I have personally not heard of this before, but such weird, pseudo-literate/scholarly and ungrounded beliefs do not surprise me, since we live in the times of the end.
By investigating religions profoundly, we find that all legitimate spiritual guides reject the use of intoxicants for the advent of spiritual experience. Dante in his Divine Comedy illustrated the fate of those in hell who physically took drugs. Therefore, Gnosis, as the heart of all spiritual traditions, rejects the use of psychedelic substances, since they are literally "drugs for the soul" and can only strengthen the cage of the mind in which the consciousness suffers.
Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.
Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
