I just read the lecture on pranayama at the top of the newest articles section of this site. In it, the instructor says that married practitioners don't need to practice pranayama except during periods when they aren't practicing sexual magic. I have two questions related to that idea.

1) Should married practitioners practice mantras individually or is that also unnecessary if the couple recites mantras while practicing as a couple?

2) The instructor said that for couples who are less experienced in their practice, there may be some benefit to practicing pranayama. If a couple is practicing both pranayama and sexual magic, is it necessary to leave a space of twenty four hours between sessions of pranayama and sexual magic in order to allow for the creative magnetic pause, or in order so that there will be an amount of un-transmuted energy available for sexual practice?

1. That is up to the needs of the individuals. Mantras have many purposes. It depends upon what you are working on.

2. Couples who have a great deal of energy and cannot control it will find that pranayamas help them reduce the fire, and thus take pressure off their practice of sexual magic.

Pranayamas can be done as much and as often as one wishes; they require no creative magnetic pause. The pause only applies to the activated use of the sexual organs: they need to rest.
