When Wotan (the Being) bids farwell to Brunhilde (his soul or consciousness)!, is this a necessary step for the complete union of the being and the glorian? for the soul's total purification?

Geburah (Brunhilde) must eventually descend within the initiate (Tiphereth) in the work of the Second Mountain, which is a painful transformation and process for the Innermost (Wotan), but a necessary sacrifice in order for the human soul (Sigfried) to develop complete cognizance of good and evil!
