I've seen here that in the words of Samael Aun Weor he disagrees with the vegetarian/vegan diet because he fell ill trying it. It's safe to say that people who don't know how to do it will get sick. But there are not only the same exact nutrients found in all animal products that can also be found in plant products but even better and safer nutrients as well. If you don't know how to properly replace them then of course you'll get sick. There are vegan olympic athletes, manual laborers and everyday athletes who are fully vegan and are brimming with strength and energy.

I do agree with the fact that it's one thing to welcome the food that you eat and another to be a slave to it. But if people were forced to slaughter themselves every piece of meat or extract whatever animal products they use themselves, the intake would drop significantly. Not many would be able to stomach doing it themselves. They don't have to feel it since they are not the knife holders.

If people are willing to see the truth about sex and become chaste, how is that people aren't able to see the truth about meat?

Question: Beloved Master, when you addressed the gluttons in regard to the disequilibrium of the scales, can we by analogy say the same about those who ignorantly yet voluntarily lack adequate nutrition, especially because of their unawareness about the eternal, common, cosmic Trogoautoegocrat Law. Can we therefore consider that the orthodox parishioners who have created a religion within their kitchen, or rather the vegetarians [vegan], will dwell within the fourth circle which you are bringing up in this lecture?

Samael Aun Weor: Respectable gentleman, in regard to your question, allow me to tell you with completely dazzling clarity that everybody is free to feed themselves as they please. There exist unbearable vegetarians who have created a religion out of food, likewise there exist upon the Earth bloody, carnivorous, near cannibals, who have also destroyed their organism. So, there are variety of nonsensicalities in this life. Thus regarding disequilibrium, everybody is guilty, since everyone violates the law of the scales, and the outcome of any violation is not pleasant.

However, it is not irrelevant to repeat that everyone is free to nourish themselves as they please. Nevertheless, we must not forget the law. If we destroy our bodies, we will have to endure the consequences. Regardless, it is convenient to specify that many vegetarians exist within the abysses. However, none of them suffer there because of the crime of eating vegetables, but because of many other causes and motives. Again, about nutritional matters, let everybody eat whatever they please. What is important, I repeat, is not to break the law, and that is all.

No one is labeling, denigrating, or criticizing you. We only emphasize that students are free to eat what they wish when it benefits their bodily temperament and disposition. If a vegan or vegetarian diet suits you, then by all means fulfill it. We only wish to emphasize that diet should help religion and that it should not be one's religion.

I have not created a religion out of food and am sad to see me being thrown into that pit of assumption. Didn't intend to come across as someone who push what you should and shouldn't eat. Only bringing light to it. In my heart it's an obvious truth such as being chaste. Eating meat has caused me great suffering physically and mentally in the past, even in small amounts and I have no food allergies, my initial change wasn't to save the animals it was to save my body. I see no point in ingesting harmful foods. Also food is for survival not pleasure. Meat abuses reward circuits. I'm aware that being vegan doesn't give you a free ride to the heavens that would be a silly thought...but "when given the choice to drive a brand new vehicle to get to one's destination, would a person decide to rely on a skateboard that is partially broken?"

It's difficult to imagine one slitting the throat of a cow in eden when there are seeds lying right next to her. I'm aware there are proper ways of eating meat but it doesn't fully justify it to me. How can animals evolve if we don't give them a chance to. From what I see here is almost to the extent of justifying cannibalism as well which doesn't make sense. Maybe I'm not understanding.

What's ingested into the mouth also influences what comes out. Including what comes out of the heart.

Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. -Matthew 15:17-20
