Hello everyone. I'm trying to develop concentration and self-observation.
Here's my question: is "self-observation", "vigilance" and being aware of ourselves at all times, the same thing as "remembering god", utilizing the "Key of SOL", and "keeping our bowl empty and facing upwards"?
In other words, is everything I listed above a different name for the same technique? Can we basically boil every technique down to "being mindful, aware of everything, trying not to act mechanically, and dying in ourselves from moment to moment"?
My understanding of this point is poor and probably wrong, but how could our mind be focused and one-pointed from moment to moment, if in every moment we need to be vigilant, remember our god, and be aware of Subject, Object and Location, especially while we go about our daily lives, doing things which require our attention? Basically my point is: isn't there too much stuff we need to pay attention to from moment to moment? Or is it all the same, under different names?
I noticed it's much easier to not be distracted during a meditation/concentration/relaxation session, with your eyes closed and nothing to worry about. However while doing things, like for example writing this post, It becomes really hard to be truly aware. I guess it depends on practice and experience.
I hope you can help me with my question. Thank you.
