Peace,

I have been away from the website for a while, but continued listening to lectures, reading books and working on myself. However, I have found it difficult to be consistent in my meditation practice vs morning exercise.

SInce I have a sedimentary job, I have tried to exercise in the early morning before work which energies me, at the same time, i feel a little bit guilty that I have not established regular meditation practice in the morning. It is somewhat sparatic.

I do pray regularly in the morning and recite various prayers, runes and mantras. Any suggestions on how to balance it all?

Peace

As the Master Sivananda taught us in his Yoga of Synthesis:
Here is my little song of the Yoga of Synthesis, for your daily practice:

Eat a little, drink a little
Talk a little, sleep a little
Mix a little, move a little
Serve a little, rest a little
Work a little, relax a little
Study a little, worship a little
Do Asana a little, Pranayama a little
Reflect a little, meditate a little
Do Japa a little, do Kirtan a little
Write Mantra a little, have Satsang a little
Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realize
Be good, Do good; Be kind, Be compassionate
Enquire 'Who am I?', Know the Self and be Free
You need to take care of your body; therefore exercise is important. But so is meditation, pranayama, mantra recitation, etc. So what do we do?

As Swami Sivananda indicated, it is best in the long term to do a little bit of practice very frequently and during free time, if that is possible. You must reflect on your own psychological disposition and cyclical nature to see what is the best time for you to practice given your responsibilities throughout the day. You must also analyze which practices are most essential to your well being based on your experience. This establishes priorities and solidifies your esoteric work ethic.

Careful assessment, planning and management of your esoteric practices with your daily responsibilities is one of the keys to success in yoga. But as it was indicated by the Master:
All of these esoteric disciplines of the mind must completely saturate our daily life.
-Samael Aun Weor, Igneous Rose
Therefore, one cannot separate work from spiritual work, since they are integral for Self-realization.

Joyful in hope, suffering in tribulation, be thou constant in thy prayer.

Benedictis, qui venit in nomine Domini. Osanna in excelsis.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!"
