I have a strong attraction to the idea that there is MORE to life then just going to school, working, having some fun, growing old and then passing away. An attraction that there is More to being human than being bonded by physics, etc. I was born into a Jehovah witness house hold and my family transitioned into a non-denominational church. But i never felt any strong connection with those faiths. when i started looking outwards i felt bad for being more attracted to subject such as the Inner Taoist Elixirs. But now i do not believe there is a one way path and religion to be closer to God .

So i have been looking into everything! from Christianity to Magik. To the point i do not know what is real and what is not anymore. I am really lost. I get the concepts but is nothing solid. It just seems like a bunch of information with (sometimes) a little direction but nothing that will get you to where you can start learning from your self.

I would appreciate help and opinions on my situation.
Those two texts discuss, in detail, the art, science, and practice of self-observation and self-remembering, to know and remember the presence of divinity within us here and now!

As the Sufi mystics teach, "He who knows himself knows his Lord." Or as the Greek maxim on the Temple of Delphi declares, "Man, know thyself, and you will know the universe and the gods!"

Therefore, the knowledge you seek is within. If you wish to alleviate your suffering and to know the peace of divinity, you must become cognizant of yourself.

The following texts will greatly aid you in getting started on this path:

Thanks for your input. i have heard that maxim all over! to the point i can see where that could be true. i have just one more question. How? how do you study you self. how do you know yourself? Is it through a microscope? do we watch the thoughts go across the screen of the mind? do you set and try to meditate till something random happens? it has been said to watch every thought and every action. so when i walk i should know my surrounding at the same time watch my thoughts? but the mind can only do one task at a time.

Thank you for the books. ill will read them!
