael Aun Weor wrote this:

"It is not possible to reach omniscience or the level of Paramarthasatya unless we have previously learned to live between the Absolute, which is the Illuminating Void, and the relative dependent origination of the Nidanas, between the mutable, or conventional truth of manifestation and the immutable voidness of emptiness."

As an example: many people try to understand Binah, but Binah is beyond the intellect.  We must pass through the transformation of Genesis in order to comprehend this mystery.

"Those who have passed beyond the illuminating void experience that which is called "Tality," which means perfect Bodhichitta.  The Tality, the 13th Aeon, is the Great Reality of life free in its movement.  The illuminating void is just the antechamber of the Tality, which is the great reality, perfect Bodhichitta, or Paramarthasatya, which simultaneously precedes both the manifest and the unmanifest."

In other words, when we reach this level we understand the relativity between the manifest and the unmanifest.  At this point we must have no ego.  With the ego alive this is impossible; only after the resurrection is this state achieved.

It is the same symbol in the Book of Jonah when the whale vomits Jonah onto the shores of Nineveh.  This is the same as Jesus rising from the tomb, appearing as a resurrected master.  Then, the initiate enters the fourth dimension.  At this point a choice must be made:

  • to resurrect with the Body of Liberation, which is usually the choice of many Great Masters
  • to resurrect with the physical body

Only very few Masters, such as Master Jesus, choose to resurrect with the "carcass," the physical body.

The Body of Liberation belongs, however, to the fourth dimension.  This body is immortal.  An example of this type of resurrection among masters is Joan of Arc, who was burned at the stake, but she resurrected with the Body of Liberation in the fourth dimension where she still exists.  If you enter the fourth dimension and enter Bohemia in Europe, you encounter Joan of Arc and also Paracelsus, both immortal masters.

Many great alchemists still live in the fourth dimension.  Jesus exists in the Temple of the Resurrected Masters.  Having reached the level of "Anklad," he has achieved the highest level.  But, there are many resurrected masters.  In India, for example, there is a master named Babaji who resurrected with his wife Mataji. Understand that both these individuals are resurrected masters, without the ego.  However, there are many individuals who claim to be the reincarnation of these masters.  The same is true of Jesus.  However, a resurrected master never ages, so these people's claims are impossible.  Anyone can claim to be a Master in order to exploit the ignorant.

This is why in the Bible there is a story about a rich man and a beggar named Lazarus who became sick and died.

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.  - Luke 16: 19-31

Lazarus-resurrection

Albeit, when Jesus came to resurrect Lazarus, Jesus said:

Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. - John 11:11-16

"Lazarus is only sleeping" because his death was not a common death.  His death was the psychological death that we have been discussing.  Jesus, who represents the Christ, arrived and saw that the initiate (Lazarus) had already died psychologically within himself.  Lazarus had already accomplished the work.  Jesus accomplished this miracle in order to demonstrate the mystery of Resurrection.  It was not to show that Jesus was almighty or omnipotent, but rather to demonstrate the mystery of Resurrection.  Lazarus was only raised for the glory of God, meaning, that if you want to glorify God, die psychologically, annihilate your ego, and Christ will resurrect you and put you in the Garden of Eden.

When it comes to Masters or those who do have some internal development, usually in the physical world we only find human beings of the fifth day, which are those Nirvanis or prophets who still have ego within. They are human beings, but not in the complete image of God.  In order to be made into the image of God, you must die on the Sexual Alchemical Cross.  Before this has been accomplished, the individual is still a demon.

We are reminded of a certain anecdote connected with the Master Samael Aun Weor who was preparing at that time for his resurrection.  Certain students were visiting him and one of the female students asked the master when she would finally receive a husband.  "What are you expecting?" asked the Master.

"I want a man who will be a good man and help me with the work."

"This is difficult because men have ego, and you also have ego," replied the Master.  "As long as this is the case, you will always have problems in your marriage."

The master went on to ask her if she would be content with a man who was as still as a statue during the sexual act.

"No" she replied.

"This is because you still have ego," said the Master.

Once the ego is destroyed, of course, the individual will not care about such things as that.  So, little by little, the couple must purify themselves until they become saints.  But this can only be done by accomplishing the psychological work.

This doctrine is not a doctrine for angels who are already in heaven; it is a doctrine for demons, like us, who want to become angels.

Of course, there are many demonic people who love hell and do not want to leave it.
