Aren't beliefs, opinions and thoughts generally manifestations of the ego... or rather projections from our subconsciousness?

Are ones beliefs worth investigating?

Would it be better to not have any sort of belief?

I suspect that belief is one of the many symptoms of ignorance, being a subjective thing beliefs aren't real knowledge of anything. So do they have any value at all?
