Just so you know, we have an
Astrology Poster that lays out the days for you as they are supposed to be.
In response to your question, the correct ordering of the days of the week follows the layout of the planets in the ancient cosmology.
The modern week starts with Sunday, however in the ancient cosmology, the moon was first. So the ordering is like this:
Modern day: Correct name for the day
- Sunday: Monday (Moon Day = Moon)
- Monday: Wednesday (Woden's Day = Mercury, since the Romans believed that Woden was equivalent to their God Mercury)
- Tuesday: Friday (Frigg's Day = Venus, since the Goddess Frigg was equated with Venus)
- Wednesday: Sunday (Sun Day = Sun)
- Thursday: Tuesday (Tyr's Day = Mars, since the God Tyr was equated with Mars)
- Friday: Thursday (Thor's Day = Jupiter, since Thor was equated with the Roman Jupiter)
- Saturday: Saturday (Saturn's Day = Saturn)
So the correct ordering of the days in the week is Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
